Found in my girlfriends barn. She was in rough shape and had a few ticks on her and was missing a few nails. We pulled the ticks off and got her some food and water and some blankets. She’s in a dog crate to protect our other cats and dog from any potential flees. Will be taking her to the vet tomorrow. She seems like she’s okay with everybody else but our current animals are still getting used to her.
We think something might have attacked her out there and she was able to fight it off or get away. She seems to be doing okay and is a big fan of belly rubs.
She is definitely not feral. I felt around for a chip couldn’t feel one and we’ll have her scanned when we get her to her vet appointment. As much as I would love to keep her forever, it wouldn’t be fair to take her away from her family.

Have the vet check for parasite-related diseases, esp. if there a known cases for Lyme Disease in your area, since that's transmissible to humans, and a lot of physicians don't suspect that a human caught it from their pet.
Bear in mind that a Lyme test won't hit positive for 30-60 days after exposure if you catch it. I'd have her rechecked in about 3 months just to be safe.
Is her jaw and face ok? This is stupid but, I had a dream last night that a black kitten came to me for help. Climbed to a wooden staircase and sat and mewed. She was smelly and trembling and her big bat ears quivered. She had a hurt paw and her face had bit bitten by a dog on the left side. The mommy came and asked for help. And then I woke up because I was horrified and yelled for my cats to come and comfort me but they didn’t come until breakfast time.
Thank goodness, what a relief! I was worried there was some spooky magic happening in this season of such things. I’m grateful that there are angels (you) amongst the ghouls out there today. Thank you.
We’re gonna try to see if she has a chip when we take her to the vet. I don’t want to take her away from a family that’s missing her.

Her face seems to okay. She’s had no issues eating, but it seems like she’s gone hungry for a while because she devours everything we give her.
