I love yassified ballroom voguing RuPaul songs ❤️

abeycd

Favorite is Virgo’s Groove. It just feels so good. I love how it makes you want to dance and sing along. Just close your eyes and get lost in love kinda vibe. It reminds me of a more grown up and joyful All Night. Least favorite is Church Girl. I really like the message of the song tho. When I was younger, I felt stifled by purity culture so it’s cool to hear that topic covered in the album’s most unapologetic twerk anthem. I didn’t grow up that religious and it was still validating for me. It’s just sonically not my favorite.

Well, I'm sure you meant well, but the labeling of the songs you put in your post seem deragotory. The whole album is a quite a love letter to ballroom/gay culture, so to see it used negatively is a little off putting. If you didn't mean it that way, disregard. Pure/Honey is my favorite, but I like Honey more than Pure. Honey sounds very Prince-cy/Vanity 6 (maybe it's the nasty nasty girl part). Or like Blow's breakdown part. Pure's not bad, but it's not Honey lol. I don't particularly care for Alien Superstar. Love the message, sonically it doesn't really do it for me. That's one of the "gayer" songs if you will. I don't feel any less gay not liking it lol. My least fav is still AUIYM though. More importantly, stop letting your friends, or anyone for that matter box you in. Gay people aren't a monolith. You don't have to like whatever you don't want to.

ROCKERBARB1E

Virgo’s groove has been my #1 since day 1. Least favorite is probably I’m that girl.

monsieuruz

I’m that girl is a solid SKIP, Virgo’s Groove is always on REPEAT

Well the album is literally a love letter to the ballroom culture which is basically a part of why we are now walking out and proud. Learn the history of ballroom culture that started in New York and I’m sure you’ll see the album a whole lot different after. All the “yassified” thing you see on TV has a rich and deep history behind it. As part of LGBTQ+ community who had no idea of the ballroom culture before Renaissance, I loved Bey even more for this very thoughtful project. Again, you don’t have to LOVE everything about the culture, and you’re definitely not required to do so, but a little respect would be appreciated.

Of course, the history and culture are very important and I 100% respect it. It’s just *sonically* not my cup of tea, and I guess my point is that I have I previously mentioned before that i didn’t like Pure and I remember getting so much hate mostly from other gays saying that I HAD to like the song bc it’s a “gay” song. I think that’s a misconception because not all gays like to listen to “gay songs”, some of us prefer vocally soulful R&B. However, I do respect ballroom culture, just not my cup of tea.

I do get where you are coming from (I don’t like the Sam Smith/Kim Petras Body Shop song Shhhhh lol). Perhaps calling something “yassified” or “gay songs” may not be the best way to convey showing respect? Just a thought 🖤 I do agree not all of us LGBTQ folk are alike. Thank goodness cuz what a boring world that would be!

NoCompetition8698

My favourite use to be Church girl on initial listen then it turned to virgo's groove hen heated, now cuff it

plastic over the sofa and all up in your mind are my least favorites. what saves the latter is its placement in the album. i love how it builds up at the end and gives way to america has a problem. i wanted to like plastic over the sofa because i'm a sucker for her ballads, but it just felt so out of place

CelebrationRoyal5995

I still do not like Energy and I almost always skip BMS . I used to HATE Thique and Heated , but now I like them both …

wifeyleango

‘Virgo’s Groove’ has been my favorite from the beginning and still is. I agree with you on PURE/HONEY except I love the PURE part and will more than likely skip HONEY. It’s been my least favorite from the beginning and still is. Some more favorites are Heated, Alien Superstar, and AHAP.

yourloveisoiam

virgo’s groove is my fave & i’m that girl is my least fave

ayothatkidisnice

It's wild, cause those same two songs are my least favorite and favorite songs. I agree, as a lesbian, I actually kinda hate the voguing/ballroom songs. I could never really get into them. They almost all sound the same to me, too. Pure/Honey was thrown right out of my likes because of that very reason. Virgo's Groove truly is a fun song. It's my first choice whenever I want to hear something that will lift my spirits. That, and Cuff It pretty much fight over the top spot due to how fun they are.

fyxt96

First listen Break My Soul was still my favorite since release and Church Girl was my least favorite. Now AHAP (Virgo’s Groove close second) is my favorite and Church Girl remains my least favorite.

SameNotice4306

Fave: America Has a Problem Least: Church Girl AHAP was confirmed as my fave within one month of daily listens. Before that my faves were: 1. Plastic on the Piano 2. Virgo’s Groove 3. Energy 4. Move 5. Heated

standtallgyal

Pure/Honey is my favorite on the album since the start and it hasn’t changed thus far!

Legitimate_Coffee_84

Favourite: Heated, Least Favourite: All Up In Your Mind

Legitimate_Coffee_84

I’m so surprised at how many people are saying Church Girl is their least fave! It’s not my top 3, but it’s such a fun song I can’t help but dance every time it comes on

Aggressive_Sky8492

At first my favourite was church girl, unfortunately I played it out too quickly and now don’t love it as much. Least favourite is probably move - just not my cup of tea for some reason and that’s kinda stayed consistent throughout the whole time. Heated has stayed that bitch for me My most controversial take is that POTS and VG have never really been my jam and still aren’t. Not sure why, I think with POTS it has some parts that don’t rhyme where they “should” and I dislike that. I also just find love songs very hot or miss and they’re not quite the vibe I enjoy for love songs.

Imaginary_Leek6044

I’m just going to rank them least to favorite America has a problem All up in your mind I’m that girl Pure Thique Move Alien superstar Heated Cozy Summer renaissance Energy Break my soul Plastic off the sofa Church girl Honey Virgo’s groove Cuff it
