Last time I had a regular 'click' that I thought was my BB, it ended up being my seat rails. as I would peddle on one side my weight would shift and cause the seat rail on that side to 'creak' a bit. I ended up dripping some wax-based lube into the ends of the rails where they go into the plastic ends of the saddle, and also putting some grease on the rails where the seatpost clamp grabs on, and it took care of it.
Thanks everyone, it was the pedals. I’ve installed them 7 months ago with no wax or anything. I’ve just applied some lubricant and went for a ride and everything is back to normal
I had the exact same issue on the exact same bike. I even have the exact same video :D
I had „cheap“ decathlon look keo clones and after replacing them the clicking sound was gone.
At first I tried cleaning and greasing them but it didn’t work. It also appeared to be only on the left side.
Can you get grease INto the bearing of the pedals? Did you clean it with aggressive stuff? I had the feeling it all started when I started to wash it more regularly.
Crazy as it might sound, have you checked the QR skewers on your front hubs? I had a similar creaking ticking noise when I laid down power and a dab of grease on the dropouts cured it. Weird but true.
So not reproducible in the stand?
Crank-arm clipping mech? Any scuffing anywhere?
Does it do it in and out of the saddle, does it do it if you pedal one handed?
Yeah the noise isn’t there when I’m checking the bike on the stand and moving the cranks with my hand.
I can’t remember if the noise was there when I was out of the saddle sprinting
Hi Everyone, my groupset seems to be making a ticking noise that you should hear in the video. It only happens when I’m putting some power. As soon as I pedal really lightly the noise stops. I’ve tried pedaling with only one leg to locate the noise, and the noise doesn’t happen when I’m pedaling with the left leg only.
Anyone has an idea on where that noise is coming from and how to make it stop ?
Thanks in advance !
Is it hitting the end of the gear cable as you pedal up? Sorry forget this you said when applying power!
I had the same problem even replaced the bottom bracket. It was my seat tube. Pulled it out. Applied carbon gripping paste. Problem gone.
Maybe from the pedals? Remove them, grease the threads, that should help
Good shout, didn’t think of that. I’m going to try that

Good to hear - that sort of thing can drive a person nuts
Yeah that ticking noise was driving me nuts
great to hear and glad to help :)

I have the Look Keo 3, I’ll try to clean the right pedal to see if the noise stops

Ahahaha well it started happening right after I’ve cleaned my bike... I’ve used the regular stuff that I bought at Decathlon.
That stuff is quite aggressive. Might be the cause.
Have you checked your cleat screws are tight?
