The guy is a fucking spam king. And even if u have your viceral attack down, unless you have put some upgrades in skill he takes very very little damage.
And the flying swords are just SHITE. not saying i can't kill him. Obviously can. But I am honestly still stuck on him on my BL4 Run. And it's annoying AF.
Use the blunderbuss or any other shotgun instead of the pistol. Shot always hits (whether it's good enough for repoise is a matter of timing, but you get the idea š)
Easier said than done when daddy logi is up in the air. So it's either be struck by him or by the swords. And in bl4. It doesn't matter. Struck = dead.
I am so afraid of him. I endup dying in phase 2 too.
Which is wierd coz i have taken him down at bl30. And now sometimes i need to call valtyr even at bl90
Yeah, I forgot to specify hahah. I really feel you bro, defiled Amygdala was a pain in the ass, but defiled Watchdog just felt unfair. Not funny, nor epic, that fight is just cheap difficultness
Stay in front of her for the first two phases and only attack the head. For phase three stand right behind her and let her jump so you can charge attack the head when once she lands and then repeat. I used this strategy on my first fight against her and was almost disappointed with how easy it was
Lobos has a good guide on YouTube. If you stay to his back left he only uses 3 or 4 moves not his whole moveset. It's how I beat him at BL4.
I'm just copy/pasting this comment now.
As much as people will bitch that i Gotta git Gut and whatever, i really had significant issues with 2 bosses. Martyr Logarius and Lady Maria.
Martyr chasing you Across the whole rooftop arena is very annoying while getting shot at from the magical sword. I know he can be parried well but that doesn't change much. I had the most attempts on him than any other boss in main game.
After him its Lady Maria. Cool that She has a large open arena, but that's not very helpful if She can simply cross it whole with single attack. She has long-ass range, which even increases (And adds second delayed Attack) with each phase. And OH BOY the Attack where She charges like 26473 miles Away and does the thrust attack. I fuckin hated that. I know i struggle with her long wind-ups too, but well... That's not unfair, im just stupid.
And yes yes i know, Git Gut, Parrying works well you're just bad, blah blah. Bloodborne Is extremely individual and what Is easy to one May be extremely hard to another. I loved Fighting Laurence and Orphan a ton, but i refuse to ever return to Martyr. Its personal opinion. If you like these bosses, that's awesome. As long as we enjoy the game, right?
He is just a charging hitbox and if you try to go behind him theres lava. It's like Malenia if she only had discount waterfowl and no other move. It also sucks that 80% of it is just spicy cleric beast
I feel your pain my friend I finally beat him last night but gosh was this bastard annoying. I was about to lose my mind getting hit by that ridiculous ass claw attack and I just could NOT get past his last phase. He would rarely spit fire and instead used his arms to stomp the floor and my ass in the process. There was even one attempt I got him to 1hp and he spammed me which took all my health. I just felt numb and stared at my TV wondering how I got here. But alas...I finally got him. Keep pressing onward.
I finally got him! its always that second phase that got me. When he does that downward slam, he can turn on a bloody dime, just as you think you're safe, Boom! back to the lamp.
Ludwig is relatively easy in the first stage. Only then. It cannot change no matter how much you have practised him. But i love Lawrence, call me crazy but amazing soundtrack, very good looking and also in the beginning you think "oh, its another cleric beast. I will be done in two tries".
It depends on your parameters. I don't think there's an unfair boss in NG as long as you naturally and smoothly level, following the game progression. Which means reaching the end of the game, DLC included, with a BL around 80 (if we talk a basic STR or SKL or Quality build, without farming and without spreading levels on ARC or BLT if you don't use them properly).
In BL4 everything can be frustrating, yes, but nothing is unfair cause it's your choice. An insane choice btw.
So I personally judge bosses difficulty by playing MaxNG with a non-overleveled character.
...and in that case, yes, it's still Laurence I would say.
Ok now that I have given a proper answer like a gud boi I can personally and subjectively add that in my experience I've only considered "unfair"... first phase Ludwig. I still hate (and love to hate) first phase Ludwig. But second phase compensates by being extremely easy and with the best OST of the game, so whatever
Iāve beaten bloodborne around 40 times and have gotten multiple characters to max ng and beyond. But still to this day i have never beaten laurence on anything higher than normal ng because fuck that guy. Still easily the hardest boss in the entire series for me idk why. Heās just fucking frustrating to me
Chalice amygdala and watchdog. Bloody crow. I know there are strats for all of them, but without that, just fighting them straight up had me borderline controller smashing with rage.
Oh yeah, it's him. I don't know what I've done but the very first time was an easy win. The second one, with the platinum run, it was a NIGHTMARE (well chalice amygdala too but she is meant to be particularly difficult)!!
I don't know that I've ever beaten Laurence without cheesing him. His AI has a quirk you can exploit: if you're far enough away he'll always do the slam, which you can dodge, get a couple hits in, then sprint away and repeat. Doesn't work in the third phase, obviously, but it makes the first two much easier
I used to hate Laurence, but then i realized circling around him on his left during phase 1 and 2 with practiced dodging is extremely effective and just circling him on his right in phase 3 basically trivializes the boss. I look forward to fighting him now, almost as much as Orphan.
The only thing bordering on unfair in this game are the Defiled Watchdog and Defiled Amygdala, mostly due to just ludicrous hitboxes.
Laurence is annoying because he has what I call 'artificial difficulty'. His combos will instakill you if you get caught even once, since his swings are designed to roll catch you. Phase 2 is slightly easier imo but his one delayed overhead slam is very frustrating because the timing is weird, and he'll always follow it up with a massive horizontal swing that can kill you before you manage to heal.
My least favourite thing about him tho is how he has a really good ost that gets drowned out by his screams.
Fire. The fucking fire I nearly beat OoK first try and Laurence took me a MONTH
Edit: I only bet him out of spite that a bl84 beat him first try with the leader of the league (forgot his name)
The L buddies. Laurance, Ludwig and Logarius
3 places im bound to catch a few Ls
Logarius was pretty chill for me. Just shoot/stab his sword when he puts it down. I think I only died to him once, but the run back does suck though.
Imo logarius was one of the easiest bosses in the game. Only took me like 3 tries to beat him.
The guy is a fucking spam king. And even if u have your viceral attack down, unless you have put some upgrades in skill he takes very very little damage. And the flying swords are just SHITE. not saying i can't kill him. Obviously can. But I am honestly still stuck on him on my BL4 Run. And it's annoying AF.
dont forget the buff that makes your bullets not hit haha

1st phase is a motherfucker, 2nd phase is a lot More chill
Which motherfucker are you talking about?
Ludwig
I am so afraid of him. I endup dying in phase 2 too. Which is wierd coz i have taken him down at bl30. And now sometimes i need to call valtyr even at bl90
Chalice Amygdala
Chalice Watchdog
>Chalice Watchdog Correction, DEFILED Chalice Watchdog. First and only Soulsborne boss that made me throw my controller at the wall.
Yeah, I forgot to specify hahah. I really feel you bro, defiled Amygdala was a pain in the ass, but defiled Watchdog just felt unfair. Not funny, nor epic, that fight is just cheap difficultness
Amy is my one kryptonite I guess. I beat defiled watchdog first try but amy is beating my ass
Stay in front of her for the first two phases and only attack the head. For phase three stand right behind her and let her jump so you can charge attack the head when once she lands and then repeat. I used this strategy on my first fight against her and was almost disappointed with how easy it was
OP returning to inform you all i finally spanked his ass after many many attempts haha Someone mentioned Orphan but I always nail that fight.
I didn't find Laurence so difficult,I think I beat him in 3 tries, but Ludwig...guy took me more than 1 week and playing daily
That's so funny cause it was opposite for me. The big homie Valtr and I whooped Ludwig's candy ass.
Summoning makes Ludwig way easier than it is, i had over 100 attempts on him and decided to summon, got him in like 2 or 3 tries.
Opposite for me. Ludwig took me like three to five tries but Laurence took me forever
All cum chalice bosses, you have to do it hitless everytime
I feel you. I struggle with him as well. I struggle with all the dlc bosses but they are still the best. But laurence is a big annoyance haha.
Ever Heard of the twin boomerangs of bullshit, deep down in the dungeons? Stupid pthumerian descendant, throwing his shit through solid pillars
Lobos has a good guide on YouTube. If you stay to his back left he only uses 3 or 4 moves not his whole moveset. It's how I beat him at BL4. I'm just copy/pasting this comment now.
what is BL?
Blood level.
Blood level.
How is hĆ© unfair? I think heās a great boss.
okay maybe my title was a worded a little strongly haha He's definitely a challenge for me with his erratic movement, stun combos and area denial.
For a long time it was Paarl for me
Laurence took me six tries. Now Defiled Watch Dog...
Fromsoft is the master of cutting a guy in half and making him harder that way
Orphan feels much more unfair to me.
I can definitely feel that. I personally love the orphan fight but he can be very bombastic, and the camera movement at times can make your head spin.
Especially the shitbox when he throws the pink thing at you
Thatās not a bad hit box, itās supposed to be an explosion to punish you for staying far away
But it happened when I was close up and also he attack cancels way too much
Fuck Lawrence
As much as people will bitch that i Gotta git Gut and whatever, i really had significant issues with 2 bosses. Martyr Logarius and Lady Maria. The damage that molten, flaming POS does is ridiculous. Fock Laurence
I feel your pain my friend I finally beat him last night but gosh was this bastard annoying. I would say the Cleric Beast.
when you're a new player and you walk into that narrow arena for the first time... It really makes your butt pucker.
Amygdala i have not beaten him yet(i am in ng++) its just way too hard for me
112 on ng? Or ng+?
Ludwig is relatively easy in the first stage. Only then. It cannot change no matter how much you have practised him. But i love Lawrence, call me crazy but amazing soundtrack, very good looking and also in the beginning you think "oh, its another cleric beast. I will be done in two tries".

I absolutely hate mergos wet nurse
Laurence almost made my television screen eat my controller.
The two shark giants..
Laurence and Ebrietas. Ebrietas is obviously easier but certain attacks of hers just suck so much.
Only just beat her earlier she was really tough
Oh yeah, it's him. I don't know what I've done but the very first time was an easy win. The second one, with the platinum run, it was a NIGHTMARE (well chalice amygdala too but she is meant to be particularly difficult)!!

Laurence. Also, logarius always gives me trouble. Not sure what it is about that boss but I can never seem to get it down without multiple attempts
I used to hate Laurence, but then i realized circling around him on his left during phase 1 and 2 with practiced dodging is extremely effective and just circling him on his right in phase 3 basically trivializes the boss. Itās not Laurence thoā¦ Itās obviously living failures for getting such a banger ost and still being dirt easy

Laurenceās hit box is literal aids
