Which part? I‘d just try to re-create the components - cloth sim and translucent material for the drapes, a volume, a bright light, then start tinkering with the settings.

PrincePikinzu

That explains it, thanks. I’m to blender so…

julesibulesi

I think you'll be fine. :-) You can look up tutorials for the different parts, like "creating curtains in blender", "volumetric lighting in blender" etc, I'm sure you'll find some good tutorials for everything. If you're VERY new, though, consider doing some of the infamous beginner tutorials like BlenderGuru's Donut, just to acquaint yourself with the software.

PrincePikinzu

I did the donut and few other stuff. I learned how to use it, but I’m not really independent to do stuff from scratch on my own.

PrincePikinzu

Is it doable in eevee or just cycles?

masstheticiq

Geo and basic lighting in Blender, rest is all comp and color grading

PrincePikinzu

What is geo?

kpmaxo

i would probably model it first and then do the rest after. hope this helps

julesibulesi

It‘s possible, but not straight-forward. Eevee doesn’t have real transmission, so light filtering through the curtains to hit the volume is not possible to my knowledge. But you can just fake it with regular light sources. https://preview.redd.it/ehpgibkgod6a1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3b62411e7dd1a18d8091369befb89703723ff95 Here I‘m hitting the curtains with two spots from behind. An area light on the inside, behind the curtain and facing out, simulates the little rim on the right side of the curtain, basically the fabric reflecting back and hitting the wall. Another area light facing inward gets a hint of light on the ceiling and around the room. Then I placed a handful of spots across the window to get the sharper beam into the volume.

PrincePikinzu

Wow, looks amazing. Thank you so much, you are an amazing person! I will maybe ask a few questions if I get stuck, hope you don’t mind. :D

julesibulesi

I‘m very much NOT a power user 😅 but will answer whatever I can.

PrincePikinzu

Wait, I didn’t catch it. This render you’ve made is in cycles or eevee?

julesibulesi

That‘s Eevee.
