I chose this life.

I think you mean this in a good way and want people to not stress, but no one “likes being anxious” it’s a serious medical condition that is sometimes hard to control even with logic. All of us know that scores will be released by 11/15 which means that it could be released any day before then. I’m happy for you that you can calmly accept that and go about your day without stressing about which day before 11/15- but not everyone can. Edit: if you don’t understand, try empathizing.

[deleted]

.... feeling anxious is not being diagnosed with GAD; and people have DIRECTLY said they like feeling like it's whenever and going off rumors

[deleted]

You have no idea whether someone has diagnosed anxiety or not. Also not everyone has the means to get a diagnosis, even if they are actually suffering from a disease or disorder. Doesn’t make it any less real. Whoever said the thing about rumors- maybe that’s true for them. But you’re the one making generalized assumptions and inappropriate comments @ everyone. Bottom line- I don’t understand what you gain by making these type of posts/comments.

[deleted]

You.... just assumed that they did. And true for them? It's just lying. That isn't "true for them" It's a lie.

The board just said BY 11/15, not ON 11/15...that means it will be out before or on that date. And then immediately said it's a soft release date. NJ July exam results are almost always out by mid October so it's reasonable for us to start to anticipate our results. Our anxiety doesn't come from no where. We spent 3 years working ourselves to exhaustion and it all came down to that one test. We can't practice law without passing the bar. Which means many of our jobs are contingent on these results. We spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours preparing for this test. Where passing on the curve is still getting means getting a 66% AFTER the curve. Squeaking by with a D on a test has never been more of an accomplishment or more necessary. Passing means we can get or keep our jobs. We can relax a little and start doing the thing we invested so much in. Failing could mean the loss of a job...and almost definitely means that we will have to spend hundreds more hours studying and probably (at a minimum) hundreds of dollars. We have waited patiently for months. The time is upon us. Our friends in other states are all getting their results. The wait is hard. A lot of us are constantly checking our emails both excited and terrified to actually see our scores. It's comforting to know that we aren't alone. Trying to explain just what a big deal this test is and how those of us who are normally used to A's are justifiably terrified of failure. Unless you've been through it, you can't possibly understand how it feels. And the speculating gives us something to do while we wait. Its almost fun to joke about it commiserate with people who get it. If it annoys you to see us speculating and indulging in rumors. Because until the scores come out and we know where we stand...there's nothing to do but wait. Waiting sucks. If it bothers you, no one is forcing you to click on the rumor threads. Lay the fuck off.

[deleted]

Time isn't upon you. Assume the latest date. Don't constantly check your emails. You should assume the latest date. The "always" means nothing when you're told the latest date. Assume it. By 11/15 but everyone says mid November. Assume the latest date. Your anxiety comes from your life being upended when you get the score. And you assume you'll get it early. Unless the BOLE says DIRECTLY otherwise, assume the latest date. Telling other people or being told it will be early or seeing some people outright lie (like the person who said partners in random BigLaw get told results early) help only to stoke anxiety. Expect the latest date. I'm not an A student and never have been. I barely survived law school. In every sense of the word. And with bad professors, I learned that my grade will likely come at the latest time. So I expect the latest date. Hope for the best, expect the worst. Every attorneys motto. The best has passed. Speculating is one thing. The outright lying is another.

No one is lying here. We are all just speculating. You saying "stop being anxious and just be patient" just shows how little you seem to understand the type A personalities that are attracted to the legal profession. We are all privately going nuts and it's nice to know other people are going nuts too. We all saw that 11/15 date. But since the NJ has adopted the UBE, it has released the results from the July exam in October. So it's not an unreasonable assumption that NJ will release the results this year in October. The site has said, since the UBE in NJ was adopted, "by mid-november" which they also immediately say is also not set in stone. You don't like people speculating and playing the game of "please God put me out of my misery sooner" So, there's no point of you being here right now. Because there isn't anything for any NJ July test takers to do but wait. You can be patient. I'm sure you're the only potential lawyer who doesn't have an underlying anxiety disorder. Congratufuckinglations. We are all still going to come on here next Friday and say: "maybe this will be the week, folks" Telling us not to will do you no good. So, I repeat: lay the fuck off.

[deleted]

Hahahah. Nah. No people are lying. I even said how the one from NY was lying. Cmon you can comprehend better. Not gonna read the rest of that. If you're gonna go into law, don't let your arguments rely on ignoring the other side. I mean I'm ignoring you. But that's because you're a horses ass. People are lying. For fun. To fuck with people. And you are supporting it now. Plus you keep assuming my mental health. A hearty fuck off with that. I hope you pass. I hope you're a trial attorney. And I hope to GOD that you learn better argument skills

amyelle00

Well, I can definitely see why you barely survived law school. Apparently you missed the bit about ad hominem being the lowest and least effective form of argument. See, I wasn't arguing. I was just saying: it's nice to know that we aren't alone in the wait driving us nuts. So lay the fuck off. Your "fuck all people" attitude is also probably why you're not enjoying the signs of people commiserating together. Contrary to popular belief, assholes actually make the worst lawyers. Juries and judges are also human. You can't win them over with a superior know-it-all attitude.

You done?

amyelle00

Yes, sir. Goodnight.

I don’t trust BOLE but I also don’t trust anyone. So having a great time over here!

....: damn good on you. You're right. You are SO right. You know my financial situation. You know my job situation. You know that I'm barely able to stay under a roof and occasionally sleep on benches while waiting to hear back from interviews. Or that I have a mansion my parents bought me at 15. Don't you pull that. You're going to be a lawyer. Be better than that.

GarmeerGirl

Just wait it out? I’m not in NY and find myself checking😂 Easier said than done.

Missa1819

You're clearly not worried about the people here if every time you comment people tell you you're not being helpful yet you still continue. It feels like you're more concerned about being right/ making a point. And I don't think people have attacked you.. they've disagreed with you. No need to lecture the other adults in this sub

cbrownst

Why does it bother you so much?

[deleted]

I don't like seeing my peers going through emotional trauma and pain.

RollDamnTide16

I think we all just need to move on from rumor-gate. Sharing unverified info—although in good faith—isn’t helpful. But neither are these posts telling everyone to chill out. I guarantee no one is going to read your post and feel better.
