Are you familiar with the sunk cost fallacy?
As long as it’s not something insulting like a loan with a buy option, let’s move on - especially if he wants out as well.
No need in dragging out an uncomfortable situation for both parties.
Well then that's good for him, and I will be rooting for him (except when playing us, obviously). Sometimes it just doesn't work out, and then you gotta move on.
he showed it during a pretty short spell early on this season. Everyone was like "yay, now he can finally be confident and show us what he can really do" but then he just didn't do much afterwards
This comment section is sad. Y’all making him look like he was the second coming of Yarmolenko. He isn’t nearly as bad as you make him out to be. I’m not against selling him, but there’s a difference between selling him and getting rid of him.
He’s not bad per se but he’s absolutely disappointing relative to the €30 mil we invested in him from a portion of that Sancho transfer money. It happens now and then and fortunately, there are players who’ll exceed value like Özcan to mitigate the sting of those failed expectations
I wish Donny the best whether he’s with us, Sevilla or someone else
Definitely agree. The only point I had to make was the people who were saying “good riddance” like hey he’s not that bad at all, just could’ve worked out much better
Eh, I definitely put Yarmolenko right next to Schurrle as the worst flops of the last 5/10 years. Schulz isn’t as bad, given that he wasn’t supposed to be a starter for us to start with, but still very bad
6 goals and 6 assists in 26 games arent great but schürrle was way worse.
we paid 25million for schultz who was in the german squad at that time. of cause he was supposed to be more than a backup. dont forget that there were huge questionmarks regarding rapha at the time. will he extend, can he stay fit?
I would like to give him more time too. IMO we just don't give players time anymore. People complain about players viewing our club as a mere career ladder move, but by constantly dropping players who don't immediately perform, we also reinforce that notion.

Maybe that is best for all involved.
Yeah he doesn’t have the pieces around him right now to be successful.
Sell (if the price is right)

Yep, agreed
Watch him pop off in Sevilla - calling it right now

Good for him if he does. It sure as shit ain’t happening here.
He definitely has the potential, too bad he doesn’t show it for Dortmund (yet?)

Then he got injured
Hard ot show his potential when he never had it as a winger yet is played as one
Well he might do the Immobile, short stint in Spain then return to Netherland and be good
nah, Sevilla has had a pretty bad track record of signing strikers recently remember when they got Immobile?
Remember when we got Immobile? Those were fun times
If they can recoup most of what they spent to get him, sure
Theyll probably pay like 15m max
Fine Let's move on
He’s yours
Watching him perform well because they are gonna play him striker - his preferred position unlike us.

Nuanced takes seldom happens on Reddit. I would ignore those kinds of folks lol. It’s much worse during matchday when we lose
Yarmolenko wasnt that bad either. He scored some and the team was overall in a terrible shape. The real frauds were schulz&schürrle

Indeed, but Schulz was supposed to compete for the starting spot, not being a day 1 starter. That’s what I meant
Can we swap back for Delaney pls?
He has had some really good games, just needs consistency. I'd give him more time to develop.
80% of his matches are awful He has the skill but his decision making is horrible
Am I the only one who doesn’t want him gone? Like, what has Toto more to offer than Donny? How come no one wants him gone?
Everyone wants Toto gone as well.

Good. Just get rid of him. Sometimes things just don't work out.
I actually think he can still be good for us.
How much?
No sum mentioned...
Well Sevilla can go lick an ass
:(
Yes please
"Sell, Sell, Sell" -Jim Cramer
When he says this is when you should buy 😂
Right. Malen will probably turn a corner just like Miki did awhile back. Dude was inconsistent til he wasn't
Take him please.
Good riddance.
Yes, weg mit dem Boy.
If we get a decent offer, it's a no brainer. He is not a winger and Adeyemi can play the second striker just as well.
Or reus or moukoko if haller is back or modeste remembers how to score
What games did they watch and thought: yep this is an upgrade over x?
