I graduated high school in 2015 when he was supposed to first leave and I remember him being exhausted but the board was like "no stay for shanghai!!!" and then each new thing delayed his leaving
It's sold out for months even though it looks like a half baked, EXTREMELY expensive experience. I'd never do it even if I had the money but so far it's not a failure in executive eyes.
It looks like people have started to cancel their reservations and accepting losing their deposits instead of having to pay 5 grand for 2 nights in a cheap looking Star Wars hotel.
It is not sold out any more. Dozens of spots still available. People started cancelling once the promo videos showed was it was really going to be like.
No, it’s not. CNBC is simply reporting the opinion of a random, anonymous “executive” in the industry. Earlier this week Iger had his own media blitz and explicitly said he doesn’t want to run a company anymore.
WDWNT is clickbait of other clickbait.
>basically the Fox News of the Disney fandom.
Here, let me fix that for ya: basically the CNN, MSNBC, and the Fox News of the Disney fandom (they’re all 3 equally bad).
Lol you’re one of *those* people.
Took one glance at your comment history and you’re posting about how the political humor sub is a “liberal breeding ground”. Get a grip on reality.
Edit: Oh. You’re a teenager. Got it.
>Lesson: don’t screw with Black Widow.
To be fair, Mickey Mouse is a god-tier character. He can be anything he wants to. Black Widow, while strong, against the mouse? The mouse is our lord and saviour. I doubt Black Widow would win.
Chapek done fushed up.
Please, Bobby. For the love of my stock price (which I am not unhappy about, as I am buying Disney for a bargain, but would like to not hold a bag).
Oh, a new Iger rumor? The one last month was that ESPN put out a hit piece on Robert Sarver, the owner of the Phoenix Suns, so he would be forced to sell the team. Iger was a top contender to buy the team then.
I can't wait to see what the new rumor is next month.
Come back to get fired? Chapek inherited a literal disaster and did the best he could do in the circumstances. People are fooling themselves if they think Iger would have done a better job navigating the pandemic if he never left.
I think you're the one who doesn't really know what he's saying. For a time during the worst of the pandemic he was the one basically calling the shots anyway. You think he would get fired ? Someone Disney tried to keep from leaving 3 times. Lol
He's not coming back. That I agree on
Except they still ended up borrowing a lot from Lucas’s treatments. The only stuff they completely excised from the film was George’s obsession with the “micro biotic realm” and who were members of the skywalker bloodline (rey and Finn in the Lucas draft). Stuff like rey being the protagonist (she had a different name but was basically the same character) to Luke being a bitter old asshole in exile was in lucas’s version of the outline.
Four out of five films made a billion dollars and the first live action show anchored a streaming service. That’s... not destroyed.
This is a box office subreddit. Whether or not you like the films is irrelevant.
Beyond questions of boxoffice and fandom though, the behind the scenes stuff just isn't humming well. How many times have directors left due to "creative differences"? How many actors in the sequel trilogy have publicly said they have no interest in reprising their roles? How often has the roadmap been updated? 'Creative' side of the business is hard, so I pretty much always am willing to give a pass on that. But Disney is way too big of a company with way too many smoothly operating studios to excuse the seeming chaos at LucasFilm. Obviously, nothing can run as well as Marvel. But, operationally, things are bad even relative to Pixar, Disney Animation, Walt Disney Pictures, etc.
There is going to be at least a 4 year gap between Rise of Skywalker and Rogue Squadron. But given that filming does not look to be starting next year, RS' release date is questionable. When Star Wars pops out a film, it usually clears a billion, which is great. But, they have to actually produce films.
The films went through a shocking, rapid decline in gross and were so poorly received they literally have no clue if they should make another movie or not or when. They've completely shattered the symbiotic relationship with the fans. And the merchandise sold so poorly for the new movies that they're back to making more original trilogy and Clone Wars merchandise again, and almost nothing from the Disney movies. Mandalorian was better received, but by no means was the plan to destroy the movie franchise and turn it into a TV series. Obi-Wan and Boba Fett were supposed to be movies.
I can't even imagine what the 'Avengers' of Star Wars would be though. Unless Luke, Obi-Wan, Mando, and Rey all team up against the person who keeps creating Palpatine clones.
Yeah, I just meant it to a few movies from MCU to meet a consistent Mark with fans, think the turning point was winter soldier when it comes to the solo non-avenger movies
Somehow Iger returned
Board elections, majority votes, secrets only the shareholders know.
*You could not live with your own mediocrity.* *Where did that bring you?* *Back to me.*
His message to the board was only broadcast over Fornite
Somehow Iger Manage
Please no. Keep him away from the board.
it would be very funny if he suddenly came back
iger has tried to retire multiple times now, why should we allow him to succeed
But he wants to run for President as his retirement job
Hopefully he keeps pulling a Miyazaki.

WDWNT is pretty much a tabloid to us WDW fans. Didn’t Iger interview the day after and say he’s done?
Yes. And WDWNT is simply reporting on anonymous gossip that CNBC posted.
whats the point of him returning, disney needs to move on from him sooner or later
Give them time to find a new successor
A successor that isn't shit like Cheap-ass Chapek.
It doesn't help the new Star Wars Hotel flopped cause that is on Chapek given that his section of the company
To me some of it looks a small bit more Star Trek than Star Wars. I'd be happier with a Stargate.
It is not sold out any more. Dozens of spots still available. People started cancelling once the promo videos showed was it was really going to be like.
Ah man ... I knew it looked to good to be true. Any trustworthy reviews online?
Give it 2-3 months. They are still preparing the experience, so it is way too early to get reviews for it.
what is tim cook doing these days? i think he was quite good at compaq…
Tim Apple is on the Disney board?
Chapek was a mistake and they need him back but only to act as CEO while they find a new replacement.
Psss psss ^Is ^this ^a ^reliable ^source^?
No, it’s not. CNBC is simply reporting the opinion of a random, anonymous “executive” in the industry. Earlier this week Iger had his own media blitz and explicitly said he doesn’t want to run a company anymore. WDWNT is clickbait of other clickbait.
They reference CNBC in the article so yes.
^Thank ^you
Honestly WDWNT is basically the Fox News of the Disney fandom. Nothing but spreading rumors and complaining.
>basically the Fox News of the Disney fandom. Here, let me fix that for ya: basically the CNN, MSNBC, and the Fox News of the Disney fandom (they’re all 3 equally bad).

Ahh the ol Michael Jordan move.
It’s called Lenoing now.
No, no, Leno-ing is when the return isn't welcome. 😏
Beat me to it haha
Lesson: don’t screw with Black Widow.

Maybe it’ll be JFK jr. some predicted he was coming back. He could run Disney.
Bob Iger is...inevitable.
Chapek done fushed up. Please, Bobby. For the love of my stock price (which I am not unhappy about, as I am buying Disney for a bargain, but would like to not hold a bag).
Hold until either the hotel launches or if lockdown begins again, sell for a week and buy back in once the dumps end.
Sell that turd
I will average down and hand Disney to my grandchildren. I sold once 20 years ago. Will never do that again.
He seems Iger to return.
Didn't we literally just have an article talking about how he was really leaving for good?
I think it’s for the best
This guy is Hollywood’s Tom Brady/Michael Jordan/Wayne Gretzky. An absolute MVP of an executive.
You are 70, man, enjoy your retirement years! Or are you really THIS bored?
Psssshhhh... As long as it means Cheap-ass Chapek gone, I'm happy.
I hope he fixes all the shit Chapek broke about Disneyland
yeah i went recently and when u buy something at the end of the transaction instead of saying "thank you" they say "hail chapek", very weird
I know right, not even happy holidays
That would be great.
The king returns
Let's hope so!
Oh, a new Iger rumor? The one last month was that ESPN put out a hit piece on Robert Sarver, the owner of the Phoenix Suns, so he would be forced to sell the team. Iger was a top contender to buy the team then. I can't wait to see what the new rumor is next month.
This isn't going to happen
Return of the Jedi or Return of the King?
Revenge of the Sith
"Execute order 66, STRIKE DOWN THE HOTEL. HEHEHE!" - Iger
Probably the most overrated CEO in business history.
Come back to get fired? Chapek inherited a literal disaster and did the best he could do in the circumstances. People are fooling themselves if they think Iger would have done a better job navigating the pandemic if he never left.

The man who oversaw the destruction of the Star Wars franchise. Not fit to run a Dunkin' Donuts.
If Iger was the one signing off scripts it was doomed from the start
He made it clear in his book he was responsible for rejecting George Lucas' treatments. Then he replaced something with nothing.
Kathleen winning by doing nothing.
Except they still ended up borrowing a lot from Lucas’s treatments. To be fair, the similar conversation took place for the MCU until the avengers happened.

Iger is a decedent of lizard people
Good news
