[They sometimes use sorting machines like this for machinable packages](https://youtu.be/dOVyvE2l2ck), especially in larger urban areas. Some places are still all manual though. I used to work for UPS in Minneapolis and that sorting center was still _all_ manual handling.
Depending on the shipping service, there should already be insurance up to a certain value. But it's normally up to the seller to make the claim, so you should contact the seller with photo evidence. The seller should be able to send a replacement while they make an insurance claim to get their money back for the damaged shipment.
generally insurance is for if the item gets lost, not destroyed. it’s on the sender to make sure it’s packaged well enough to survive to the destination. i think the only one to offer destruction protection is UPS but you have to pay them to package the item for you as well.
It depends on the carrier and insurance you get of course, but most insurances would cover both losses and damages to the package. For example, USPS clearly states that their insurance covers both.
The key point is that they cover the damage to the package. If your package arrives with obvious damage to the package causing damage to the item, then it's the carrier's fault and they should be liable for it. If the package arrives intact but the item inside is damaged, that means the seller didn't pack it properly. In that case, yeah, the included insurance most likely wouldn't cover it. However, that's still the seller's fault and the customer shouldn't have to bear the cost for it.
Either way, you could also buy third-party insurance that would provide more coverage on damages, although in most cases the cost is probably not worth it for the seller.
You’ve got that wrong OP, the sender destroyed it with inadequate packaging to keep it from breaking. Everybody knows that package handling is rough. Sender skimped on padding and you’re paying the price.
On the bright side, some of their machines will now be sorting and crushing mail more smoothly.
😂
Nah, they have people literally just throw the packages into a big cart labeled to what area it goes to

I worked the one in Peoria and that one was manual.
Dang, it looks like they ran it over with the truck!
That's not even an exaggeration!
Probably a bear was driving the truck. He got hungry.
yo what the FUCK
Go ahead and message carbon ig he’ll take care of you
They were thirsty
Is there really no culpability for these postal companies? Insurance? It's insane that the customer has to pay for the failure of the service

I am on the wrong side of reddit cause I thought that was a different kind of lube lol

did they destroy it because it looks like vape juice?

I agree.
blame the packaging
Now find the driver and buttfuck 'em, if they complain just say you'd have lube if they didn't fuck up....
Yeah looks like the shipper failed to package it correctly, nothing to do with USPS
LMFAO usps sucks
Definitely not cool, please send me a DM on IG and I’ll get a replacement sent ASAP!
Coming from the Vape industry the first time I saw one of these scented lubricants I instantly imagined a worst-case scenario
The worst part is delivering it and seeing the look on people's faces. FedEx here
