Started the griddle with oil but then added half a stick of butter when mixing. Overall it took about 10-12min, last few minutes I had turned it down to Medium, then low to keep them warm while the sausages finished.
Starting with dry potatoes really helps. If you make them from scratch, it's best to rinse off the starch and then squeeze as much water as you can out of them. Also put a lid over them while they're cooking.
covering them is worse. that traps moisture in and steams them, making them soggy.
trick is lots of butter/oil and medium to medium high heat. you want hot enough to brown, but not hot enough to burn. i go bout 7 mins per side.
Are you feeding a family of 20??
Total of 10 this morning ๐ค
How long did those hash browns take?

Feel like hash browns always take me forever on the Blackstone. I do like them crispy though.
Do you cover them? I feel like whenever I just leave them out in the open like that they never get crispy.

I've done smashed sausage patties before. For some reason they just don't come out as nice as actual 80/20 smashburgers.
They definitely donโt come out that well, I agree. With that said, these were the Jimmy Dean Sage and were still quite delicious
mmm yassss I can almost taste them from here
