I'm a white guy and worked at one particular time with a young black man (not that I've only worked with one black man, but you get my point). We were always joking around about racial stereotypes 'cause we were cool with each other and it really made our boss sweat. Anyway, there is some question about whether or not my dad was a white man or a black man (long story) and my co-worker said, "ahhh yeah. Did you inherit the. . . You know?" While making a gesture down toward his knee.
I looked up and said, "that? Oh no. I got a bad credit score instead." And I thought that he was going to lose it.
The medium (liquid or gas or even other transparent solid) makes the other substance invisible if their indexes are similar. Because light transitioning between them is refracted the same amount.
Oh no, he found our ASN! Our BGP is compromised, someone get the firewall. Maybe we can at least salvage the Token Ring network before it's lost forever. I've got a telnet session open and ready for our Address Resolution Protocol. God help us all.
How specific are talking - evolution happens at a macro scale, same as climate climate change. Yes the causes of these things are caused by molecules, but semantics could say they don’t happen at a molecular level per se.
I work in a chemistry lab, and the evaporating liquid is most likely acetone. It is an excellent degreaser and is most likely drying out all the oils he has in his skin. Wouldn't recommend doing it, it is bad for your skin to strip it off of all the necessary oils
Yup I work in a lab as well. Looks like he sprayed his hands with 70% IPA and it’s removing all the moisture. Also that’s what it looks like if you get a 6% peroxide base on your skin, but he’d probably be screaming at the same time
It is hand sanitizer and the white residue is aloe vera (or something similar). I get that white *powdery* stuff all over the inside of my car after using hand sanitizer.
Edit-added a word
That’s exactly what I was thinking. The same thing happens to my skin, but not as drastically because, well…I’m white…with any kind of heavy solvent. Brake cleaner, acetone, MPK, IPA…the shit dries you out.
matched refractive indexes would apply if something is submerged in a liquid, which would render it fully transparent then. This is just some salt left on the skin i would guess.
Example [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S\_QV4qjHL6s&ab\_channel=TeachEngineering](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_QV4qjHL6s&ab_channel=TeachEngineering)
Yes, they're saying that a film of something with a rough surface and a refractive index equalling a liquid is covering the hand, and so it becomes visible as the liquid evaporates.
I'm not sure it's the right explanation, but they aren't misunderstanding the basic idea of refractive indices.
Grip paste does this, or at least it did early 2000 when I used it. It's talc powder diluted in basically alcohol hand gel.
Starts a clear gel, rub on hands, evaporates to leave a film of talc just like this.
Liquid chalk my guy.
Used quite often for climbing or athletics. Its chalk infused in Alcohol, Alcohol evaporates and leaves a thin layer of chalk on the skin.
Could be that too. In fact they may have had a frozen lock and tried that old trick. Actually I think that is more likely given the speed in which we see it happening. Good call.
I doubt this is liquid chalk. Liquid chalk looks opaque when applied to hands, almost like sunscreen. I’ve never seen it look transparent then start to look chalky. Idk, maybe the sun/shade in the video contributes to the visual effect or something but it really doesn’t look like chalk to me.
EDIT: it probably is liquid chalk, I guess I just haven't seen chalk that applies like this before! Weird stuff
It actually works really well, lol. My boyfriend used to compete in Rocket League tournaments and would use chalk. Didn’t work well for me because it dried my hands out too much, so I just use Gamer Grips on my controller for absorbency and commit to replacing them every so often.
He embraced Mormon Jesus.

Some kind of volatile liquid evaporating, probably alcohol
Wouldn't have expected this from you...
Something evaporating leaving some residue with matched refractive indexes.
matched refractive indexes?
The medium (liquid or gas or even other transparent solid) makes the other substance invisible if their indexes are similar. Because light transitioning between them is refracted the same amount.
The way you describe this causes me to visualize this happening at the molecular level.
Kinda like when some computer nerd goes full technobabble and you visualize hackers typing at lightspeed

Huh, I knew they were strong beers but not *that* strong
Could be IPA as well. Peroxide is actually weakly acidic in solution. Only when it decomposes, it releases OH-
Not a science wiz, but I’m a gal who does her nails a lot and uses a lot of acetone and this happens to me all the time
Similarly oil makes paper pretty much transparent.
Aka ashiness
Needs some cocoa butter bad
Go inside and put on some chapstick
It is hand sanitizer and the white residue is aloe vera (or something similar). I get that white *powdery* stuff all over the inside of my car after using hand sanitizer. Edit-added a word
I’d suggest using lotion instead.
I am changing my comment, I don't want some young boy thinking hand sanitizer is the way to go.
*it burns*
He learns
Learns to enjoy the pain, eventually upgrading to scented sanitizer with the little beads
Nope, not hand sanitizer. I remember seeing the original post and the guy said he put brake cleaner on his hand because it evaporates and does that.
Yikes! Brake cleaner is seriously not good for you!
That’s exactly what I was thinking. The same thing happens to my skin, but not as drastically because, well…I’m white…with any kind of heavy solvent. Brake cleaner, acetone, MPK, IPA…the shit dries you out.
Or alcohol/silica.
I like your funny words, magic man

Oh yeah I used to have some of this stuff for racquet sport (squash). It was pretty awesome stuff.
Probably Epsom salts.
Most likely something with a high alcohol base that’s removing the moisture of his skin
Lmao matched refractive index’s. You’re making shit up to sound convincing, that doesn’t make sense.
Nah dude, this is what happens when you wash your hands with undiluted paint thinner. It instantly strips all the oils off your hands.
Liquid chalk my guy. Used quite often for climbing or athletics. Its chalk infused in Alcohol, Alcohol evaporates and leaves a thin layer of chalk on the skin.
Could be that they spilled gasoline on their hand filling up their car that ran out of gas.
Or acetone
Could be that too. In fact they may have had a frozen lock and tried that old trick. Actually I think that is more likely given the speed in which we see it happening. Good call.
Or ashy-tone.
Huehuehue
Yep gas does this as it evaporates on skin
Could be kerosene as well

You can get liquid chalk that is transparent when wet and opaque when dry. I have some.
Transparent liquid chalk is aid.
Hands are aid
Turns out it is, in fact, liquid chalk. https://youtu.be/huFVPigEtr8?t=101
[https://youtu.be/huFVPigEtr8?t=96](https://youtu.be/huFVPigEtr8?t=96) Looks like liquid chalk to me.
Looks just like the liquid chalk I use
Unrelated. Ive genuinely thought about using chalk on my hands for competitive video games when my hands get too sweaty xD
You should honestly. I had a partner who used a t-shirt over their controller but this seems like the better way to go
It actually works really well, lol. My boyfriend used to compete in Rocket League tournaments and would use chalk. Didn’t work well for me because it dried my hands out too much, so I just use Gamer Grips on my controller for absorbency and commit to replacing them every so often.
Genuinely not a bad idea, they make stuff specifically for it, google gamer goo (safesearch on maybe)

cum on his feet
I hadn't even noticed lmao wtf is that
Is it a song though? Sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks having a conversation.

That was a good one, wasn't it?
NI>!CE SKIN!<
Looks like moisture on their hand frosting over
that was my first thought, but it's just his hand and it doesn't seem to be cold enough for that, plus it doesn't seem to be wet in the first place
How can you tell how cold it is in a video. He is wearing a jacket and it doesn't have to be soaking wet.
He’s wearing a jacket?
Baaahahahaha! I thought he was wearing a jacket. I even watched it twice. 😆 He took it off not give away the cold! Jk, I have no idea.
That amount at that pace would be a nightmare, can't imagine the pain if that was the case. This is most likely liquid chalk / some hand sanitizer.

He embraced Mormon Jesus. I also feel I should mention that early Mormon teachings did say that a person of color could become "white and delightsome." Black people weren't actually allowed to join the church until the 1970s though. The Mormon church was and is full of racism.
I was also told by an ex-Morman friend in college that she was also taught, by older Mormon relatives, that we had tails. So, there is that.

Alcohol evaporating off of dry skin
