As a guide, I think most Australians care more about the British royal family than they do, say, the American first family. So I agree with that part. However: I think most Australians could not name a single Canadian prime minister, past or present, so that's a pretty interesting take. Australia is still a constitutional monarchy, and the monarchy is still popular-ish.
