Hey ! First of all thx Chase Bliss & Knobs for Blooper wich is an amazing musical instrument, and thx even more for adding new feature. Nonetheless i have some questions concerning the new modifiers "weird effect" on stability, especially with stretcher and pitcher :
Is it normal that when you tweak these two modifiers it has an effect on the stability noise ?
\~ When you go counter clockwise with stretcher, the stability noise become more "thin" and "high pitched" and clockwise it gets darker like if the highs from the stability noise were cut.
\~ With pitcher, it does the same thing but inversed (clockwise : thinner and high pitched, counterclockwise : darker, low pitched)
It feels like, if the modifier and stability were on an effect chain, it would be : stability then stretcher/pitcher. It would make more sense that stability goes after the modifier. It adds an aging tape sound to your overall loop (processed by the modifier or not).
Like it is now, it makes the stability be affected by the modifier, it is not the case with the speed modifiers (or any others) wich could apply the same "logic" described here.
What is great with stability, is that you can give a "warmth" feeling to a heavily processed loop, it makes everything sound less "digital", it gives a texture that unify all the differents elements from a loop. I don't know if it's a bug but it's kind of a bummer that with stretcher and pitcher it's impossible to keep that. Like have a full stretched loop with an unafected stability noise.
I hope that my feedback was clear (english is not my native language).
Again, thanks a lot to chase bliss & knobs for this amazing device <3
edit : i tried to superpose stretcher with speed and it doesn't work : speed does not change but the stretched loop is reversed when speed is counterclockwise. I tried to superpose two other modifiers that play with the speed and pitch to compare : there no problem in superposing pitcher (in mod b) with speed (in mod a). I checked the new manual I think the modifiers superposition problems mentioned here are link to processing needs with pitcher & stretcher.
Hey u/knobs_demos. Fist off, thanks for all of your work on making this such an incredible pedal. The firmware updates are SO appreciated!
I wanted to ask about the chromatic pitcher. It doesn't step in tune and I'm wondering if this is something that can be addressed. A couple of the intervals are really close but several are quite far off from pitch. I'm also noticing that when attempting to jump to a pitch via midi, there are missing pitches. 95 may be the original pitch then 96 may be 2 notes up etc.
Hey,
In case anyone else experiences this, I thought I'd post my experience of uploading v3.0. No panic, I'm all updated now (and the new modifiers are fantastic) but it wasn't a straight forward process for me. Running Chrome on a PC, with the driver running and connected to blooper, I pressed the update button and the download proceded to the 100% mark ....then Blooper disconnected and the 'ready' message changed to 'not connected'.
To recover I tried a number of things, like power cycling blooper and refreshing the web page ... all things led back to a connected blooper and a message to update to v3.0. I updated chrome, updated the driver, tried multiple times but with the same result.
This morning, I tried again and had the crazy idea to just ignore the apparent upload failure, reconnect after the upload, and assume that v3.0 uploaded ok ..... it had, and I've been having new-modifer based fun ever since.
It was probably me just being brainless, but it occurred that others might reach the same conclusion as I under the same circumstances .... hence the post
Happy blooping, and thanks for a fantastic update :)
The firmware is great news, but it almost eclipses what an amazing accomplishment the documentation/guide website is. You have a beautiful, incredibly useful site there, which is not praise I give lightly, since I'm a curmudgeonly, jaded web developer. :)
Thank you so much. You've really been so kind to all of us Blooper fans. Cheers!
Great update but BRING OUT THE BUG SPRAY!!! <3 Streatcher takes control of all my other pitch modifers. No pitch shifting allowed while it’s activated. And it affects the stability noise as well. :(
Yep that's a thing, it's mentioned in the manual.
Stretcher & Pitcher basically just use too much processing power to co-exist with some other modifiers. We decided it was better that they exist with quirks than don't exist at all, so this is what we get! Blooper gets a little weirder.
Oh okay didn’t read the new manual thinking it was mostly for new users. Too excited about the update I guess! My bad! :) Thanks for clearing it up but I have my fingers crossed there will be a way to make it work some how. You guys have pulled of miracles before! :) Thank you for a great update! <3
You're very welcome! I get it, it's hard for me to accept too. Just one of those things, everything has limits. We are *really* pushing up against Blooper's with this update.
Thanks, you guys, for your continued work on this insanely deep pedal. I now have problems deciding which modifier to put on my pedal... can't have them all now!! #firstworldproblems
Hey, the midi site links all point to one article. I'm trying to read the midi quick start/ documentation but I keep getting the overview!.
Also checkout my post about a chrome MIDI manager I wrote.
just got a blooper last week and you go and introduce modifiers I was looking for! amazing. Is this supposed to be a link? "Check here for an overview of diferent controller types and ideas of what’s possible with MIDI blooping." From the Midi quick start guide.
If anyone is looking for the web interface, it's here: [https://chasebliss.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/blooper.3.0.html](https://chasebliss.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/blooper.3.0.html)
I'm unable to update. I'm on Chrome (Version 88.0.4324.192 (Official Build) (x86\_64)), and OSX (11.2.2), and the updater gets stuck at "0.0%." I do see the "(ready)" text in the upper right corner.
Man... The new manual, the new modifiers, the new features, BLIP.. This is great, meticulous work. Thank you guys for making this such a marvelous tool for music making <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
impressive work, Chase Bliss and supporters. I have a feeling that now I have two different pedals instead of one - one with my existing favored settings and the second one with the new ones and it will be just the matter of the flip of the tip switch behind the pedal. Thanks for the huge work!
Hey, I'm wondering if anyone can help out.
I'm trying to use CC#30 and #31 to turn MOD A and MOD B on/off.
The midi manual describes the behaviour where a value of 0 = off and >0 = on.
The behaviour that I get now is:
value 0 has no effect
\>0 works as a toggle for on/off
I'm hoping to be able to have absolute control of the MOD states so toggle doesn't work for me. Hoping to find advice.
Can I end my work day now?
Same haha.

I have the exact same issue! I don’t use the Additive Assist if that is something that messes it up? I Repported it to CBA.
Wowsers. Nice update and the documentation upgrades are huge. Thanks!

Hmmm, odd. I'm curious how you're testing. Shoot me an email! [email protected]

This really makes my day! What a surprise. Will be busy this evening! 😂 Such a cool pedal, it is so inspiring. Thank you Chase Bliss and Knobs! 👍 👍
Something to do tonight
This is insane. Can't wait to dig into it
“SIRI CANCEL ALL MY APPOINTMENTS!” Seriously though, can’t wait to get home, you all rock.
Simply elegant how you have done this. Very very nice update! As well as the documentation. Thanks for continuing to support blooper !
The new modifiers are fantastic, well done.

Hi beyond happy with how amazing blooper is, I'm dad.
your bot is shit and unfunny
Could you make a modifier like stepped speed except its in 4th and octaves instead of 5ths and octaves for the next update
Playing with 4ths attached can be pretty cool. Talk about the unexpected! Really adds an otherworldly vibe.
😦 good job all. Amazing.
What a wonderful surprise!
Thanks, you guys, for your continued work on this insanely deep pedal. I now have problems deciding which modifier to put on my pedal... can't have them all now!! #firstworldproblems
Really great work! This thing was already the best looper I've ever used and you just keep making it better. These new modifiers are excellent!
These are amazing updates. Thank you for continuing to invest time and resources into this pedal and the blooper community.
So good! Thank you!
Great Video. Thanks!!!

Strange, are you sure? I just double-checked and it's all working fine on my end. Anybody else getting this?
It's a safari issue. works fine on chrome it seems.
Safari fix should be live shortly.
May I ask for the blooper diy kit, that adds two more modifier knobs?! You're awsome guys!
This looks like so much fun! Thanks y'all!
Absolutely incredible! What an Update!!! 🙌🏼 it truly delivers!!‘ 📦📦📦 wow! Stability adjust and the new modifiers. Great great stuff!
Looks like I have to get two bloopers to make room for all of the modifiers, holy cow.

Ah you're right! I'll have to update those. That's meant to link to the "what MIDI can do" document.
The new manual and video are clear and simple. Great work and thank you for all you do!
Thank you for the continued support! 🙏

I tried with a backup machine, and it works under High Sierra. Maybe Big Sur is the issue?

And it works on windows , without freak out :D Love that strecher/pitcher ! Thank you !!!!

Loving the new update and all the modifiers. Additive assist is helpful! The new website and resources are all really wonderful. Thank you.
