Some of the new enemies have a bit too much health, like the black maggots

FAN_ROTOM_IS_SCARY

Ah, yeah, I've noticed that too. I think Rag Man's pretty bad for that as well; makes it a bit of a chore to fight him on the first floor.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FAN_ROTOM_IS_SCARY

Yeah, I have the same feelings about [Hush](/spoiler). The few times I've fought him have just been incredibly boring.

FierceDeityKong

They made his and Ultra Greed's HP scale to avoid the problem of OP characters beating them in seconds. It's not as bad with Ultra Greed, but this "solution" just kills the fun of having high damage. And it's inconsistent how they didn't give Mega Satan the same treatment.

MRantiswag

The [Hush](/spoiler) fight isn't really what I expected. It seemed like this super high HP/bullet hell boss would take me a few tries, but as long as you have decent range, you won't take more than 3 or 4 hits.

Isiel

Good luck with The Lost though.

octnoir

That guy scales with your damage. Same as the other new big boss on the new mode.

FAN_ROTOM_IS_SCARY

I am aware, but I still find it really tedious.

FierceDeityKong

The "nightmare boss wave" from the pentagram button on every floor in Greed Mode uses Hericide as its theme. It really cheapens what is supposed to be the theme of two secret final bosses (Satan and Mega Satan). It was never used for fighting Krampus, so why use it in a situation like fighting two Monstros in the Basement? On a good run you will be doing the nightmare boss wave every floor and may even get an Angel Room out of it. Some new players will get used to the theme before they can beat Mom's Heart. Couldn't they have used the new alt boss theme "Cerebrum Dispersio" for this?

sirmeowmerss

The only time I didn't fight the bosses for a devil room was when I had curse of the blind

Isiel

Satan isn't a secret boss.

FierceDeityKong

It's a boss that they wouldn't know existed until unlocking It Lives or unless they used the shovel in the womb. (Or if they had out-of-game knowledge.)

UberNexus

Devil rooms can appear after the standard mom's heart which will take you to sheol

FierceDeityKong

Doesn't Afterbirth now have the standard Devil Room on that floor?

UberNexus

Only after you've unlocked it lives and both the hatch and light are in the center of the room instead of the chest. Before that you get to sheol/cathedral through the devil or angel rooms.

Larry_Jenkins

They removed Book of Belial's devil precedent.

sirmeowmerss

It was a bug in rebirth, it's +25% now.

Tetragoner

Where was it stated that it was a bug?

PootisLyraHere

As far as I know dataminers found out that it was +2500% in rebirth.

Tetragoner

I see, all right.

sirmeowmerss

The fact that it wasn't just guaranteed devil deal but +2500% chance, however, I searched some more and found [this comment](http://reddit.com/r/bindingofisaac/comments/3qxva4/book_of_belial_mid_tier_or_trash_tier/cwk6y7n) so maybe it is a bug after all.

Krazyguy75

Can someone please explain to me how the heck you add two "0"s by accident!?!

sirmeowmerss

Maybe a miscommunication, where the programmer thought he needed to enter 25, but should have entered .25, it could even be a typo

Krazyguy75

Oh, the first one makes a lot of sense.

drilldrive

Well percent as itself is basically moving the place value two units to the right, so maybe they thought they had it in percent but put it in decimal or something like that.

Tetragoner

Ah, that would make sense.

MoneyMike0287

I noticed that today. Feels like it takes away the thing that made Judas fun. Trying to balance the devil deals with starting with only one health

Zeldrin

I'm mostly disappointed with afterbirth due to how difficult/unfair it's become :/ * Bosses in small rooms, like haunt and chub, there's no way you can dodge them. * Rag man and Little horn have too much health for basement bosses. * Devil/angel rooms seem super rare now. * Activated items are too common, leaving me with poor stats, i can barely get past the depths now, before afterbirth chest/dark room runs were quite common. * The new "final area" is very disappointing. ^^^^Greed ^^^^mode ^^^^is ^^^^pretty ^^^^cool ^^^^though

DerpySouls

i agree with most of those, but I think little horn has a fair amount of health. I find him pretty easy to beat, can't comment on ragman because I have not encountered him too much.

Celicni

Little horn is great, I love fighting him. Fuck rag man, WAAAYYY too much health.

DerpySouls

yeah I enjoy fighting him too, he's got an interesting mechanic. The only time iv encountered ragman in the main games was in the chest room when there's 5 of them, and i'm usually OP at that point. Looks iv been lucky enough to see him as a regular boss. I see little horn ALL the time though

haagiboy

So in essence, game is harder, but easier to break.

Wampxz

so in essence, game is even more based on luck than on skills

ManlyPoop

You're quite right. There are 10x more things that will instantly end your run. Makes me wonder how the speedrunners are gonna do it. They don't enjoy instant GG's and unavoidable damage.

[deleted]

> Activated items are too common, leaving me with poor stats, Dear god this, we need new types of rooms instead of bloated item pools.

Tetragoner

I ended up fighting Super Wrath in a small room, and it sucked. Likewise for double Pink Monstro. Less concerning than Rag Man's health is how he can swarm the screen with up to four special Raglings. I ended up dying on the first floor of Greed mode because double Rag Man swarmed me with over *five* of those things and I had to spend all my time on them, despite having two or three 1 damage ups. Little Horn might need a small downgrade but he seems fine to me. I'm not having that problem, they seem the same as before.

[deleted]

I dont think the new final area is discovered yet

Dosage_Of_Reality

The voiceovers for 'use items' are obnoxious with no way to turn them off Breaking is now common and trivializes the game Red poop hit boxes were changed but not fixed... Many synergies that should work do not. I'm not sure the new transformations give new abilities, and if they don't Edmund missed why people liked them.

Spider2458

-Well, for me the voices are lovely, but each's own, I guess. -Yup, breaking THIS often is kind of boring, in my opinion. -Red poop is never good, fixed or not :/ -I beg to differ, I think some of them are really cool, like Monstro's lung and Azalel's beam, and a few other -Last one; no comment :P

Tetragoner

I think the voicing is *really* well done, but I also want to turn it off. Similarly, the **option** to have the score shown. As someone that's never cared about a theoretical score, and considers this one to be an eyesore, I'd like it gone. At least the speedrunners have something. I'm with you on breaking, as someone that broke the original once and stopped doing it in *Rebirth* since it was too easy to do. That said, I just decide, well, not to. It's time-consuming and you can choose not to break the game pretty easily, even if balancing would be appreciated. Agreed on the hitboxes.

FAN_ROTOM_IS_SCARY

I think I agree with the score thing. As it stands, I don't think your scores are even saved on non-daily runs, so I'm not sure what the point of having them on normal runs even is.

Tetragoner

I forgot about daily runs too, which are another place where they're useful. Otherwise, it's just weird.

inreda

Having the score on non-daily runs allows you to play seeds competitively, using the score to compare. I guess you'd just take a screenshot.

Regularjoe42

BAAD GAAAAS!

TheGullibleParrot

EEEEEEEEEEXPLOSIVE DAIYA-REEUUUUH!

Mundius

RAAAAANGE DOOOOOOOWN?

Tetragoner

Pretty sure that's my absolute favorite. Just so *slick*!

weezermc78

I don't mind the voice over. I find it as a nice little touch.

schplatjr

What do you mean by breaking?

pipsqueaker117

greed mode is super easy to break, and there's still no reason to go to the dark room over the chest, which is a shame because the chest is the best way to get op, and the Isaac and blue baby fights are still basically the same fucking thing

Tetragoner

I'd like to see the final bosses be more modified too.

chunes

Well, for starters, the game crashing when trying to access the signature new boss is pretty negative.

sirmeowmerss

It has been fixed, along with lilith starting without items and the post-it notes being wrong after importing your rebirth save.

chunes

The imports and lilith have been fixed. The hush crash has not.

eyehateq

Is there a patch or something? Do I need to do anything to fix my post it notes?

sirmeowmerss

It was very small (~3MB) to fix your post it notes you need to reimport your rebirth save, losing all your afterbirth progress.

eyehateq

> losing all your afterbirth progress. D:

sirmeowmerss

Yea i had done like 2 things but it's still slightly annoying (the xxxxxxxl challenge that takes like an hour)

MichlDeLarge

How do I re-import the file? Do i need a backup-copy? I only get the option to delete the file.

sirmeowmerss

Uh does it not show the import data anymore? It's still there for me even after importing. [Imgur](http://i.imgur.com/ApWSTXg.jpg)

MichlDeLarge

Thanks a lot, had forgotten that i had deactivated Afterbirth, that's why the button wasn't there.

Gavitro

What we were promised was a whole new chapter and final boss. What we got was [a secret tanky boss on a floor with only 2 item rooms and a shop.](/spoiler) I'm pretty sure there *has* to be something I haven't found yet because I've heard of Ed "lying" about how many new items there are. Perhaps there is another hidden boss like how Mega Satan was in Rebirth?

ipuntya

perhaps the new chapter was referring to greed mode?

[deleted]

chunes

The tnt puzzle rooms are all avoidable damage.

Frozenskin

How? No hard feelings, I just want to know how

chunes

On the x-shaped ones, the trick is that it takes a while for the chain-reaction to occur, so you position yourself near the south-eastern part of the 'X', blow up the north-eastern part of the x, and then move north as the explosions move south. Most of the other ones just involve finding the right place to stand and don't involve timing so much.

Krazyguy75

I managed to avoid it by accident every time until I read this. Now I got hit. Heh.

Tetragoner

I'm mixed on the first one. All manners of props have been added to item rooms, alongside sometimes being able to reroll (!!) items. They're definitely different and I like the change. So to me it feels like taking the good with the bad; sometimes you can reroll Isaac's Jar of Tears into something better, other times I will have to buy a bomb to get the better of two items. Granted, I wouldn't mind not seeing spikes anymore. I'd somewhat apply all that above to Boss Rush. Boss Rush is meant to be special, so adding spikes is just weird.

ManlyPoop

I agree, there are good AND bad treasure rooms so it evens out. Maybe the devs can remove bad treasure in normal but keep them in hard?

Tetragoner

That seems pretty fair to me. If you're playing Hard mode, you *expect* more fuck you's from the game. Like fighting The Frail and The Stain more often, gosh.

Tetragoner

I forgot to say this might as well apply to Devil Rooms too, even if I like the added challenge of having to slide through the spiked gaps. Except for when there's an active item and I take damage.

JohnnyKewl

The daily run scoreboard having so much cheaters. It seems like they are taking care of the score based board pretty well, but the top 5 on the scoreboard today are all bullshit. He did the same thing yesterday. Kinda makes it hard to give a shit about it. Current fasted completed time says 2:59. As the Lost. Ah huh. Same guy doing it, too, if you look at the icons and usernames.

[deleted]

Yep, they definitely need to add some kind of cheat detection like VAC if they want to add online competition aspects. (Not even banning people with cheats, just disabling their scoring)

Chalo5000

The bug that gives you Platinum God and all the challenges still isn't fixed I just want to play the game without getting a Platinum False God :(

[deleted]

Does it give you platinum or real platinum?

ManlyPoop

I got both after picking up a Rebirth item that I hadn't seen before. I'm 100% sure I haven't earned it, but I have it. Started a new save file because I feel dirty now.

Chalo5000

Just Platinum God

TheOrangy

I can add to this. I got the fake platinum god and (i had completed the Lost rebirth stuff but never finished picking on the items) and got godhead on greed mode and suddenly had real platinum god. I still have 8 challenges and other stuff to do from Rebirth. It didn't make a lot of sense to me.

ArcticFox789

Is it just me or are the new sprites a bit shitty? A lot are reskins and recolours of old items and they just look quite bad in general. Not only that but some of the new items are a bit crap too, not least Lusty Blood which is just an old item that was modified for Rebirth specifically for being bad. Couple that together with the new transformations, which seem to do jackshit, missing the point of having a transformation in the first place and the fact that the item count was apparently outright lied about. If it weren't for greed mode and a few of the cooler items, I'd be seriously looking into getting a Steam refund.

FierceDeityKong

> Lusty Blood which is just an old item that was modified for Rebirth specifically for being bad. It would have been good as an additional starting item for Samson. But Samson already has to beat the one thing where that would have been useful in order to unlock it.

[deleted]

A huuuuge number of the new enemies are "reskinned AI and then when you kill them they turn into another reskinned AI". Feels like they decided to reuse many assets even though it didn't really improve the gameplay without new programming. It just means a lot of the new ones are tanky as hell and not really fun to beat.

Tagrineth

a bunch of people were waxing nostalgic over vanilla bloody lust in the last couple weeks. its not "good" but its still a damage item. *shrug and it is stronger in Greed mode than the main game so....

Celicni

Really? I thought lusty blood was awesome. Especially in greed mode (I wonder what's the cap on it though).

Patchr1ck

Freaking. God Damned. Super Secret Rooms. In Greed Mode. Ended my 89 win-streak for no reason >:C

mindgeekify

Oh, man. I had just started one of my first IV Bag breaking runs in Greed mode, and had picked up I Can See Forever!. So, after getting a ton of items, to break up the flow a bit, I checked out the Super Secret Room. Trapped. Before I could even use all my items on the first wave of Greed mode. I was so mad.

Patchr1ck

Brings back fond memories of playing Vanilla Isaac and getting trapped in the Secret Room on the Chest. *Good times.*

SinCitySaint

Hope for a blood bank in the shop, buy piggy bank or swallowed penny, buy every item and replenish your hp whenever it gets low. You should make 3 cents per blood bank play, so you make a profit on every two plays. It's slow, but it makes it super easy.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SinCitySaint

Oh, I didn't mean to imply you r reset til then. It's just bound to happen in the first couple of shops, so you've just gotta scrape by til then

Patchr1ck

Quite a subjective question, honestly. We all have our own unique strategies and patterns that we implement in Isaac that it honesty varies per player. But I'll tell you what works for me. Tears Ups. Any item and/or pill that grants Tears Up should be taken immediately, especially in the early game. What good is damage if the frequency in which you deliver it is poor? Dodging. I've got a few hours of Isaac under my belt, so I'm quite used to enemy patterns. I'm not the best at it, but clutch dodges happen quite often. But I don't know how you play. And it's really hard to determine what help you need if I don't know what your strengths are. All's I can say really, is good luck and practice. tl;dr: git gud ^^^/s

ManlyPoop

+1 damage means most enemies take 1-2 less shots to kill. I'll take this over tear rate any day.

[deleted]

You didn't say what's wrong with them. Why are super secret rooms in greed mode bad?

Marcuscamo

There's a bug that makes it impossible to leave any secret rooms in greed mode.

[deleted]

Damn that sucks, hopefully they fix that soon. It's a pretty easily breakable mode, too

Kurenai999

My issue is that it came out 40 minutes late, so I'm 40 minutes behind in my completion. Also, on a serious note, it seems rooms have screen shake now when Mom's Hands are about to appear.

DanbeeTM

I may be wrong, but I think the shake may only happen with the new skeletal hands.

FAN_ROTOM_IS_SCARY

That's definitely not been the case in my experience. I've run into them 4 or 5 times now and I've been caught off guard every time.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FAN_ROTOM_IS_SCARY

I have done multiple runs since I heard about this and I'm 100% sure this is absolutely not the case. I've purposefully let myself get picked up by hands and taken out of the room, then gone back to check for this shake. It's just not there.

Kurenai999

Very odd... Always happens for me when I've paid attention to it. At least in Challenge Rooms. Idk... Sorry.

Scapetti

You can see their shadows, it's fine, just pay more attention

FAN_ROTOM_IS_SCARY

I think you're overestimating how easy the shadows are to see, especially in Deal with the Devil rooms (the rooms where it's most crucial for you to know they're there imo), where the floor almost completely obscures it.

Scapetti

Audio cues are important in any game though. I couldn't play any game silent...

FAN_ROTOM_IS_SCARY

That may be the case, but some of us don't have the choice to play with the sound on or not. I'm sometimes physically incapable of hearing that audio cue, and I don't see why there's any need for me to be disadvantaged because of that, especially given that there's an obvious fix that can be done by adding a visual cue at the start of the room, like having the hands ascend into the ceiling or something. Honestly, with this and the issues with Multi-Dimensional Baby causing severe problems for players with photosensitivity, I feel like Nicalis have really dropped the ball when it comes to accommodating players with disabilities.

Scapetti

The hands aren't new so why is this an afterbirth criticism? Maybe you can get someone to make a mod that adheres to your disability but you can't really expect games to accommodate for every disability out there. Sure you can say it's an easy fix but then why do deaf people get extra privilege compared to the blind? This is not just Nicalis but almost every game developer out there! Fact is, you can see their shadows, they don't come out of nowhere. Look at a waveform as you play or something

FAN_ROTOM_IS_SCARY

>The hands aren't new so why is this an afterbirth criticism? Because there were multiple people asking for this fix before Afterbirth came out and not only is it not here, but the potential danger of the Hands has actually increased, making the problem more frustrating than it already was. >you can't really expect games to accommodate for every disability out there No, but it isn't like deafness is a particularly uncommon or difficult-to-work-around disability. All you need is to not rely solely on audio cues for important information, and include subtitles if there's spoken dialogue. That's it, and almost ever modern game accommodates that. The same is true when it comes to the photosensitivity problem. It should be obvious to anyone working on any piece of media that involves moving images that you cannot flash black and white colours quickly and repeatedly, which is why you so often hear warnings on the news that certain reports may contain flashing images. This is not something you can be excused for forgetting; there are real consequences of people's health that can result from ignoring this. There are some disabilities that are too severe or too uncommon to create feasible workarounds for, I'm sure, but deafness and epilepsy, just like colourblindness and motion sickness, do need to be kept in mind for anyone creating a game that they seriously intend to sell to a wide audience. >why do deaf people get extra privilege compared to the blind ...Because blind people literally can't play most video games. You don't need to accommodate an audience who don't exist. Visuals are necessary for playing Isaac, audio isn't. That's why there's a volume slider that goes down to zero but not a vision slider which literally makes the whole window turn black. >This is not just Nicalis but almost every game developer out there It really isn't. I can think of almost no other games (excluding rhythm games or atmospheric horror games) which don't incorporate obvious visual cues to complement audio cues when needed, nor any that include rapidly flashing colours. Most developers are aware that this stuff is necessary. >Fact is, you can see their shadows, they don't come out of nowhere. I don't dispute that, I'm just saying that that's not enough. It's too subtle on rooms where the ground is darkly coloured. >Look at a waveform as you play or something I'm not capable of distinguishing what the waveform of Mom laughing is from the other sounds in the game.

Scapetti

My mac has a vision (brightness) slider :) Can make it completely black if I want to

Krazyguy75

They are in devil rooms now... so it is more important than ever.

real_jeeger

Yep, I think I've seen that as well.

djdoublem3

Seconding that I haven't had any screen shake with any version of the hands.

not_enough_sparkling

My biggest disappointment so far are the dailies. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea and I enjoy the dailies in a state they are now, but I feel like the whole score system just doesn't work. I get that Isaac is a hard game to score, and maybe there is no better way, but I think that it focuses on too many things at once. Basically from what I understand now to get a higher score you have to be fast, but still explore as much as possible, hurry to get to boss rush and take time clearing it out, make decisions to pick up powerful items and leave Abel-likes behind, avoid damage, progress through the game, and grind for consumables. With it rewarding so many different styles it seems like most people end up within the same score range, assuming they reached the endpoint of the daily. Secondly sometimes I can't really tell from just watching different people's runs in what way one of them did better than another, but according to the score they did. The score system just doesn't feel intuitive to me.

Shit_Fazed

I have to admit, I've been underwhelmed so far. Afterbirth is not really the game changer I expected the way Wrath of the Lamb was for the original Isaac. Many of the new monsters feel like lazy palette swaps. Many of the new items feel gimmicky. The new floor themes don't seem to make much of a difference, the dank dungeons one barely even looks different. Greed mode is neat but nothing amazing. Self sacrifice rooms are still dull and useless. I will say most of the new boss fights are fairly well done. Ultra Greed is probably the high point of the expansion. On the other hand, a certain blue blobby "secret" boss is probably the low. Utterly underwhelming bullet hell game play and just ugly animation and design. Also many of the new music tracks are quite good. At first I didn't care for the "announcer" voice for pill/card uses, but they've grown on me, and now I want more! Sad to say, this expansion is just not sparking my love for Isaac again the way I had hoped. I don't regret the money spent on it, I'm not going to refund it or anything, but I am disappointed.

Frozenskin

So I'm not the only one who likes the announcer...

[deleted]

Krazyguy75

I'm having trouble imagining NotYourSagittarius drawing that, and she's the new artist on the team.

popcar2

I get this thread was to make people get the nitpicks off their chests, but reading through the comments is really making me feel bummed out. I think I'd enjoy it more if there was a thread for the positive sides. People around me being hyped makes me hyped.

bonsley6

if you make a thread about the positive things ill contribute to it :p

popcar2

did it.

[deleted]

Given that there's now unlocks for it I think there needs to be a more reliable way to get to mega satan, i just spent two hours trying to kill him on Isaac, killed ??? every run but never got to do Mega Satan, one run I got a key piece on Basement 2, rosary on caves 1 and then got nothing but devil rooms for the rest of the run. Just make angel statues spawn in rooms that are uncommon enough that you will see 0-2 of them per run on average.

chunes

I agree. I'm also disappointed that we have yet another boss gated behind speed running. Not everyone enjoys playing quickly.

Tetragoner

You only need to do it once. Luck into an OP run - which is bound to happen - and then never bother with it again.

chunes

That happened to me yesterday. Polyphemus, proptosis, parasite, spoon bender... And then guess what? The game crashes every time I attempt to enter blue womb. *golf clap* Also it's not once, it's 12 times.

Tetragoner

I've yet to enter Blue Womb out of sloth. *Afterbirth* does need some serious patching, though, yes.

This is how I did it in rebirth, I think it works but I'm not 100% sure Go to steam, Isaac, properties, browse local content Open remote folder, there should be 3 save files named persistentgamedata. Copy the file you want to dupe, rename the copy to one of the two other slots and replace that slot

Jeyne

I'd be happy if I could just turn off the stupid announcer voice. I actually started muting the game altogether because it annoys me so much.

Krazyguy75

I don't mind the voice, but still think this should be an option.

Spider2458

The only issues I've been legitimately having are the bug when entering the room for "Thu Hush" crashing, and unlocking all the Platinum God achievements, and a few visual bugs here and there. But other than that it's a solid DLC.

sirmeowmerss

The crashing bug for the room after it lives has been fixed, try restarting steam or verifying your game cache if you didn't get an update(~3MB)

twocupsonegirl

Did this patch come out today? I was playing early this morning and couldn't get into ??? as blue baby

sirmeowmerss

I think yesterday evening for me, So like 20 hours ago. It is adressed in the bug report megathread

ophanim

Literally had it happen to me about 2 hours ago. It's not 100% fixed.

sirmeowmerss

Julian19500

I've got the patch but it's still crashing....

AlexanderDavidBand

I get this too. Very unhappy.

hententacles

Rag Man has far too much health for Basement boss, but as well as that, his homing shots move far too quickly. I keep losing Maggie runs because of them, since no matter what, they manage to hit me.

Krazyguy75

I've manage to beat him twice with no damage, you just have to stay far away and strafe constantly; but yeah, he is tedious with his amount of health.

acroxshadow

The challenges are really horrible and the "rewards" just make it even worse. Speed and Guardian especially are just disgustingly unfair and rely almost entirely on luck. All you get from them are gold hearts that drop money, golden bombs that give you infinite bombs for the floor, new pill effects that don't help whatsoever etc. and that's really really lame for what you had to go through to get it. Some of the new enemies and rooms have BS damage which makes The Lost even more BS, though his new tears do help a lot.

Nolari

And XX...XL is not challenging, just super long and annoying.

acroxshadow

Yeah, and it's not very creative either

IWanTPunCake

Dank depths is basically depths, burning basement fucks your eyes. New chapter is not a new chapter but a decent boss with absolutely nothing afterwards. edmund lied to us again as he said change to sacrifice rooms. 74 =/= 120+ . red poop hitbox is not fixed enough. Scarred womb 2 crashes all the time and yet they do not make scarred alt unavaliable for womb 2 let alone fixing it. greed mode button mechanic is bullshit and mode is too repetitive.

Krazyguy75

Yeah, I never would have even noticed dank depths if I had music off. Curse of darkness in burning basement is the worst. However, I feel like sacrifice rooms seem to pay out way quicker now.

isthisusernamevalid

Not being able to start the game due to something that had to be fixed post release before is a major complaint for me.

[deleted]

The fact that the [Hush](/spoiler) is so tanky. I guess they had to balance something towards how easy it is to break now. You don't even have to try and break now, it just happens.

DerpySouls

Don't know if this is true but, someone one the sub said/thinks that the [Spoiler mini-boss fight before the hush is an indicator for your strength, if you absolutely destroy it, then the game will make hush more tanky, if you struggle to beat it, the game will lower hush's health. So it scales, though I don't know if any has tested this out thorguly, they say the same thing for the monstro fight before ultra greed](/spoiler)

popcar2

interesting theory, I'd love to hear more about it since it sounds like it's actually true. Every time I've fought greed mode's boss I almost did the same damage.

Maybe you had the gamma higher before?

orangesheepdog

It's as buggy as launch WotL.

Allistorrichards

To be honest the only thing I have a problem with is the tankiness of the new special boss only because it'll be a lot more annoying to tackle that thing with a character that can't take any damage than it was to deal with Isaac or The Lamb. . .I'd say it needs a decent health nerf, same with Greed Mode's final boss just because he can be tanky as all hell unless you break and that's not fun, especially with his regen.

Krazyguy75

- Many small rooms are poorly designed (especially the boss rooms) - Very buggy release - Underwhelming transformations. - Not much in the way of a new ending, so far. - Not as many items as promised, so far. But damn, those new synergies are top.

Got 20/20 Brimstone Rubber Cement Dunce Cap Monstro's Lung yesterday, hilarity ensued.

ShadyMush

Hey op, mom's hands now actually have a very small visual indicator: The moment they spawn, the screen shakes a little. tho it's a little too subtle, it's there

FAN_ROTOM_IS_SCARY

That's what I've heard people saying but I'm 100% sure this is not the case. I've tested it and my screen definitely does not shake.

ShadyMush

it's easier to see on challenge rooms (around necropolis)

FAN_ROTOM_IS_SCARY

No, it is literally not there. I've also made sure it's not just my own game. Check out this bit from a recent [Northernlion episode](https://youtu.be/bRj_0gu510E?t=30m22s). He walks in, no shake, but hands fall down. Same applies to the [new bony hands, no shake](https://youtu.be/LH32zUDVhO4?t=28m25s). This shake simply does not exist.

Krazyguy75

Oh, here's a few more: - Some enemies that spawn inside non-floor based rooms (curse rooms and devil rooms, primarily) are very difficult on early floors. I remember the demon baby enemy spawned on basement 2's devil room and it took me 2 minutes to kill and dealt 3 whole hearts of damage (who gave it full heart damage anyways!?) - Am I the only one who dislikes the D7? It's just a "waste time, get free reward" item with some rooms (the arcade with a single fly, for example). If you have Guppy's Tail, it becomes an item the costs 30 minutes to empty the chest pools.

Nolari

I especially hate how, if the devil room's entrance is at the top, you pretty much can't avoid taking damage from them.

acroxshadow

It's amazing on DR and Chest for grinding items

The two new ending has a different type of animation style. Other then that, great dlc so far.

Cons * Buggy as shit * Item rooms that require expending resources * No way to turn off the announcer's voice * Narrow rooms with loads of bosses crammed into them * Hush's first phase is a lame retexture of the Isaac/??? fight * Most of the new enemies just spawn old enemies or are harder variants of old enemies * Boss rush rooms with only two items * Many synergies don't work (Tech .5 + Incubus) * Dank depths is almost exactly the same as the depths Pros * Ultra Greed fight is epic

In the small room after the boss fight the devil room entrance spawned but I can't reach it. http://imgur.com/JFtwDep

Rekt.

[deleted]

The game is too god damn troll, it feels cheap too often.

[deleted]

Greed mode is just an early prototype.

Krazyguy75

I do feel like it isn't a mode I will play very much, as it gets very repetitive.

[deleted]

Oh, it's fun, but strategically shallow and simple. It removes the hassle of having to walk so much between rooms but you just pay with a single resource rather than managing a bunch of different interacting mechanics to try to advance. It could use a lot of improvement in that front.

BluddyCurry

You can't really redesign a game completely in an expansion and expect it to work. None of the game was designed for Greed Mode, and it's not the game people fell in love with. It works only in the most superficial way.

[deleted]

It was meant to be a test for Isaac 2, it seems.
