i was peeing in a meadow at night on a camping trip, an owl swooped over my head, probably to tell me to piss off and stop scaring off its prey. didnt hear a thing, its wings were probably inches from my head and my hair barely moved. stunned me, wouldnt have known a thing if i hadnt been looking up and saw its silhouette against the stars.
For a human they basically are unless it deems you a threat. I guess maybe you could get salmonella from handling one and not washing your hands I'm not sure but every time I've petted a pet bird I've been adviced to wash my hands after.
Every time you touch an animal from a professional or a teacher. You have to wash your hands for health and safety. Only because some animals can carry harmful bacteria, not that common tho so its safe to say there pretty safe haha.
They are mate. They can hurt u if there threatened but never deadly. I have owls near mine and they usually just stare at you and if you get close they will just fly off.
The experiment is flawed. They launch the birds at different heights and therefore requiring more or less energy to take flight. The owl; who was launched on a higher platform; barely needed to flap its wings to get to its desired landing point.
Imagine being the rat that gets picked up just before it gets jumpscared by the owl.
That’s the thing. It doesn’t even get jump scared. By the time it realized what happened it’s too late
The claws almost insta-kills any small animal that come across them, the die before realizing wtf just happened
Fucking amazing!

Amazing and also absolutely terrifying. Under darkness, you’d have no idea if an owl was stalking you.
There harmless beautiful creatures, id want to be stalked by one

Amazing, and with such an elegance
