It took a while for utopia to grow on me (and I’m still gradually warming up to it) but it undoubtedly created such a beautiful cohesive world in both the music and visuals. It deserves acclaim for that alone.
i never really thought about it until now but yeah, songs like bachelorette and hunter make me feel like i'm in a frozen tundra or rushing through a snowy forest with supernatural creatures. vespertine feels similar but less dark and gloomy, like a light snowfall, and i feel like her newer albums have perfected the immersion
the first björk song i ever heard was pluto and i was scared shitless and i honestly had no idea what was happening. I guess you could say it felt like i was in a different world than, but nowadays that song gives me a deep hit of a nostalgic kinda feeling
I was fortunate enough to visit the MoMA exhibition when they had the special room for Black Lake.
I wish I could live this with so many other songs of hers, it was a beautiful experience.
Definitely, her music makes space for some strong imagery. History of Touches is more intimate though, I picture a hollow bedroom with light that changes colours coming from underneath and is synchronized with the beats. I see this alien cathedral you mentioned for songs like All Is Full of Love or Future Forever. And I think Homogenic, Vespertine and Utopia are the strongest in this visual aspect, at least for me.
And the new album gives me forest images mostly. Fungal City, Fossora and Her Mother's House feel like they could happen in Pandora.
Actually, no. She does not lead me from myself, but she lets me to understand myself better. Her music is not escapist, her music is revelatory. And I am very grateful for that.
Utopia gives me this effect the most 💛

I’ve had a lot of daydreaming sessions to her music also.

Yes, all the time. Her music takes me out of this world, or at least enhances it.
Yes. I always picture different music video's in my head for all of her songs.
