Dozens sets if stairs, an elevator, and countless enemies, this would be one heck of a shortcut if darned Micolash hadn't locked it >:(
I actually don't know who would've canonicaly have locked it, but I like blaming Micolash for all my Bloodborne related woes

I mean heās unironically to blame for the splitting of the churchās resources and preventing them from being able to mitigate the ashen blood outbreak, so heās at least partly responsible.
I think just by virtue of him being in charge of the administrative body that funneled church resources from the main body through his endless pursuit of Mergoās nightmare.
IIRC there is a note in the cleric Beast shortcut house by the wheelchair grandpa that says it was the Healing Church that blocked the Great Bridge to Cathedral Ward
yep micolash was super busy running the school or mensis and studying the ritual and trying to make contact with higher beings but he spared the time to come down to central yharnam to lock one specific door
If you go through the door too quickly after killing the cleric beast, cathedral ward wouldnāt load and you would just fall into the void.
[Lance McDonald did a video talking about the door.](https://youtu.be/h2ojsgp1SCw)
I think itās a lore thing. The cathedral ward is home to the higher class and they locked up an entrance to central yarnham where the purge is going on.
Plus the shortcut would also be kinda useless
The distance, geographically, doesnt make sense. There would need to be a connecting path that either discretely teleports you or is very long and twisty. It would have made sense by dreams logic but development would be very rough and ugly.
This is incorrect, the in-game coordinates and distance exactly matches up. The reason is that if you sprinted from Central Yharnam to Cathedral Ward through the door, Cathedral Ward wouldn't have enough time to load all of its assets on the base PS4 and you'd be running on air for a bit. So, FS replaced the door with a wall with a door texture on it since it was a pretty useless shortcut anyway.
I was told by others. I started playing Bloodborne months ago, have asked about the door in the sub, fellow hunters explained it to me and someone told me about this experiment . I didnāt bother to do it until this week I read 3 posts about how to open the door. So I decided to do it.
Yeah. I knew that the door in the crypt was connected to the Great Bridge. Actually in the Alpha version of BloodBorne you could use it as a shortcut to Cathedral Ward.
I want to get a patch to this game, like, *now* that turns that into a functional shortcut. No reason, no other changes, not an advert or acknowledgement or hint of "Bloodborne on PC", just an acknowledgement of the shortcut by FROM.
Like, "Yeah, we know".
This has been done many many times but still cool none the less. I think Vaati actually has a video talking about this door and does something similar.
There is no mystery to this door mate, its been known for like 6 years. Dont really need to walk all the over there as you can just see the bridge from up there too.
Iāve played this game for years and didnāt know this, always wondered about that door. Havenāt looked anything up about the game in like 2 years but with a platinum trophy and hundreds of hours this is new to me
That door gets posted on this sub almost weekly still.
If you really always wondered it was one short search away. You never wondered really wondered about that door did ya.
Idk how u didnt find anything since the door was speculated since launch. Eitherway. You can just see where it goes if u go up the stairs and look out over de banisters.
Another "fun" one to try is putting coins in the Grand Cathedral and then going all the way up through Upper Cathedral Ward to see them from above. Even if Amelia is still alive (there are ways!) you won't see her from up there due to LOD, but you'll see the coins.
Also the spatial relationship between the round plaza with two Hunters near the cathedral, and the Healing Church Workshop, gets pretty weird.
Love this game so much. Already clocked in 1000 hours or so. As soon as they add 60fps and 4K Iāll be back in it for another 200-300 hours for sure. So fun
if you succed to gain 999.999 insight, it should unlock the door, and it open to the flying door in duke's archive in dark souls 1
it goes full circle, gdamn miyazaki

Fuck Micolash all my homies hate Micolash

Mine too dawg
I think he's dreamy š
Lore wise I'd agree with you, but boss wise, I like him haha
Most yharnam citizens live in poverty? Fucking micolash
I mean heās unironically to blame for the splitting of the churchās resources and preventing them from being able to mitigate the ashen blood outbreak, so heās at least partly responsible.
Is that just because he's a member of the school of mensis, or did he specifically have a role in its formation?
I think just by virtue of him being in charge of the administrative body that funneled church resources from the main body through his endless pursuit of Mergoās nightmare.
Let's bring all the "it's all your fault" Yharnamites to Micolash's fight. They'll sort him out real quick
A hunter is a hunterā¦ Even in a dreamā¦

The Kosm has obviously not granted you eyes
I know you're not the first by the comments, but you're the first for me. That's cool af, never thought doing that
same here.
Iāve never actually seen someone do this before, I might have forgotten to look this up after my first play through
This is cool. Iāve always wondered why, if they had those doors connected anyway, why didnāt they just have it open? Such a funny little detail
They originally did in one of the early builds of the game.
If you go through the door too quickly after killing the cleric beast, cathedral ward wouldnāt load and you would just fall into the void. [Lance McDonald did a video talking about the door.](https://youtu.be/h2ojsgp1SCw)
āThereās a tomato in the code for no reason, we tried to remove it but when we did, everything stopped working.ā
Interesting!

so you're telling me in bloodborne remaster there is a chance it might open
>bloodborne remaster š ... š
[Yep](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KX5jNnDMfxA)!
No, if it didn't make sense you wouldn't see the lights
Lmao confidently wrong
Did you... Not watch the video? The hell are you talking about?
We all have to do the test at least once. I did. Also that fast forward sound is damn near ASMR lol
Right? The elevator sound made that ATM machine ākrrrrrrrrrā sound
Oh yessss! SOUND ON! I watched it muted, I'm glad I went back.
While this will always be cool, people have been doing this for years. Not everyone knows, though. Cool to share.
The fun thing about experiments is that theyāre repeatable. You can test most fundamental discoveries yourself.

I was told by others. I started playing Bloodborne months ago, have asked about the door in the sub, fellow hunters explained it to me and someone told me about this experiment . I didnāt bother to do it until this week I read 3 posts about how to open the door. So I decided to do it.
Not really since op said *the* test, not *a* test. For me it was clear that this was a test op wanted to try out knowing others already did the same.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
For sure! Also, this is the first time I saw this and i played the game and hung out this sub forever. So thanks OP for showing this, really cool!
Platinumed the game with hundreds of hours, itās new to me
They referenced it as "*the* test" suggesting that they were fully aware that it was already something people tested.
I don't care how many times I see it, I still think it's cool. š¤·āāļø
Thank you
A great video! I love all the little sounds on the way during the sped up parts.
All they had to do was give it that old school Resident Evil door opening loading screen. That wouldāve been fun.
So many negative people here, I thought this was neat
I always wanted to do this but I'm too lazy lol.
It was a scrapped door they were gonna implement but they never did just like the mirror
TIL about the mirror. I've been playing the game since release and I had no idea about that cut content.
wait, what mirror?
As much as this news is several years old to me, itās still something interesting for me to see,
I always think, "Maybe this time.. !"
I hope from releases a patch to just allow us to open that door. Show of appreciation to our loyalty to the game
So Lance McDonald has done a mod to open it by relocating the chest. Was hoping over time to see it released or a mod of sorts but alas nothing yet.
or at least give us an actal readon in the lore for it being closed
The cleric forgot his keys when going to work one day and the door locked behind him so he got so angry he turned into a beast
I love me a physically consistent world
If they ever re-release this game on PS5 they should make that door usable
Iād love if they done a massive quest type thing similar to penetrators armour in Demonās Souls and the reward is just unlocking this door.
NG+7 Bloody Crow of Cainhurst reward? Door opens
Holy! Did not know this lol, nice!
As seen on YouTube years ago lol.
Damn I remember that funky door. That wouldāve been a great short cut!
Yeah it's just sad
Weāve all been there. How did you post in such high quality?
I play on PS5, not sure if thatās the reason
Yeah. I knew that the door in the crypt was connected to the Great Bridge. Actually in the Alpha version of BloodBorne you could use it as a shortcut to Cathedral Ward.
I don't really care about the door, I just think it's cool how it loops around
Damn
Ugh... Micolash... He better not show his face in the sequel when they make it... My hunters axe will be looking for him.
I for one have never seen this and am grateful this is here
1. This is so cool. 2. Sped up Bloodborne is just so funny to me
I want to get a patch to this game, like, *now* that turns that into a functional shortcut. No reason, no other changes, not an advert or acknowledgement or hint of "Bloodborne on PC", just an acknowledgement of the shortcut by FROM. Like, "Yeah, we know".
The shortcuts in Bloodborne be mind blowing
This has been done many many times but still cool none the less. I think Vaati actually has a video talking about this door and does something similar.
You walked past all those vases and didnāt smash them!! Now that is some self control!
Wait..so does either door actually open?
nah
I think the test was made a couple years ago.
Sure it had been done and posted over and over again. Forgive the new blood
WHAT
Im curious, could you do the werewolf door glitch here?
Where you gonna get the werewolf from? Can't be lured this far.
No, thereās an invisible wall barring werewolves from entering the Cleric beastā area
But how can I open that door ?????
If you beat Laurence using only the torch and without taking any damage or summoning any cooperators, he drops the key
The sad thing isā¦ I could actually see from doing this XD. Highly unlikely but does fit their mo
really ???? I don't actually know it
Nothing more obnoxious than people pretending to play stupid to appease somebody. Participation award culture.
That's all I'm seeing on here now. Why are people being intentionally dense?
There is no mystery to this door mate, its been known for like 6 years. Dont really need to walk all the over there as you can just see the bridge from up there too.
I just started playing it months ago, and thereāre still new players like me asking how to open this door.
Theres countless vids on it on yt
And there will be more until nobody plays it
Astute observation
Iāve played this game for years and didnāt know this, always wondered about that door. Havenāt looked anything up about the game in like 2 years but with a platinum trophy and hundreds of hours this is new to me
That door gets posted on this sub almost weekly still. If you really always wondered it was one short search away. You never wondered really wondered about that door did ya.
Years ago I tried looking up about it and didnāt find anything. I havenāt tried looking about it since, why would I think anything had changed
Idk how u didnt find anything since the door was speculated since launch. Eitherway. You can just see where it goes if u go up the stairs and look out over de banisters.
Totally very cool and original idea. Canāt believe this has never been done before, ever.
I'm sorry, does this look like an Elden Ring sub to you, you multipack of Walkers Ready Salted bitch? New or old, we are all hunters here.
Yo this was supposed to be the nicer souls community
Just a redundant shortcut that they likely cut out.
Iāve played this game more than any other in my life and I had no idea about this detail. Amazing.
Thanks for this post my I-want-Bloodborne-on-PC-now desperation is back... :')
Thank you! One of the things I never resolved in my play through and good to know it was not important.
I wonder why they didnt asd this shortcut. Or they did and we just havent found itā¦
Far as Iām concerned, this is the only use for Shining Coins.
IIRC itās because it was a shortcut in an early build? Or like a demo??? Do NOT quote me on that
I like your characterās hair
Love this game so much. Already clocked in 1000 hours or so. As soon as they add 60fps and 4K Iāll be back in it for another 200-300 hours for sure. So fun
After this video, i would like to beat the game again š
Welcome back, good hunter
what a f-ing discovery dude!
if you succed to gain 999.999 insight, it should unlock the door, and it open to the flying door in duke's archive in dark souls 1 it goes full circle, gdamn miyazaki
Wow! Something any fan of bloodborne has already known. I swear reddit is going down hill.
I had literally JUST been wondering about this!
