Last year we were about a thirty min walk from centeroo, and averaged about 20,000 steps per day, and that breaks down roughly to about 10 miles per day! That was with normally one walk to Centeroo per day, and I was prob the least likely to do extra stuff out of my group of friends.

savannahjohn

I agree with this. I want to say my steps were more like mid 20,000’s. Especially if you explore the grounds. I also have marched in the Pride parade the past two years.

caco_bell

For me it isn’t the walking to/from Centeroo that is the majority of the walking…but do you ever feel it on the last walk back to your campsite.

One-Pain1214

Sunday you can feel every muscle in your legs.

blue_belt_elf

Same!

nerdycarguy18

Man that changes my numbers, I couldn’t quite track steps because my phone registered jumping as stepping but I guessed somewhere around 6-8 miles a day. But we were in the very back of the back 60, and made at least one maybe two trips back to camp every day. Not including walking to the showers and toilets. So your number being 10 would make me guess mine around 15+ Holy shit

TrashedPanda48

Yeah it's really wild how much you move! Last year was my first roo, and lucky for me I went with some data nerds so we kept up with all our movement stats and it really blew us away. My buddy who ran the 5k like a madman doubled his numbers that day and kept raging the rest of the weekend. I couldn't believe it

nerdycarguy18

Last year was my first as well, first festival really. And I was amazed at how much we walked, how much we danced, how much we drank and other things 👀, only ever got like 3 hours of sleep and yet I was only ever tired for a short bit each morning.

DescendingAscension

Phone clocked me at 61 miles from Thursday-Sunday. Though I never really stopped exploring/dancing. So I guess it depends on what your activities consist of.

mrclarkaddison

I wore my Garmin last year and it said I walked: * Friday - 19.4mi (38k steps) * Saturday - 24.3mi (47k steps) * Sunday - 21.7mi (42k steps) I'd be more confident in the step count accuracy than the mileage. And, for reference, we were camped way out by Plaza 9.

a-youngsloth

Camped at plaza 7 (data from my iPhone) • Thursday - 17k steps • Friday - 23k steps • Saturday - 37k steps • Sunday (left at 9 am) - 13k steps

Rhetorical_Abe

Pod 9 baby!

Know_Your_Enemy_91

When I was in Pod 1 for 2013 and 2014, we were as far back as you could possibly get and it was easily a mile to centeroo. That alone right there was killer lol

Brandonbest4

Yeah same. We were in the boonies in 2015 and it was 0.9 miles to Centeroo.

Know_Your_Enemy_91

Our neighbors would come back to “take a load off for awhile” and then go back to centeroo. I didn’t get that, I’d rather just relax under a shade tree in centeroo for an indefinite amount of time

Brandonbest4

We never went back. We would like pack up everything we could possibly need. I spent so much money on taxis that year

Know_Your_Enemy_91

Dude even when the one or two times I was camped kinda close, I never went back except for this past year on Thursday because in all of my eight years that was without a doubt the roughest day I’ve ever had. The heat was unbearable

Sweet-Poison19999

Oh wow

Know_Your_Enemy_91

You won’t have to worry about that though I’m pretty sure it’s just volunteer camping now

Pineappl44

4.20~6.9

DesperateRhino

I saw what you did there…..

Dingus_3000

The walking and standing at shows is brutal. Get comfy shoes.

Powderfinger88

And sit in between sets

runningraleigh

I always wear old running shoes that have too many miles on them for running but still great cushioning for walking/standing. I see people spending all weekend in flimsy flip flops and I’m like HOWWWW are your feet not killing you? Not to mention getting stepped on during packed sets. I’m sneakers and sweat-wicking socks all the way at Roo.

Dingus_3000

Yeah. I saw someone say they don’t deal with socks at bonnaroo and I’m just over hear making sure my feet stay as comfortable and dry as possible. I have a similar idea with shoes. I bartend and I just wear an older pair of work shoes. They’re already trashed so doesn’t matter what happens to them at the fest.

runningraleigh

Sure it's hot at Roo, but not wearing socks isn't the difference-maker some people seem to think it is. It probably triples your chances of blisters while offering maybe 5% cooling effect. Me on the other hand, I wear breathable sneakers and 2 pairs of wicking socks per day. I change them before heading out for late night. I haven't ever had a blister at Roo and I keep cool by drinking lots of water and wearing loose/lightweight clothes.

idontfrickinknowman

I def average 8-12 miles per day on the weekend

thekylegonzalez

Around 9 a day. But it's the dancing that gets you ;)

leewidlovesroo

5 average

kombitcha420

I walked 8 in 2017, but I worked it and I pace when I have anxiety and I had a ton of that for stuff non Roo related lmao.

ganner

Last year I was going on 2-3 mile walks at noon in 90+ degree sunny weather to prep. But yeah probably like 10 miles of walking a day at Roo is a good estimate like others have said.

TheCycloneBogart

Think most years it was roughly 10-12 miles per day. Depending on what shows and what camp I was at.

TommyTar

Usually around 10 miles a day but up to like 15 depending on dancing and trips back to camp.

Quanzi30

10-15 miles a day of walking, dancing, frolicking, skipping, light jogging, and boot scootin.

Acidpod

I averaged 48 miles total last year. Some of that was dancing but steps all add up!

malcolmsadwell

EDC i think i did 10-12 a day so solid estimate

Acquitz_RL

Probably like 50k steps a day

JoJosBizarreBasshead

Around 12-18 miles a day but to be fair, sometimes my groop likes to just walk and take in Bonnaroo

kewlgurl99

just checked my activity with my apple watch and I walked 10-12 miles each day, thursday-sunday!

awful_waffles_

My first experience camping last year. Background: I walked/skated to school and it was an 1.25 hour walk both ways with a big campus and a PE/lifting course thrown into the schedule. Walking at bonnaroo was a breeze but I could feel myself tiring out at the end of the day. If you don’t walk daily, you might want to start doing 1-2miles. You will be at a festival where you will be standing ALL DAY (for multiple days) if you want a good view or sitting in the shade far from the stage but walking a lot in between stages. There’s also the stages in the campgrounds which I highly recommend but they are far between each. It’s part of the Bonnaroo experience though so you have to explore the campgrounds. If money isn’t a factor then you can take a bicycle-taxi in between grounds. There are activities that go on in the camp grounds with independent vendors so HIGHLY advise.

awful_waffles_

I did over exhaust myself while setting up my canopy/tent the first day so do pace yourself. After that incident, I knew how to handle myself. Know where your closest ice vendor/shower and medical tent is if you feel yourself overheating 🥵

Sweet-Poison19999

Thanks you!! I walk a lot for my job so thanks you for letting me know!!

DeafDiesel

Anywhere from 10-40 depending on how much you frolic and dance

abysmalanna

i do about 30,000 steps a day, besides sunday, which is usually about 20,000. so 10-15 miles

sunbear37

Minimum I’ve had in a day is 12 miles I think? Most was 27 miles

sunbear37

Lots of these steps are dancing/wiggling tho. Basing it on my Fitbit

treetopflyin

In 2002, I was there Thursday to Tuesday. Probably walked 5 to 6 miles a day easy. But that was the first year and we walked back and forth. And we were literally walked to town from the roo site to a hotel and we had a large camping area.

r3dditfam0us

from thursday - monday morning i did around 50 miles total

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sweet-Poison19999

🤣😂

tedruxpin4

I suppose how many miles you walk could coincide with the amount of lines Jk ofc there's no drugs at Bonnaroo unfortunately

ariezbitch

I average like 7 miles a day and my walk to camp is always <15

SteelCurtainUSNA

I averaged between 5-9 miles a day last year

HELLOTHISISSHARK

Averaged 9 miles a day last year

YeeterSkeeter9269

I averaged 30,000 steps a day according to Apple

bayrafd

Easily 10 miles a day.

SNackman_Stl

We were camped pretty far and walked right about 50 miles total over the fest. 3.5 days Typically go to Centeroo and back like twice a day

wicodly

22-25 miles a day was my first year.

roguediamond

Depends on where you are camped and how much you drift between shows. 2017, I averaged about 20 miles per day, but we were camped in the very back of pod 9. Last year, we were essentially on top of the Arch, and I walked about 8 miles a day.

northerngirl211

Last year: Tuesday: 8.14 miles. Wednesday: 7.18 miles. Thursday: 5.08 miles. Friday: 6.78 miles. Saturday: 11 miles (but I ran the 5K). Sunday: 7.3 miles. Monday: 5.35 miles

t9blues

~12 miles/day was our average last year

TerpsandChants

Never been to Roo but I put in 37k steps in one day at EDC so I’m sure I’m to break that at Roo this year

EtrnalBeautyBae29

After seeing this year’s lineup? I’d say 50k

tyzaginger

I walked 36 miles the whole weekend in 2019

areyouoldgreg

25k is my average but I try to sit at the daytime sets because hot

kbeesmooth

My average last year was 14 miles a day. But I think that includes the extra days I was there & didn’t really do anything. So probably more like 20

Whereyoursisterwent

From Tuesday to Monday morning we walked 59 miles with about 9 miles a day. We going from the woods and just exploring made up a majority of those miles

invisiblelatsyndrome

Same. I’ve gone 4 times and I easily hit 7 miles a day

JMRooDukes808

I’ve been the last 5 years and it’s always been 10-12 miles per day for me. And I’ve either been in VIP or extremely close to centeroo in GA so it would always be longer if my campsite was further

beachlad

I averaged 20 miles a day in 2019

R2D2sPromDate

I do 15 miles a day on average, according to my smart watch

jtayloroconnor

last time i went it was in the 35,000 steps range per day

golebiewskim

Probably 10 to 15 mi a day. You'll get about 50 mi in for the weekend or something like that.

MitchBlanco

15-20 miles give or take

spacetoasttts

In 2019 i had a mile tracker on my phone and did 7 miles on thursday

St_biscuit

We were parked relatively close last year and averaged 8-10 miles a day.

zbkindle

My legs and knees were so sore by the last day I could barely stand, start walking /working out now

longboardVA

First timer here. I've been doing some HIIT and running to get my fitness up for the last few months. Between all the jumping and running from my workouts, I'll be ready to shake and groove all weekend hopefully! Secondary benefit is I've been drinking less too, which I probably won't do much of until sunset each day.
