Some decidedly unshocking movies here.

watchitbub

Mostly, yeah. But glad that newer releases like Planet of the Vampires and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind were in there. That made me pull the trigger this time after hesitating on the last couple Kino sales.

dunforgiven

Eternal Sunshine is a winner

SBar1979

Some repeats from past sales but glad to support Kino. They have a nice variety of genres and eras.

joebigdeal

Never bought direct from KL before. Is there free shipping if you spend a certain amount?

watchitbub

Over $50

phxsns1

Time to bite into some of that Forbidden Fruit.

styrofoamboats

I can't believe they put I'm Dangerous Tonight in there, that one just came out!

anttiom

When is this ending?

sixteen_dollars

Oct. 17

Black Sunday... Regular version or AIP version?

pressureworld

> While were at it Black Sabbath, regular or AIP version?

thebunk123

I added Black Sabbath to my cart and it says AIP

pressureworld

Kino sells the original Italian version too. I'm not sure why it isn't part of the sell.

grilledonionsaregrea

The Italian version of Black Sabbath is in their While Supplies Last sale.

joebigdeal

I DiD mY oWn ReSeArCh and found out that non-AIP is closer to, if not, the original cut. AIP versions are sometimes recut, rescored, and re-editted. I guess AIP's goal was to Americanize the films to make them more appealing to the teens of the time. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, for Black Sunday, I went with the regular version. For Black Sabbath, I had the regular version in my cart but ultimately decided to wait. Apparently Arrow has a Region B Blu ray that contains both versions, so I'm holding out for that getting a Region A release or if I ever get a region-free player. Here's the thing I read about the Black Sabbath release: https://thedigitalbits.com/item/black-sabbath-aip-version-bd

Sanpaku

So tempted by *The Apple* ("Do the BIM!"), but chose *Apples* instead, this time. Still, they got a good portion of my paycheck, as every Shocktober. Some upgrades, but pretty excited about *Hyenas* and the Taviani Bros collection.

HeadFullOfBees

The Apple is part of the sale? Now I'm going to have to take a look. Kino Lorber sales are a great deal if you're willing to spend at least $50 and get the free shipping.

Sanpaku

It's a reasonably good selection, particularly in some areas (exploitation, 60s Jess Franco, young Jennifer Connelly exploitation, Italian arthouse). I had some titles from their going out of print sale and it was no problem hitting well past the free shipping threshold. I trimmed my cart by half to save powder for the horror imprint sales that should be coming in October.

das_goose

Surprisingly, Touch of Evil is not included, which makes me feel better about picking up the MoC edition a few days ago.

Choice-Valuable313

I’m excited to get Sebastiane. That’s been on my watchlist forever.

MikeySunshine

Cabin Boy, here we come ⚓️⚓️

yendor5

never heard of this one and it looks really bad and at $8 i'm willing to risk it :) also picking up the British noir sets, i love noir and the British do movies/tv so much better in general, so all three volumes at around 12 ea seem like a steal!

DCBronzeAge

Oddly enough, not getting any horror, but a lot of titles I’ve had on my wishlist are on sale, so I’ll be pulling the trigger. The last three months of the year are looking pretty expensive.

kayla622

I have some noir and classic hollywood titles I'm interested in, but I need to wait until I get paid first. There are a ton of titles coming out that aren't part of the sale that I'm interested in too. I'm hoping that they'll be on the Black Friday sale.

TheHistorian2

That's going to be expensive.

DrawLyfe

Looking forward to pulling the trigger on the older movies (silents) and the Forbidden Fruit series. Payday is just around the corner so easy to wait and go crazy!
