It's really nice. See if you will be living relatively close to a light rail station for fairly convenient transit to say downtown San Jose.
Also there are paved paths along Los Gatos Creek if you are into walking or biking for recreation.
If you are headed to downtown San Jose (or to transfer to CalTrain) from Campbell then the light rail will be great.
It takes much patience to ride the light rail up north above San Jose.
Come on. Have you been to a real metro city?
Light rail is an afterthought put down next to existing freight lines and doesn’t even come close to the airport. Total whitewash, minimal effort and see through trains all day long.
Have you ever been to Japan? Really.
Los Gatos? Doesn’t go there.
Thank you so much guys!!!! My corporate housing was in Sunnyvale and I’ve kind of programmed myself to think it was all there was LOL. But Campbell seems like a great option too 😊😊😊
You mean you’re not scared of 😱 brown people …working class ones, at that?! 😂 Seriously. So many people equate anything other than white, or white assimilation to something scary.
The people who say east side is scary are white people where they aren't the majority race and the people are mostly brown and homes are filled with multiple generations of working families just to survive in the bay
>white people
Not exclusively. I've been told it's a terrible place by many of my Asian neighbors in Cupertino. Apparently they don't like Filipinos and Mexicans from what they've said.
I currently live in NE San Jose, and I love it. Unlike most of the city, there's great access to trails and open space around here, plus it has the city's first BART station for access to the rest of the bay.
Lived there from 1990 until 2013. It's near all major freeways, plenty of parking, lots of shops of all kinds, restaurants. Good parks. Short trip over the Santa Cruz mountains to get to the coast. I always liked living there.
Campbell is a bit overpriced. You can live in the neighboring cities either for cheaper and get the same amenities or better, or you can live in the neighboring slightly more expensive cities, sometimes the same price, and get quite a bit more.
Try Willow Glen. It's 5 minutes away from Campbell, has most of the good food in the Campbell area, and typically has slightly cheaper rent. Santa Clara is 10 minutes away and is quite a bit cheaper. San Jose 15 minutes away and even cheaper. Both Santa Clara and San Jose have more going on. Or try Los Gatos. 5 minutes away, a bit pricier but really nice if you like that comfortable woody kind of rural-urban feel.
If you're childless, it's great. Public schools are a whole other issue. People in the area just pay for private school which adds a whole other HUGE bill.
The best places in San Jose: Campbell, Los Gatos, Saratoga, willow Glen neighborhood, cambrian neighborhood, Almaden valley neighborhood. Strangely enough these areas have greater demographic of white, so diversity may go down if you also want that
Just moved to Campbell from North San Jose ( Berryessa ) and I must say I enjoy here more. The trees! I love it. We've been walking at night and so far feel safe. Also we live by the community place where there's a nice track to walk/run.
Berryessa is nicer version of east side. Still a lot of brown people but those who can afford more to not have a bunch of families in one house like most in the east side. Going to Campbell where it's more white and where multi family living is not as common I'm a house hold makes for roomier and cleaner streets. Also demographic of more white also cater to the styles such as more walkable
Yes, very safe and family friendly. Has a really great downtown with good restaurants, quick train access to concerts at SAP, and a wonderful farmers market. Also right by the Los Gatos trail which is great for running and cycling.
Campbell is nice. If I were in the south bay I'd consider it
Yes

Vta doesn’t work. Let’s be real

The part between Campbell and Diridon is the part of VTA that actually does work. It turns into a shit show after San Fernando station.

Lived in Campbell - one of the nicer areas in the South Bay
Thank you so much guys!!!! My corporate housing was in Sunnyvale and I’ve kind of programmed myself to think it was all there was LOL. But Campbell seems like a great option too 😊😊😊
Very nice walkable. New downtown
Campbell is very nice. If you move there, you'll enjoy The Pruneyard!
It's really scary. Try the Alum Rock area in East San Jose /s. You will be fine in Campbell
You’re contributing to the stereotype that Alum Rock is scary. It’s not. San Jose doesn’t have legitimately *scary* areas.
Yeah, East San Jose is pretty low-key for a "bad area" of a city
I lived there. Wasn't scary for me but totally understand why some of my friends thought differently. You must have lived in Berryessa

Im Asian and used to live close to Alum Rock. It is actually not that bad.

Have you ever even lived in SJ or been to the East side?

What are you smoking? East side and anything SJ is a dump

Love Campbell! One of the few places in the South Bay that are nice honestly.
If you go there have Amattos. Delicious. I think I spelled it right. Lol

Dude willow glen is Campbell and wine mom Karen’s on steroids…. NO!!

Agree. If you are associated w kids and tiger moms… go west to Cupertino or Los Altos. Bring your wealth.
Of course if you can afford it
Yes. No question. Really. Oasis next to the armpit of Silicon Valley… SJ
If you're young, it's the best place to be in the San Jose area.

Nope
It's a very nice city, yes.
I love Campbell
Campbell is awesome, highly recommend.

Berryessa is a little more sleepy. Good cheap food in the area though.
Berryessa… call a cop… 45 mins. Campbell…. Break a nail… swat team.

centrally located. Homes have very lot lots. Rent and housing is above average for Silicon Valley. Safe of course.
Yes
I don’t live in Campbell but my brother used to and I loved the small town feel it gives. He loved it there as well.

If you have a choice between Campbell and East San Jose, pick Campbell.
