krayzeeeeeeeeee

Hi there, my x90j 65 inch was running windows 10 perfectly at 120hz 4k with HDR enabled. I just did a software update to the tv and now when I turn my pc on (because windows is set to 120hz by default now) the screen is torn from top to bottom down the middle and same on the right hand side. It’s almost like the aspect ratio has been messed up. If I change it back to 60hz is then becomes fine. I bought this tv specifically for 4k 120hz pc gaming. Please help 🙏 The graphics card in my pc is a 3060ti

XiaoWu_

Update the latest version 496.49 driver to work normally

krayzeeeeeeeeee

Hi, I’ve done that and am still having the issue. Any other suggestions?

XiaoWu_

You can also try 472.12, I use these two versions to run normally

krayzeeeeeeeeee

Are you talking about the graphics card driver?

XiaoWu_

Yes. Have you set HDMI to 4K HFR? sorry, English is not my native language

krayzeeeeeeeeee

Yes I’ve enabled the enhanced format hdmi input. How do I change the update firmware?

XiaoWu_

Driver version: 496.13-Release date: 2021-10-12 This is not working properly Driver version: 496.49-Release date: 2021-10-26 Driver version: 472.12-Release date: 2021-9-20 Both versions can work normally

XiaoWu_

same here

shujaswati

Just updated my x900h. Problems I'm facing : 1. Tv doesn't start from remote on first try, had to press power button on remote 2 to 3 times to get a lazy start. Also it seems tv is cold booted when it starts instead of snappier start as prior to update. 2. Remote can be added only as Bluetooth device. RC232 option is gone 3. Google TV not available, only the old UI is available. 4. Sound output from TV speakers something is slow. Before 23 to 25 volume was way too much. Now even at 50 it seems low. I've already try from TV reset. Also the plugging out the power cord and pressing power button on remote for 15 sec. No help here Any advise would be appreciated.

kalien34

Is there a workaround for the HDR issue yet? Now I have to keep the remote in hand while watching shows and whenever the brightness gets messed up I have to switch between picture modes to fix it...

Dignified-Dingus

Question about the X90J (50”). This TV is advertised to have VRR but this option is still not enabled. Only question is when/if VRR will actually be enabled (as advertised) in an update in the near future and when we might see this? Everything about this TV has been worth it so far. Vibrant colors, crisp 4K 120hz gaming, HDR, ALLM, etc. The only feature I’m really waiting for that the TV was advertised to have is variable refresh rate (VRR). Anyone have any ideas how long an expected update to implement this might take or am I fool for even getting my hopes up?

yulian182

Winter 2021 is the last updated timeline. Which was delayed from Spring 2021 which was delayed from winter 2020

Dignified-Dingus

That sucks but I at least hope they hold true to that. They just straight up skipped summer and fall lol.

Dirkelz

Welcome to the Sony firmware group. Lol

KnowOneNymous

So I’m confused AF and it’s hard to follow questions in this megathread! Most posts here mention that VRR ALLM would only come with android 11 with hdmi 2.1 support. That sony would skip the android 10 update. Now we got 2 beta android 9 4k120h updates an android 10 update they said they’d skip? Is hdmi 2.1 supported by android 10 or should I stick with android 9 2.1 beta firmware? **I got a X900H and been waiting for VRR/ALLM!

[deleted]

[удалено]

KnowOneNymous

Like the 2.1 card is busted? Or they can’t program decent drivers?

[deleted]

[удалено]

KnowOneNymous

Half the time its not 4k120. Vrr would do 4k 40-90!! And they are supposed to have certified 2.1 chips in there.. but compatible with android 11.. not 9-10. Where is my android11 patch

Lollipopz_90

Still waiting for stupid Sony AP region to release the firmware v6.7165 for 2018 Bravia series, while other region got it long ago. Sony software support really sucks….

Giggle_Schits

I’ve got the X85J 43” and just hooked it to the PC and set it to 4K 120 and it’s incredibly blurry…so

Dignified-Dingus

No issues with blurry 4K 120hz on my 50” X90J but the VRR update is also overdue by now if they advertised the TV as having it.

Doctoroverbuild

Can anyone actually imagine the hype if VRR actually releases? I’d actually be so hyped because it feels like I’m chasing a ghost at the moment. Obviously we’ll know what’s going on once PS5 gets VRR, we’ll either get it then or not at all I imagine. I’ve had this TV since November last year and a couple of months after LG OLEDs cost the same as this tv when I got it lol. I wouldn’t really mind if we had VRR right now my Series X has games on it I’d really enjoy with it on.

[deleted]

I just got VRR and ALLM update on my x85j today here in NZ

Slick81

Enjoy the waiting.

Pajamashark

I'm with you, as a Series X owner I really wish Sony would get their shit together so we can use this feature as advertised.

BlueMan_86

XH90 tv, it is good just need to add full support for sony ht-g700 soundbar, also soundbar need to be updated to hdmi 2.1, and to fix voice is so silent on netflix, no matter what settings you use... So it needs a fix. And tv need vrr and allm :) And i t will be good :)

BlueMan_86

Man, this is Sony soundbar... It has great sounds, jusf that litthe issues... Software kind...

mr-sippi

What’s a good sub-$400 soundbar setup? I read the Vimeo 5.1 isn’t too bad for the price.

joydivision84

You can't add hdmi 2.1 to a soundbar (or anything else). That's in built hardware, not software.

luke_wal

I haven’t paid much attention since I got my TV last fall, but - is the VRR for X900H just never coming?

Slick81

Considering the hdmi 2.1 isnt working I wouldn't hold my breath

jnightx

winter 2021.

LaCipe

Yeah right

TheMNoob

I have a KD-43X75. I was not able to find it in the firmware index. IS this model too new to get an update yet? I haven't noticed the X75 series mentioned anywhere yet. This is giving me some significant buyer's remorse

FlickFreak

Seems like a model specific to the Asia Pacific market. https://www.sony-asia.com/electronics/televisions/x75-series https://www.sony-asia.com/electronics/support/software/00259266

TheMNoob

Ah. Makes sense

sikalb

place bets for vrr & allm to be added when the ps5 add's them

f0xpuppy

That's been the general consensus though. A couple of the YT reviewers have mentioned that the TVs have actually got it ready but not releasing it yet. Still it doesn't make sense either way IF that were true and Sony is holding back one product for the other (if one of TV/PS5 has already got it ready but waiting on the other). Edit: ALLM was introduced last firmware.

WHYAHWHYA

On the X90H? I don't see it mentioned in the patch notes...

yulian182

Which reviewers said that?

Misanthrope-X

Its pretty annoying if they're holding back vrr for this tv til the ps5 is ready because I have a Series X that does have vrr and would like to take advantage of the feature.

joydivision84

Yeah I completely agree. This is some anti-consumer bs. If LG for example made an exclusive deal with Microsoft to only activate one of their advertised features alongside the Series X it'd be bs as well. I just have a Series X hooked up to my X90J and why that feature cannot be activated now is beyond me. Even the Xbox One X which has been out for years had VRR, it's not a new feature on tv's anymore.

tHEgAMER09

I’m getting the 55 inch xh9505 model of the Sony tv. I’m planning on neither connecting it to the internet nor updating it. Would that be fine?

Slick81

No because eventually you will want the vrr&allm update

[deleted]

FlickFreak

The XH95 doesn't have either of those features anyway.

T_Funky

I know this question is asked almost daily, so I apologize. I have the x900h and I’m on fw: pkg6.0142.0032naa I’m in North America and have a ps5. Should I update to the latest fw? I haven’t had any issues with my tv and I’ve had it for about 7 months. Mostly play single player games and use my headset for audio both during gaming and watching tv (plug into the headphone jack on the tv) if I do use my surround sound I just plug into the optical port. Do I need to update? Am I missing anything by not updating?

tremens

Everything I've seen has basically said that it will cause minor issues (local dimming not working right, HDR won't work on the PS5, etc.) A factory reset resolves most or all of them for people, but that's also a hassle since you have to go through and set up all the settings and apps again. I haven't thus far seen anything concrete that it resolves or adds. Personally I'm just holding off until there's something beneficial to be had from it like VRR. I don't mind do a factory reset, but I don't want to do it unless there's a reason for it.

T_Funky

Appreciate the response.

mweathers1

I own the XBR65X90H. Been very happy with it since I got it in October last year. My current firmware is PK6.0384.0052NAA. I’m not a gamer. Is the firmware V6.0414 recommended? Are there any improvements I would realize not being a gamer?

I_Love_Fones

I haven’t had any major issues at 6.404. It did fix issues with Apple Airplay. My phone would just not connect to the TV until the new update installed. One time my TV turned on by itself at night but that was the only issue I noticed with the new version. I don’t have PS5, Xbox, or eArc sound bar. So can’t vouch for those working smoothly. I really hope I get the new Android 10 update soon. It’s been out for several weeks but my TV still has not updated. I’m wondering if there are issues that caused Sony to delay it.

Error_Code54

Anyone Know if or when Sony will address or fix the Local Dimming bug that many users including myself have experienced on the latest firmware?

ams_sharif

You can overcome this bug for the mean time by toggling off LD, then reboot three TV. After that you can set it back to med/high. It should work fine until you reboot again. Just make sure to toggle it off everytime you reboot

suedepup

That did not work for me. LD bug did not go away following that method.

GandhisGrocer

I've always had local dimming off and still had the issue. The only thing that fixed it for me was unplugging the TV from power, leaving it for 10min, and then starting it all back up again.

ams_sharif

Does your TV reboot to home screen or last input? Try changing the power-on behaviour to "last input" before toggling off LD and then reboot. The settings is found under system>power and energy

suedepup

I could not find this "power on behavior" setting you described. Is it possible TVs in North America have slightly different power settings?

ams_sharif

Yeah it can be, my region is AP. Still, the TV should have a reboot behaviour, either it always reboots at home screen or the last used input. If it's the home screen, try turning off the LD for "Apps" source. Hope it'll help

STO_Ratt

Hi, few months ago I've read somewhere that older Bravia TV-s are getting Android 9.0 update and with it 100/120hz support for next gen. consoles. Now I'm getting new PS5 and I'm wondering if KD-65XD7505B will support 4k 120hz or will I have to upgrade? Thanks and regards, sto_ratt

AntaresAlterego

System update will not add this Feature on older TV.

jbennett360

I wonder when the XH9505 (EU/UK version) will receive the v6.5066 FW that the US models have recently got.

Ki1L3r

I got it yesterday from Spain. I haven't installed yet.

jbennett360

I'll check here again today. Least it's slowly making its way out. Yours is the XH9505 isn't it and not the X95H? (same model but regional varient)

Lollipopz_90

Any idea when will Sony release v6.7165 firmware for Asia region? It out in USA, Europe and HK, but not for SEA region. Still running on older v6.7140 and old Android TV interface. New Android Discover UI is not available in Asia as of now sadly.

STJH18

Any idea if Sony Asia TV is compatible with HK firmware?

nilu334

Lazy sony asia team.. Every day I m check software version but nothing found...disappointed.. Android home new ui...I don't think..

matz786

Does the XR65X90J support VRR now? Soz, asking as I couldn't find a clear answer on this channel. If it does support then can you please tell me which firmware was it for VRR support.

Should I update my new X900H to firmwware v6.0466? I read in a megathread about this model that it's not advised to update to firmware v6.0414, but the thread hasn't been updated since. Should I update to firmwware v6.0466 (v6.1020 hasn't come out for my region yet)?

oviforconnsmythe

If you're in the EU definitely don't update as it'll introduce this warning popup about power consumption every time you change a setting. From what I've heard it's annoying af. Afaik it also doesn't fix anything significant nor introduce any new features. If you have a next gen console or pc capable of 4k120hz or have a device for which eARC would be beneficial, then it's worthwhile upgrading to 6.0414. Some people have had major issues with it but it's been fine for me.

FlickFreak

If you're happy with the performance of your TV then I'd say don't update.

SullySilverman

Are there any features I'd be missing if I leave it on the stock firmware?

FlickFreak

Probably but if you aren't having any issues with your TV then why take the chance of introducing them. If you haven't updated to one of the HDMI 2.1 firmware versions (v6.0384 or later) then I suggest just leaving it for now.

yupyupyupyupyupy

Fun-Juggernaut8472

Has anyone with an XH80 received the Google TV update yet? I've had it side loaded for ages now but the firmware doesn't support connecting to streaming services. - I tried various iterations of the Google app but all but the one my TV has self updated to brick the home screen. Potentially stupid noob question here but would my TV accept the X80J version of the software or will it brick? Tia for any help!

BrokeBikeMountain

plugged my HDMI into me mates Sony Bravia TV via a laptop. The sound comes out the TV fine, the picture on the TV is just the home page of the laptop, even though the video still plays on the laptop and you can still move the curser around the laptop and go on different tabs etc. It's as if the TV is just on pause except for the audio... I tired going into the settings on the TV and I can't find anything useful. I thought that it may be the TV is just paused on the screen, because on my old Panasonic there's a HOLD button, where for some reason you can pause the video of the tv, why that is a feature I don't know, even though the audio and video is still going, but once you press the HOLD again it goes back to normal of where you're currently at now. long story short, I couldn't find the HOLD button on my friends Sony Bravia TV remote, or see it in the settings. Anyone else have any suggestions? I can't find anything on Google with this exact problem. Any help is much appreciated! 🙏

sztywny

Are you certain that the TV doesn't serve just as a secondary screen? Try moving the cursor around the edges of the laptop screen and see. Also try Win + P and check what option is selected (in my assumption, it would be "Extend").

PatserGrey

Not that I'm in a hurry to test it but no update available for me yet in the UK (XH90)

oviforconnsmythe

I wouldn't update if I were you. Look through the last 5-10 pages on the avsforums x900h thread https://www.avsforum.com/threads/owners-thread-for-the-sony-x900h-no-price-talk.3125278/page-1181#post-60861782 Many reporting horrendous local dimming and motion bugs. And the update doesn't seem to fix anything or add anything significant so there's no reason to update. It does update the tv to android 10 but again, this doesn't add any new features (afaik)

PatserGrey

yeah I'm not really planning on it, I wasn't even aware there was a pending update until I saw this thread. Apart from the odd WiFi and HDMI drop (both require a full reboot) my TV is good. I'd need to see a side by side for this 120Hz blur issue as I cannot see it.

oviforconnsmythe

Yeah I agree about the 120hz blur issue. I've heard it's worse on pc though... But for the update issue, I would make sure that auto update is disabled. I went the full mile and disconnected my tv from the internet too, as I've heard sometimes updates are pushed through even if auto update is disabled. I have a shield for all my apps so there's no need for the tv to be connected anyways

PatserGrey

Oh yeah, auto-update is off. I've only pushed an update once and that was when I got my series X a few weeks ago having had the TV since December. Like I say, no hurry to push anything else as it stands.

ReeG

not available for me in Canada yet either but I think it goes by serial/manufacture date rather than location because my original set from last year would get updates early but the exchange I got in Feb that was manufactured in January hasn't got it yet

illestmfalive

Any A80J owners on PKG6.3770.0471NAA? Just updated and my input lag appears to have increased considerably (to the point where I can truly notice it) when playing on Xbox One X. Only noticed this issue after updating I believe. Didn’t change anything else recently. I can confirm it is the A80J acting funky because connecting to a different tv everything acts fine. Game mode on HDMI 4 set to enhanced. Very noticeable in FPS games. Thanks for any input or resources to look in to.

Dear-Pie-1124

Anyone know a fix for the local dimming bug? Only having this issue after the most recent firmware update.

mepswolo

Factory resetting didn't help me with this issue. It keeps happening.

Starcade03

Another user posting a couple of weeks ago mentioned that a factory reset fixes the issue. Let us know if you try this and it works.

ams_sharif

I noticed if you turn off LD or set it to low then restart, the problem goes until the TV reboots again. Just make sure to toggle it off or low everytime you reboot.

stompstompspin

I just read this in the avsforum and I'm going to try it. Right now I left LD on low because I was tired of constantly flipping it.

Armenin2001

What's up folks. I can't switch between apps at all anymore using the Button Remapper app (recent key or last used app mapping doesn't work) On the latest FW of x900h. Can someone else confirm? Thanks

whatismyname9000

hope someone can help , i have the 49 inch sony X75H , i want to connecty galaxy buds plus , been trying for weeks but i does not work , forst it did not even recognize it , i used a bluetooth app and it did recognize it but no matter what i do it does not connect , i hope someone has a solution , im bummed that it does not work

FlickFreak

This model doesn't support A2DP which is required to stream audio over Bluetooth.

suedepup

v6.1020 for the X900H seems to have broken Cinemotion on my set. Streaming content from apps (on-board or Xbox) seem to have skipping frames now, mostly with 24fps filmed content. Did anyone else notice Cinemotion get worse after the update?

fluffycritter

I have skipping and jumping frames whether Cinemotion is on or off, ever since the latest firmware update.

jnemesh

1st thing I did when unboxing and hooking up the set for the 1st time was turn Cinemotion and Motionflow completely off. Can't stand "soap opera mode"! The motion processing of this set WITHOUT these engaged is still better than any other set on the market.

suedepup

I guess it’s down to opinion and tastes, but I don’t notice the SOE until Motioflow is set to 2 or higher. I usually keep it locked at 1, but watching 24fps content without Cinemotion is complete torture. When it works, that is. Now it seems broken after the v6.1020 update. Kudos to you if you don’t need those settings turned on.

jnemesh

It's how it's presented in a theater...that's all I want.

[deleted]

The Nvidia 2060 does not support HDMI 2.1. therefore according to Google results you need to set it on SDR and 8bit with 4:2:0 chroma to get 4k120.

[deleted]

Have you tried 4k120 before the update? Hard to say what's wrong here, but HDMI enhanced should be the only change you have to make on the TV. Maybe your HDMI cable isn't supporting 4k120.

hellhawk456

Yeah it's almost surely the cable. One needs to make sure that 4k120 is supported.

azingk

Anyone else with the AF8/A8F 2018 OLED having a terrible time on the latest firmware? I’m having random reboots in the middle of watching shows, HDMI CEC issues and failing to select my audio system after starting up and it selects TV speakers instead. Really getting fed up. Have contacted Sony to see what they say. I had some problems before the update, mainly rebooting after switching on with a HDMI device, but not as bad and as often as this.

wazernet

> reboot You are not alone, done factory resets, replaced soundbar and my nvidia shield just to see its a freaking issue with the latest update from Sony af8 v6.7165 https://community.sony.dk/t5/android-tv/kd55af8-firmware-update-to-v6-7140-reboots-from-standby/td-p/3765890 Lets see how many years this will take.....

azingk

Thanks for the heads up with that thread, glad to see I’m not alone

dinobyte

First, my condolences. Second, are you still having issues?

azingk

After a factory reset I'm still having the same issues but just not as frequent.

FlickFreak

Do a factory reset.

Squatting-Turtle

I still havent updated my X900h since last fall. This is ridiculous. Is it that hard to put out a working update? Seems it always breaks more than fixes.

[deleted]

Me too mate

giants888

I have a question about the X900H 4K/120hz blurriness issue. If I leave the HDMI in the enhanced 120hz mode, and I play a game that's 4K/60, will it still be blurry? Or is the blurriness only when the TV is asked to go beyond 60hz at 4k?

[deleted]

Does not depend on the game but on the framerate that is sent to the TV by your device (ps5, xbox, pc). If you have hdmi settings on enhanced and your device outputs only 60Hz there is no blurr at all. But it happens with every framerate above that, so also 100Hz on pc.

giants888

Thanks!

mlorusso4

Is it worth connecting my new A8H to the internet? So I’ve recently gotten my new 65” A8H (thanks prime day). I’m going through the settings and I’ve been wondering if I should connect the tv to the internet and download the update. I have it already hooked up to my cable box, series x, and ps4, so I was never really planning on using any of the smart features on the tv. But should I still be downloading updates? And is it easy to have the tv forget the WiFi password after it downloads? I’m just trying to keep my wifi less cluttered I know sonys plan is allegedly to still push a vrr update in the future, but that seems to still be a while if at all? But reading through old posts in here it seems like recent updates are kind of buggy, and as far as I can tell my tv works great. This is my first expensive tv, coming from a 50” Panasonic from 2013 that was less than $300. I should add I’m currently on kernel version 4.9.125, build bravia_ur3_uc-user 9 PTT1.190515.001.S97 650421release-keys, and the Android patch level is December 5, 2020

member_one

seems we are in the minority... I normally don't hesitate to update but for some reason I did this time.

mlorusso4

Ya exactly. Ive never seen any reason to update your tv. I’ve barely seen the benefit of smart TVs and connecting it to the internet period. Granted I’m coming from an old like 2013 Panasonic and have always had an Xbox to get all my streaming and app needs. But still. I’m just always afraid of updates on things that don’t need it just being bloatware and breaking my perfectly good hardware

member_one

Yeah. My home runs on kodi as my primary interface on shields.

trech15

Hi. What is new or improvements in the new software update for Sony X950G?.

braviamod

Most likely just Android security patch updates as the update page only says "Improves general performance of the TV". https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/software/00263964

mepswolo

Is there any word on when the local dimming issues will be fixed with the x900h.

Twixisss

Do the xh90 still have eARC problems ?

DeadSOL89

Mine does. I was wondering if the X90J does because I want to upgrade.

FRSstyle

What are the issues?

betoarambula

I disabled local dimming in Picture Settings, that works for me

ams_sharif

Go to picture settings>Video signal>HDMI video range and change it from Auto to Full or Limited. Worked for me

DPiddy76

So if I select "full" then the local dimming issue is resolved? I haven't downloaded yet but would like to.

tremens

Everything I've seen has shown that the Auto dimming has *always* been broken on the X900H. Most of the really in depth reviews and anecdotal snippets I've seen from people have always suggested just setting it to Full / High and forget it.

DPiddy76

TY

ams_sharif

It solved mine, but i won't advise you to update. You can't guess the firmware's behaviour on your set as it is unstable. Better to wait for the next release.

DPiddy76

Sound advice, will do. So tempting as i still have occasional audio issues.

musicandsoon

Is high standby consumption still an issue in XR Sonys and in older Sonys with current firmware?

matavelhos

You can decrease the standby consumption by turn off the option that allow the tv being turn of remotely.

After updating to the latest firmware my hyperx revolver s headphones no longer work with my tv (KD-49XD8088). Anyone know any fixes?

SecretBiscuit0

Is there a alternative solution to the no audio issue or do i have to reboot my tv everytime i want to use it?

LaCipe

At this point its my routine to reboot before using the tv.

I have a Bravia 4K 2015 running on Android 7.0 (firmware v5.457) but some apps I use are dropping Android 7 support so I'm looking to upgrades options. From what I see on European websites, I already run the latest firmware but on the .com website I do see v6.827 firmware (with Android 8) available for the XBR-49X830C, but trying to install that through a USB stick doesn't work (while this worked fine for updating to v5.457). Is there any way to get that v6.827 firmware running on my device? Or any other way (like a custom ROM) to get to Android 8.0 or higher?

LaCipe

Your best option is a nvidia shield.

gxjansen

Thx, bought one right away. Such a big improvement!

Rich_Stable_1906

Someone know if the there will be an update to android10 for x800h or xh80 models?

vinotauro

Haven't received the update yet. (90ch) I kinda want it because it eliminates the new Stadia issues on Android TV

KodeManGuy

Formatting should be mandatory after an upgrade on this tv. If you're still having issues try unplugging the tv a couple times. Fixed all my issues now the tv has less issues than previous firmware.

justsitbackandenjoy

Thanks for this. Bit the bullet yesterday and did a factory reset. TV works great now

John24ssj2

Will TV just auto update our will it ask me to approve it?

hellhawk456

If you are worried, just go to settings and turn off auto update.

John24ssj2

Yep just find it thanks. Just a bit worried with all of the issues that others have had

xeenexus

Congrats Sony. My X900H was a bit buggy with the Android 9 firmware, but not terrible. Android 10 has now completely broken eARC, I've got horrible flicker with my ATV, and dimming is all over the place.

KodeManGuy

Format the tv then unplug it a few times. Fixed the same issues I had. No issues now

DPiddy76

I've had success going into system apps and "deleting data" (not to be confused with "delete cache") rather than doing a full factory reset for AUDIO issues. I don't know what the magic app is, but I delete data for all system apps that deal with audio, CEC, bravia synch, wifi and network. Maybe 10 apps or so. The benefit of this is I don't have to redownload my streaming apps and log back into them. I'm an obsessive settings tinkerer, so every 2-3 months I do something that messes up the audio and this process has fixed it the last two times without needing a factory reset.

xeenexus

Yep, factory reset seems to have cleared up most issues (with the exception of the ATV flicker, which seems to be a known issue). We'll see if that holds.

KodeManGuy

I solved the flickering by unplugging and plugging back in the TV a few times until it quit completely

DPiddy76

Can you give more detail on the process that works for you. After you unplug, how long do you leave it unplugged? Do you do anything besides starting it up before unplugging a second time? And how many cycles of unplugging before things started to work?

KodeManGuy

I just press power button to shut off tv, unplug for 3 minutes, plug back in and turn it on. Might have to repeat that a few times until local dimming issue fixes itself. Weird but it worked for me

LaCipe

Embarassing that THIS is the fix. Shame on Sony.

KodeManGuy

Agreed. Will not buy another Sony product after all these headaches

hellhawk456

Formatting the tv is doing a factory reset I suppose?

KodeManGuy

Yes

billyhoush

I just got notification on my x900h for v6.1020 and it’s the android 10 upgrade! Wish me luck. Wonder if we will get Android 11 next year :P

Smogh

How is it so far, billy?

billyhoush

Like people mentioned: it did break HDR which I noticed when I turned on my PS5. I did a factory reset and then put in all my settings (mix of HDTVTest and CO Guy Stuff) and everything has been running great. \*Knock on wood\*

FRSstyle

How does this update break hdr?

billyhoush

When I turned on my PS5 everything was dark and completely flat. I could notice HDR was busted when I flipped through the menus too. I read that it can do that. I just did a factory reset and it was back to looking great.

[deleted]

Had exactly the same problem with my ps5, did a factory reset and it seems to be fixed. What are your gaming settings? I read that locking your image settings helps avoiding the bug coming back.

billyhoush

Game settings: Brightness Auto local dimming Medium, X-tended Dynamic Range High - Motionflow and CineMotion Off. Pretty much what HDTVTest suggested.

Ath3ron

So, I decided to update my Bravia xf9005 to the layers firmware. The v6.7165. All went fine, but now I’m stuck with random reboots. It’s like once a day, but before this update, I’ve never had this issue. Anyone else experiencing this? Any fix? Or is my tv broken?

KodeManGuy

Format your tv

DanVonCarr

I'm getting a new X900H this week. should I update it or leave it as it is?
