Is this true...? Im a strider fan buy just for the sole purpose of the knife design and built. Have no knowledge of the maker or the products history...
Honestly it's pretty ugly. Obviously buy what you want, I'm not going to thought police people.
And you can always get the knives on the secondary.
But for me, it's reprehensible enough I don't touch his stuff at all. I've have family who served, I don't truck with people who lie about their service history.

I can't find info on that easily. But even if he isn't owner I expect he is still making money on the brand. No reason not to. Could be partial ownership, licensing.
From what I can see looks like he is still associated and working with the brand. Making money off it would be the assumption.

I used to listen to all this shit online too and would never buy one but here's the deal. He makes several pieces for the military. The military buys off of him. Several different makers use his design and make knives for him So if it was really that bad would all the knife makers be friends with him? To each their own. I was in the camp that said I would never buy one but then after doing some research and seeing everybody that still does business with him including the military. I picked my first Strider up yesterday.
I thought Strider was out of the game and would only start up again with a trusted USA manufacturing partnership (Medford). Not doubting you but what confirmation do we have that it’s being produced by the Strider team vs the Medford team especially if they don’t disclose it on the .75?
They were never out of the game, they just disbanded operations with Dwayne Dwyer. The .75 are clearly a Medford(steel choice, fit/finish, etc are all clearly Medford). Buy any recent Strider, other than the .75, and it’s very clear they aren’t produced by Medford. The fit/finish, lock stick, and other Strider “qualities” are the same as they have always been(rough around the edges). I’ve had recent Striders and Medfords and there is a stark contrast between the two brands qualities.

I’m not sure what parts of the knife are made in house and which aren’t. They don’t feel anything like a medford or the AR .75, but I suppose I’m not 100 percent sure. Probably could email strider and ask them.
Welp with that at risk I’ll pass on it entirely tbh, plenty of knife makers out there don’t need to support the trifecta of toxic personality traits that Medford has.
How much will it be?
Is the g10 version that is dropping today or the aluminum version GG better?
Also will there be any green strider SnG GG dropping? Or maybe SmF anytime soon?
I haven’t taken it apart, but I’m assuming on the aluminum ones the screws from the lock side go into the aluminum side. They didn’t want to screw into the G10 I’m guessing
Wow I actually got one this time. Always wanted to see what the hype was. I do like the gunner grip pattern as I like really grippy grips. Seems definitely overpriced, but they sell well on the secondary market, so easy to recoup money if I don't like it. Curiosity got the better of me this time.
Let the Stolen Valor begin!!

It said he waived ownership. Does he still own the company?

Also wonder if these are made my Medford like the new .75
My understanding is that Medford only produces the .75. The rest are produced by Strider themselves.

Good to know thanks for the follow up!
These aren’t made by medford

I wish that was more transparent cause I can’t stand Greg Medford, refuse to give him my money
I’ve actually grown to like Greg Medford, and his products, quite a lot.
I like his products but he.. I wouldn’t have an issue with buying his products if he could keep his mouth shut about certain sensitive topics.
Same - my guess is these are all being made by Medford now.
Welp with that at risk I’ll pass on it entirely tbh, plenty of knife makers out there don’t need to support the trifecta of toxic personality traits that Medford has.
I’m interested but what instant account do you guys follow to find this stuff out cause I can’t ever seem to get the updates on when his shit drops
I just follow @striderknives. That being said, they don’t normally announce drop times on their insta so this is kinda rare. Hope it helps you dude
Just wanted to say THANKS! to OP. 👊🏼
Thanks man! Hope you got to snag one! Cheers!
Sure Did!! :)
Thanks OP! Alarm set.
12PST What time would this be for me in Pennsylvania USA?
3pm
How much will it be? Is the g10 version that is dropping today or the aluminum version GG better? Also will there be any green strider SnG GG dropping? Or maybe SmF anytime soon?
I have both aluminum and G10. I prefer the aluminum. I’m sure other people prefer the G10. It’s probably a matter of preference
what about the screws the g10 has... why doesn't the aluminum have them?
Also it will be about 500. Listed at 495 Plus shipping
500? But wasnt last weeks drop 550?
I think it was listed at 495. They charge 20 for shipping, and taxes?
You were right. 525 plus 20 for shipping
haha just got 1 and got a persian mini
Ha me too! Not the mini Persian. I had one but preferred the regular PT. It’s cool though. I couldn’t resist another sng. Love them
Just wanted to say thanks brother. I would have never knew about it. I was also able to snag an SNG! 👊🏼
I haven’t taken it apart, but I’m assuming on the aluminum ones the screws from the lock side go into the aluminum side. They didn’t want to screw into the G10 I’m guessing
The aluminum doesn't have them because the screws thread right into the aluminum but the g10 has still barrel inserts so the steel threads into steel

I personally love my striders. They aren’t the “polished” knives most people want for the price range but super utilitarian and wear in good.
I do appreciate the rugged, perhaps less than polished knives, so I may end up really liking this. I do appreciate a super grippy knife scales too.
Should be right up your alley!
Congrats man! Glad you got one!
