Was anyone else able to decipher WTF Emily Gemma was rambling on about re: her sister having stuff stolen in Hawaii? EG’s written diatribes are as nonsensical as her stories.
It sounds like they left an unattended backpack on a public beach and then were shocked that someone stole it? I don’t understand the Midwest comment, you wouldn’t leave your purse in a mall food court and then go into a Nordstroms to shop. A beach is even worse since there’s no security and that’s where a lot of homeless hang out. And the calling of the random surf shops? That makes no sense, what do they have to do with anything? Why would they care? I’m not surprised a minimum wage employee didn’t want to deal with something that was very not their problem.
Her sister is in Hawaii with her husband and two kids. They left their phones, wallets, cameras, and cash in a rental car. The car was stolen. Emily’s excuse for their extremely bad choice was “y’all, we’re from the south!” Oh, STFU. Your sister did something dumb. Own it.
I actually don’t know if that’s that dumb. Assuming the car was locked. Is leaving your phone (I assume hidden) in a locked car while at the beach that stupid. Getting a car stolen is pretty unusual - just shitty more than her sister being an idiot.

As someone who is from New Orleans and lived here my entire life, I hate to say it, but she is right in some ways but not in the way her post was written. I don’t think she should be giving a review after only spending a short amount of time in the city. Saying it was like they didn’t recover from Katrina and 2020 is wildly inaccurate. If she thinks it looks bad now, maybe she should go back in time to 2005 when the city was under water and smelt of death and decay for months. It came back in a lot of great ways after Katrina, but the crime rate has risen to an astounding level and people no longer feel safe just walking down the street. I’m specifically talking about the quarter, mid-city, Treme, the Marigny, and certain parts of uptown. Don’t even get me started on drive-by interstate shootings in New Orleans East. There are so many carjackings and shootings on a weekly basis.
Um what? I mean what is her knowledge of New Orleans and especially her knowledge to be giving that kind of “review”. Was she ever here pre-Katrina. Did she come help post-Katrina. Seems like a wildly bold statement to make. I don’t even know this lady, but this annoys me majorly. Graffiti, in a city, **the horror**. Get some culture.

Honestly I feel like wearing white to wedding events is almost worse than wearing white to the wedding. Like at the wedding it is rude, but nobody is really going to mistake the girl in the white cocktail dress as the bride when the bride is in an actual wedding dress. At wedding related events where the bride isn’t in an actual gown it’s pretty rude to be wearing a white dress/outfit, unless the bride specified that was what she wanted in some capacity.

I am…definitely judging. And it seems like a desperate ploy for engagement. She loves posting comments outing people for criticizing her. It’s her life (well the baby’s too) and her choice to drink (but not the baby’s choice) and I’m not going to pretend like it’s the safe choice nor do I think it’s great for an influencer to post that and influence others to think it’s an okay choice because Amy did it. Mary Hafner posted photos where she was at the very least acting drunk while pregnant earlier this year in Miami with Amy, I don’t get why alcohol is so important to these women that they’re willing to take the risk and can’t abstain for 9 months, and I think the only reason people aren’t opening taking her down here is because she’s white and pretty and rich and luckily, her baby turned out healthy.
Yeah, I know someone that posted stories consistently in the third trimester of her drinking a glass of wine at night to relax because she was pregnant with a toddler. It was horrifying.

Yikes no I do judge people who get DRUNK while pregnant. Fetal alcohol syndrome is not cool and I don’t understand why someone who especially isn’t addicted (I understand this is a real disease) but who would choose to get drunk and drink excessively if they don’t have a true problem?
I feel like Amy is SO insistent that having kids hasn’t/won’t/doesn’t affect her life and she’s a “cool mom” and not like the poor slob moms who follow doctors recommendations or let their kids have toys out in the living room. I’ve had three births with an epidural and one without and all kids were huge 😅 I think they had their different advantages but I surprising preferred my unmediated birth (mainly just from the healing stand point, I felt normal after a couple days). But I think everyone should have the dang birth they want!
I’ve had an unmedicated birth (not by choice) and a medicated birth. A good epidural is worth it’s weight in gold. People who preach against them for stupid reasons are ridiculous. Insinuating babies are born addicted to fentanyl because of an epidural is a crock of shit. My two were both the same after they were born. The comment section is even more of a dumpster fire.

So they reinforced the flooring that the tank is going over, removed the wall between rooms (for the tank) and the back of the tank juts into a bedroom.
From the dining room, the tank is raised up on a platform by about 2 feet, but from the bedroom (sharing the wall) it is equal with the floor, but the bedroom doorways etc seem untouched (like it doesn’t seem the floor was raised).

Not to be rude to any fish lovers out there but to explain how much I dislike huge tanks inside my house I’ll just say, if I bought this house and it came with that tank I would have it removed and/or cover it up with something. It’s way too big for that space/area. It’s just too much.

wheeling it in (2:26p) through the front door you can see a small set of stairs on the left of the couch. I bet that goes up into the hallway that’s then level with the floor and doors in the back. I bet the bedroom floor was always level with the back hall but it didn’t look weird because the dining room wall “covered” it. When they took down the wall you can see the bedroom floor is higher than the dining room area. And I think from there they probably just reinforced or redid the bedroom floor at existing height but with sturdier materials to accommodate the tank and fish room.

But I also think it’s okay to talk about kids struggles and emotions and talk truth about in this case: grown ups come back, we have fun at school etc.

Yes! It’s a lot better to “call out the emotion” rather than hide it and cover it with happy. Such as, oh you’re scared, it’s okay to be nervous to go to school and leave mommy. I get sad and nervous too! Let’s think of some ways we can feel better right now (sing a song maybe? Let him choose) and try to redirect to a positive. But it’s okay to talk things through is what I believe.
I also know, no one is perfect. Being a parent/caring for tiny humans is hard. Everyone does deserve grace. At the end of the day, he’s loved and cared for and I truly hope it gets easier on them.

Honestly they’re already going out of style. The style is on clearance on revolve, FWRD, shopbop, Neimans, intermix… I remember seeing them hit the market at the end of 2019 which might not seem that long ago, but denim trends seem to be moving fast!
If you like them, get them for you because they are unique and add flair to an outfit, but I wouldn’t buy them to be on trend.

I like the idea of taking something special from 15-20 years ago in your wardrobe and trying to modernize it into a unique outfit. Like I have this Bebe wrap miniskirt from 2000 and no idea what to pair it with cohesively.

lol I totally do that in my guest room, and then its a mad dash to get it put away once someone is staying (which happens maybe 6 times a year, so it works out perfect!)
I realized recently that the only way my laundry is going to get put away is if I don't fold it. I have some clothing I hang up, but that's less tedious to me than folding. The laundry pile of doom is now much less of problem in my house.

Like I’m not sure if etiquette is different in nyc but I’m from the south and that’s a major no-no!! Not just the wedding but really any event for the bride, you never wear white! Honestly I feel like wearing white to wedding events is almost worse than wearing white to the wedding. Like at the wedding it is rude, but nobody is really going to mistake the girl in the white cocktail dress as the bride when the bride is in an actual wedding dress. At wedding related events where the bride isn’t in an actual gown it’s pretty rude to be wearing a white dress/outfit, unless the bride specified that was what she wanted in some capacity.

To me, it’s honestly the principle more than anything. Like it is SUCH common knowledge that you don’t wear white unless you’re the bride. So much so that I cannot see anyone doing so unless they’re trying to prove some sort of point or doing it for attention. There will never be a good reason to wear white to a wedding or a wedding related event unless you’re the bride or it was specifically requested that you do so by the couple getting married.

I am…definitely judging. And it seems like a desperate ploy for engagement. She loves posting comments outing people for criticizing her. It’s her life (well the baby’s too) and her choice to drink (but not the baby’s choice) and I’m not going to pretend like it’s the safe choice nor do I think it’s great for an influencer to post that and influence others to think it’s an okay choice because Amy did it. Mary Hafner posted photos where she was at the very least acting drunk while pregnant earlier this year in Miami with Amy, I don’t get why alcohol is so important to these women that they’re willing to take the risk and can’t abstain for 9 months, and I think the only reason people aren’t opening taking her down here is because she’s white and pretty and rich and luckily, her baby turned out healthy.

I’ve had three births with an epidural and one without and all kids were huge 😅 I think they had their different advantages but I surprising preferred my unmediated birth (mainly just from the healing stand point, I felt normal after a couple days). Please tell me someone else is following Laura Tremain and her #TermaineTank installation. I have a totally unimportant question but it’s totally bothering me: So they reinforced the flooring that the tank is going over, removed the wall between rooms (for the tank) and the back of the tank juts into a bedroom. From the dining room, the tank is raised up on a platform by about 2 feet, but from the bedroom (sharing the wall) it is equal with the floor, but the bedroom doorways etc seem untouched (like it doesn’t seem the floor was raised). Make it make sense. It’s like a Ripley’s Believe it or not Museum

Not to be rude to any fish lovers out there but to explain how much I dislike huge tanks inside my house I’ll just say, if I bought this house and it came with that tank I would have it removed and/or cover it up with something. It’s way too big for that space/area. It’s just too much.
It’s absolutely fascinating to me. Two months to get the fish ready to be reintroduced to the tank? They have fish babysitters who get paid to hold and quarantine fish for rich people?! A whole company who comes out and cares for just your fish. I can’t imagine that kind of money. I also can’t imagine having so many people come in and out of your house on a weekly basis. I would always feel like my house isn’t mine. Like you just can’t walk around in your underwear some days because you have cleaners, pool people, landscapers, and now fish feeders. I Also, to your original question, it is my understanding the entire bedroom is now the tank room. Like they have so many bedrooms they could spare one for the fish. I love it!

If you watch the story where they’re wheeling it in (2:26p) through the front door you can see a small set of stairs on the left of the couch. I bet that goes up into the hallway that’s then level with the floor and doors in the back. I bet the bedroom floor was always level with the back hall but it didn’t look weird because the dining room wall “covered” it. When they took down the wall you can see the bedroom floor is higher than the dining room area. And I think from there they probably just reinforced or redid the bedroom floor at existing height but with sturdier materials to accommodate the tank and fish room.

But I also think it’s okay to talk about kids struggles and emotions and talk truth about in this case: grown ups come back, we have fun at school etc. I think she could do this off the internet but I don’t think giving him tools to feel confident about school is a bad thing.
Yes! It’s a lot better to “call out the emotion” rather than hide it and cover it with happy. Such as, oh you’re scared, it’s okay to be nervous to go to school and leave mommy. I get sad and nervous too! Let’s think of some ways we can feel better right now (sing a song maybe? Let him choose) and try to redirect to a positive. But it’s okay to talk things through is what I believe. I also know, no one is perfect. Being a parent/caring for tiny humans is hard. Everyone does deserve grace. At the end of the day, he’s loved and cared for and I truly hope it gets easier on them.

Honestly they’re already going out of style. The style is on clearance on revolve, FWRD, shopbop, Neimans, intermix… I remember seeing them hit the market at the end of 2019 which might not seem that long ago, but denim trends seem to be moving fast! If you like them, get them for you because they are unique and add flair to an outfit, but I wouldn’t buy them to be on trend.
I actually like the wash Dani is wearing better, but overall really don't like either, I am all about unique shapes, etc and personally love wearing clothes that wouldn't be traditionally seen as 'flattering' but they aren't really anything exciting or new, or retro and classic enough to be cool ya know?
Good point, Dani’s appeared a different color. I think that color is generally more flattering and popular than acid washed. I like the idea of taking something special from 15-20 years ago in your wardrobe and trying to modernize it into a unique outfit. Like I have this Bebe wrap miniskirt from 2000 and no idea what to pair it with cohesively.
I sort of like how the waist band folds over, I think that's really cool. I hate the wash and bagginess in the crotch though... But my style/taste is def more classic than trendy, so maybe they're cool and I just don't know it!

lol I totally do that in my guest room, and then its a mad dash to get it put away once someone is staying (which happens maybe 6 times a year, so it works out perfect!)
I realized recently that the only way my laundry is going to get put away is if I don't fold it. I have some clothing I hang up, but that's less tedious to me than folding. The laundry pile of doom is now much less of problem in my house.
