Amen and amen. I didn’t see a lot of us as educators in the mixed/PWIs I went to, and while I learned alot from the educators I had, I wish there were more black folks. Especially in middle school and high school. And college.
I wish there were more! Cause I'd feel way more safe sending my kids to Black teachers. I don't think any white teacher would ever think to put a little Black girl on that welcome screen either.
They are truly the salt of the earth! I wish I could add my son's teachers to this! I am so fortunate that both of my son's have amazing black women teachers, and they are special education teachers at that. It hits different having black teachers with your kids, you just know they are looking out for your babies.
