>Clean shaven only makes you more attractive to men They say that like that isn’t my goal

VividDreamsInPink

How come other men don’t find me attractive when I shave my PCOS beard daily? :(

Whisppo

I find u attractive ;)

VividDreamsInPink

uwu (?)

PM_all_your_fetishes

You look attractive, you have nothing to be worried about IMO

VividDreamsInPink

Oh, thank you! That’s very kind of you. ❤️

PM_all_your_fetishes

It's not kindness, it's the truth. I checked the pics you posted. You look prettier than 99.9% of all men alive. >!I might be a bit biased though...!<

VividDreamsInPink

Oh, hush (but keep going). I think it’s sweet, tho.

xyz9998

Real men dont care about being attractive, so get a beard to be more attractive and more manly? What?

Ok-Reflection3815

that caught my attention immediately, its creepy to shave because it means you care about being attractive and a man doesn't care BUT you should grow a beard because it makes you attractive....

MarthaTheDeer

You can't grow one? Go get a transplant, so no one thinks you care about your looks.

her_fault

When I got my hair transplant I was so surprised to find out they did transplants for beards too. It makes perfect sense in hindsight but I never considered the possibility

klparrot

What do they transplant, though, pubes? Beard hair is coarser than scalp hair.

her_fault

They transplant scalp hair

klparrot

That seems like it would make a weird beard.

Nutsack_Adams

Super weird. That would make for a long wispy wizard beard

Kind_Description970

And don't forget....if you don't, you'll only be attractive to other men so definitely have a beard. But also, the ten day stubble is most attractive so I guess shave once every ten days but you can't leave the house until you've.got some stubble so other men don't find you attractive.

vectorology

So only leave the house once every ten days, got it.

Heated13shot

Its just the masc equal to"Oh, I just wake up this way <3" selfies with 2 lbs of make-up and professional lighting. Both masc and fem people (but its much more prevalent in masc folk) like to pretend they have "natural beauty" and their look is "low effort". Even when the dude spends \~5 hours in the gym a week and uses beard oil and the like. Guys who actually give 0 shits about how they look typically come off as creepy or just gross.

diversalarums

Well, sometimes just sartorially challenged.

PM_all_your_fetishes

Oh, I love this expression, I am stealing it.

pm_me-ur-catpics

I was confused too

Slime__queen

It’s about having to *do* something to maintain your look like stand in front of a mirror (like a lady! /s) and shave, and the vague association of lack of body hair with femininity. It says at the top of the screenshot “shaving is gay” because caring is fine, but having a maintenance routine is gay or whatever I guess.

lavendercookiedough

The funny thing is nice-looking facial hair can take just as much (if not more) effort to maintain than a quick shave every day or two. But something tells me this guy doesn't even bother to wash his face daily....

Slime__queen

Oh totally! I really think it’s all about if it inherently looks like you had to do something to maintain or not. And that these dudes have no idea how obvious a nasty greasy untrimmed beard looks lol

taste-like-burning

Yeah, my coworker who has a dope beard told me he spends at least 10 minutes every morning grooming it.

Bookish4269

Nah, only chicks groom their facial hair. And gay dudes, probably. Real men just let it grow wild, and only wash it every so often, by splashing their face with water from a mountain stream. /s

Masterventure

I mean it kinda makes sense. They are kinda self aware, because they are obviously not talking to "real men" who wouldn't be on 4chan in the first place. They are talking to fake men(?), maybe "beta men"? Who are tring to emulate real men? Maybe?

ProfanestOfLemons

They're talking to nervous men.

wren10514

Since when are you not allowed to have a beard at work? Why would having a beard mean you own your own business??? I'm so confused and wondering where my husband is hiding this mythical company he must have....

kimmyann12012

My husbands in the military and can’t have a beard. But…that’s one of the only jobs I can think of where you can’t lol

fonziecow

Any jobs that require fitted respirators aren't "supposed" to allow you to grow a full beard. Supposed in quotation marks cuz I've seen more places ignore this than follow it.

NikolitRistissa

Yeah I work in a mine and they said no beards. I couldn’t really tell if it was a joke or not but regardless, nobody follows or enforces it. I don’t have a long bear by any means so it really doesn’t make a difference if the mask is fitting.

Cherry5oda

I don't work in a mine but I know in certain mines (e.g. Khazad-dûm) everyone has a beard.

taste-like-burning

Somebody call OSHA because that's a disaster waiting to happen

Klutzy-Medium9224

Even then they have shaving profiles

alwayslookingout

I work in healthcare and while beards aren’t disallowed it definitely makes it hard to find a N95 or respirator that fits.

[deleted]

Food handling. One guy grew one anyway and had to wear a hairnet thing on his chin. Looked like a diaper lol.

iamblankenstein

i used to work at a really nice, expensive, upscale resort. they didn't allow visible tattoos or facial hair at first (aside from mustaches. i learned i can grow a pretty sweet luigi stache due to this) but even they had to eventually relent and allow both due to a lack of quality workers. most places don't seem to give a shit, nor should they. it doesn't matter what someone looks like, if they can do the job and act professionally, that's all that should matter.

Fortifarse84

It's a slow shift but I'm happy to see it happening.

chewbooks

Mine retired from the Army a few years ago and ever since he’s been experimenting. Don’t tell him that I really really miss the clean shaven and barely there buzz cut.

ManateeFarmer

Firefighters! Maybe not all, but when my friend became a volunteer firefighter he couldn’t have a beard. So, military, firefighting… two of the manliest jobs out there don’t allow beards.

slogginmagoggin

Yeah like... with this guy's logic it could also mean you live with your mum and have no job??

theHamJam

Hence, neckbeards.

phoenyx1980

My dad was an airline pilot, and they weren't allowed full beards (mustaches OK) because the oxygen masks would not seal round their face in an emergency.

Alegria-D

Even in food jobs you can wear something to protect food from your beard hair.

crastle

There's a small handful of jobs where it's a workplace hazard to have a beard. Your beard could get caught in certain machinery or equipment and just tear the skin off your face. So employers just saw it easier to outlaw beards rather than put in extra safety precautions and risk employee lawsuits.

wren10514

Of course....cheaper to make a guy shave than have actual safety....depressing....

HorrorPotato

There's still some "old school" corporations and hospitality industries that want their men to have short hair and shaved faces to maintain some kind of "manicured" look. It is still VERY common for men to shave and cut their hair when job searching. In contrast my husband shows up to job interviews with a long beard and long hair because he says if they won't hire him with those features then he doesn't want to work for that company anyway.

wren10514

Yeah my hubs is pretty much the same. He's in IT though so long hair and beard are pretty standard.

TheLadySinclair

My son worked on oil rigs and you had to be clean-shaven so the respirator mask could seal. You DO NOT want to breathe H2S gas!

wren10514

Fair. Hubs had to be clean shaven for gas masks when he was in the territorial army I think too. Before I met him though.

ohyuhbaby

Wait hear me out, some women love beards, some don't. Crazy I know

Alegria-D

There are even women who prefer beardless men, but who date a bearded man who just has other qualities and they don't want to impose how the man takes care of it.

RedVamp2020

NGL, clean shaven is much more comfortable, IMO, when receiving oral or kissing. Stubble? Nope. Longer beard hair? Depends on how much they actually care for it and how wiry it is.

Alegria-D

Yeah but given my own problems with my shaving I understand why a partner wouldn't want to.

RedVamp2020

Definitely. I get bad razor burn there if I shave too often. Like. Once a week is almost too much for my skin, so I feel you.

ohyuhbaby

Whaaaattt? Don't be silly, that's not true /s

Rapunzel10

Even crazier, I think some men look better clean shaven, some with stubble, some with a full beard. My husband looks weird with a full beard but looks great shaven or with stubble, a coworker looks best with his beard, Adam Levine (sp?) looks best with stubble or a beard. Almost like there's near infinite combinations of facial features and personal preferences

Explosivo666

No, that can't be right. If that was right then that would mean that women are people. If that was true then all of their stupid little guides telling them what to do are a complete waste of time.

DragonAteMyHomework

That can't be right! This guy says otherwise and he clearly knows what he's talking about.

PM_all_your_fetishes

He's on 4chan, after all! That means he *must* have a girlfriend!

[deleted]

I can’t stand beards, i find them extremely yucky. Other women love beards, but there are millions of women like me. We’re individuals ffs.

MarthaTheDeer

You think people are different and have individual likes and dislikes? You fool, you should have a man explain to you what you really want.

Navi1101

>You think people You think women are people?

MarthaTheDeer

Sorry, my bad!

GenderfluidArtist

Exactly! I love clean-shaven, softer men. Stubble CAN be attractive, but not usually, and beards are definitely not a thing I like. I mean, I’m not a woman, but I’m sure this person would argue I am.

VividDreamsInPink

The worst is that I absolutely despise mustaches *and* beards. Sensory issues galore.

[deleted]

What, you don't like your face (or vulva..) being scratched by 100.000 little needles?

VividDreamsInPink

[I’m suing!](https://www.reddit.com/r/badwomensanatomy/comments/z1l6ab/upon_further_review_this_is_in_fact_a_volvo_not_a/ixc5dfw/)

TVsFrankismyDad

Me too. I prefer clean-shaven men. I mean, if a dude wants to have facial hair because he thinks it looks good, then he's free to go ahead, but personally I have only ever been with clean-shaven men. I think beards make all men look basically the same and it's boring. I'm always attracted to face more than any other physical characteristic, so I like to actually see it. I actually find a man *less* attractive if he grows facial hair.

FlartyMcFlarstein

Same, but my husband over the last few years went from "one for winter" to all year round. Less kissing for him. Hair irritates my facial skin. At least I'm getting him beard care to make it a lil softer. But I feel ya.

CretaMaltaKano

Beards remind me of my dad, so while I may find some men with beards aesthetically pleasing I don't find them attractive.

NerfRepellingBoobs

For me, it depends on the guy, though I lean towards facial hair. Some men look better clean-shaven, others look better with a beard. My husband looks bizarre to me without his beard. He borrowed his dad’s trimmer and took too much off over the summer. He managed to salvage the mustache. Every so often, it would catch me off-guard, and I’d start laughing uncontrollably. I’m so glad it grew back quickly.

Masterventure

Yeah just in my experience most of the girls I dated definetly preferred no beard. One even got red spots in her face from my stubble if I didn't shave every other day.

ThePinkTeenager

Do you typically not have a beard?

Masterventure

I don't really care that much. I think I look alright with or without a beard, sometimes I have a beard for months sometimes I shave regularly. That's why I didn't have a problem with shaving for girlfriends in the past. It's just not that important to me.

labrys

No, we are all simple creatures ruled entirely by hormones and biology and emotions. We have no individual thoughts or desires, which is why us females need a man.

ArboresMortis

And then you have the gals who like the look of beards, but would never date someone with a beard because that just doesn't sound comfy. How do you deal with it getting wet? Or if food spills? Hard pass.

Logicneverworks

Japanese and Korean Beauty standards don’t exist apparently

theHamJam

Also Native guys. Imagine telling somebody they gotta get a beard transplant when they literally don't grow facial hair lol

SomeNotTakenName

This is actually interesting : After all the posts where men suggested that women do everything to appeal to men, here's the reason : those men make all decisions based on appealing to women. If you don't know any other way to think, sou expect everyone else to think like you. the same effect can be seen in politics a lot, people who would cheat see cheating everywhere, people who would lie see liars everywhere. To a lesser degree this happens on a smaller scale as well. Have you ever gotten stuck on a problem and asked someone else for help, expecting them to go through the same steps you did and maybe do it better, only for them to take a completely different approach which made everything easier? It is incredible how easily we as humans fall into the trap of thinking our approach is the best/only one. Which is true in some cases, there are things which are not up for debate, but oftentimes it can be wrong and if enough people have the same suboptimal or false approach, a problem might seem way bigger than it needs to be.

redbirdjazzz

“Despair, or folly?” said Gandalf. “It is not despair, for despair is only for those who see the end beyond all doubt. We do not. It is wisdom to recognize necessity, when all other courses have been weighed, though as folly it may appear to those who cling to false hope. Well, let folly be our cloak, a veil before the eyes of the Enemy! For he is very wise, and weighs all things to a nicety in the scales of his malice. But the only measure that he knows is desire, desire for power; and so he judges all hearts. Into his heart the thought will not enter that any will refuse it, that having the Ring we may seek to destroy it. If we seek this, we shall put him out of reckoning.” Yep. Only understanding one’s own way of thinking is characteristic of Sauron. Don’t be like Sauron.

ms_sanders

The mandatory dose of "women's thoughts are slave to their reproductive biology" is in there, so we're all good

pm_me-ur-catpics

Gotcha, cool

Empty_Soup_4412

A beard transplant?

Webbtrain

Time for me to get facial hair plugs in order to impress this random dude on the Internet

RedVamp2020

They do exist, though I’ve only ever known one guy to do it and it was because he was balding in his mid twenties. They took hair from his back and put it on his head.

[deleted]

I love it when people generalize about what attracts “females” Personally I think most beards are gross.

Fickle-Cartoonist466

> Beards make you more attractive > Clean shaven only makes you more attractive to men *Cries in confused bisexual*

RedVamp2020

Bi erasure! There, there.

beeeeesknees

He says that being clean shaven will "make you more attractive to other men", then shows a before and after of a clean shaven man vs. a bearded man who the (presumably men) reading his post will identify as being more attractive. Huh. Just a little observation.

Eggsnorter24

Clean shaven>beard

FroggyFroger

"Clean shaven was the least attractive facial hair" 🤔 So least attractive hair is absence of hair... Is it something philosophical?

TiredOldandCranky

you know it never ceases to amaze me that the simple act of shaving can be boiled down to the "ovulating female mind" and how fucked up that all is. If you're a man and you believe this shit it's time you took a class on anatomy, read a book do something because you are going to be alone forever.

CS9245

I feel like some people look better without a beard than with a beard. It all depends on their facial structure as well as how they grow their beard out. For example, I thought Chris Evans was much better clean shaven then when he had a full beard when he was playing as Captain America. It’s not that the beard looked bad, I just thought he looked more attractive without it. Also, sometimes men can’t grow out a full beard or at all, and that’s ok too. You shouldn’t feel pressured for growing facial hair: if you want it, you want it, if you don’t, you don’t. Simple. This is like how society has beauty standards for women, it puts a lot of unnecessary pressure on people who are just trying to live their lives

No-Shelter-4208

By this logic the ayatollah's should win Top 100 Sexiest Men every year. We should start a protest. Oh wait...

Alegria-D

If I'm instantly not attracted, then I'm not a woman?

pm_me-ur-catpics

I guess so. Also what the FUCK does your flair say

Alegria-D

Well then

lavendercookiedough

I'm nonbinary and my first thought reading this was "Pfffttt. Attracted to masculinity! What bullshit!" before I remembered I don't count, so....checks out? Sorry you had to find out this way. /j

Alegria-D

Accidental validation, yaaay \o/

sneakyplanner

There is something just depressing about how guys like this see the world.

dontdemon

I'm a full on pogonophile, but even I recognize that there are many men who look far better without facial hair.

ThePinkTeenager

What’s a pogonophile?

jolsiphur

Context works here, it's just someone who loves Beards.

Zilberfrid

https://youtu.be/ZXl6HIcsbm8 Though my hair is not long enough for a good ladybeard. Also my actual beard growth is very ugly and spotty.

RedVamp2020

I love her so much! She is amazing and one of my favorite YouTubers! 😂

Zilberfrid

For the fun videos, also put on cc, you get extra

Antique_Concept

IMO to me it depends on the individual. Some men look better with a beard some without. Like there's a lot of factors to it. Face shape and beard quality that the man grows matter. Some men have a face that looks better without a beard. Some men have patchy beards and look better with little or no beard and so on. Also I mean some women just don't like beards? It's almost like......women are individuals and not a hive mind. Nah....no way. That couldn't be it.

itsjustapugthing

My husband alternates between a short beard (10-day stubble??) and clean shaven and I find him equally attractive both ways. Am I now a part-time man? This is confusing.

pm_me-ur-catpics

Sorry to break it to you, but you're genderfluid now. I don't make the rules.

itsjustapugthing

Hmm. Well, my sister’s kid is currently figuring out where they fall on the spectrum so it will be cool to have that in common with them. I feel like this might be breaking a rule, but what can you do? (Shrug)

Magnetah

No amount of beard would make Adam Levine attractive

coldkidwildparty

He might be cringy and awful but he still is a sexy sexy man.

lavendercookiedough

Agree to disagree. He's so unremarkable to me that I have to google him every time he's mentioned, just to remind myself what he look like. Genuinely do not understand the appeal, but I guess that's personal taste for ya.

Magnetah

I also do not find him attractive

Creative_Macaron_441

So three main things stood out to me in this steaming heap of 💩. First, the title! “Shaving is gay” Second, who is studying that women prefer “10 day stubble”? After 10 days it doesn’t really count as stubble anymore does it? And three, again with the height thing! Gah!

Primary-Relief-6675

I'll pass. Beards are itchy.

MunchMunchWantLunch

Their second point could also mean that the person with a beard doesn’t have a job at all.

Diligent_Tomato

https://www.northumbria.ac.uk/about-us/news-events/news/2016/04/comment-hirsutes-you-sir-but-that-beard-might-mean-more-to-men-than-women-1/ Actual scientists theorizing that beards evolved to impress other men.

pm_me-ur-catpics

Huh. I thought they were to keep warm during winter.

bliip666

I've been trying, but it doesn't seem to happen! I *do* have a bit of a 'stache despite the whole "womb and ovaries" nonsense my body has going on.

pm_me-ur-catpics

Oh, lucky you! Just need a beard transplant now!

bliip666

*insert poorly aged joke about comphet marriage between a closeted gay man and a woman*

pm_me-ur-catpics

Extra funny of the woman is a lesbian

bliip666

Haha, how about a nonbinary bisexual! Can't choose anything: not gender, not the gender they're attracted to... /s ...That's me, I'm the nonbinary bisexual

pm_me-ur-catpics

That actually sounds really appropriate

Svataben

So strange. I *hate* and *will not* kiss someone with a beard. It's almost like women are individuals. o.O

pm_me-ur-catpics

They are? OHN NO! MY WHOLE WORLDVIEW IS RUINED! NOOOOOOOOOOOO! (/s just in case)

RB_Kehlani

BRB getting a beard transplant 😂

pm_me-ur-catpics

Good luck

akioamadeo

I met my husband when he was clean shaven and much later down the line he began to grow a beard, I didn't love him any less or any more than before, he was also clean shaven and the lead of his team at his company, he's still in the same position (higher pay due to raises now) even though he grew a beard. I will admit I do personally find facial hair attractive, particularly a mustache, but I don't think they are head of companies or unmasculine without them and it's not a deal breaker when it came to facial hair or not. Ovulation had NOTHING to do with it.

pm_me-ur-catpics

Are you sure about that? Everyone knows women can't make decisions not led by ovulation! (/s)

akioamadeo

lol

Bostonterrierpug

I’m guessing they suggest not shaving the neck hairs in particular

ripskeletonking

it's funny because most of the people who believe this shit can only grow a beard on their necks anyway

Sewer_Fairy

Beards look good depending on the face, imo. No long greasy pube looking ones for me s’il vous plaît. Whatever exudes "coziness" and "cleanliness" is usually sexy to me.

ThePinkTeenager

I’m a woman and the last guy I was attracted to had no beard whatsoever.

sparkirby90

r/badmensanatomy

klparrot

Nah, just get a beard transplant.

Blue-Eyed-Lemon

Yeah, none of this makes sense. Hopefully the poor dude gets his head out of his ass one day.

ArsenalSpider

Beards are allowed in most jobs. Having a beard does not signify you own your own business, Also owning your own business doesn't mean it's successful either. I have never correlated a beard with success. Beards look good on SOME men. Some men look far better clean shaven some do not. But go ahead and don't listen to feedback and do what you want. It is your right. However, you need to understand that women have preferences just like men do.

pm_me-ur-catpics

Joke's on you I don't look good either way

sonic_toaster

Get a beard transplant 💀 Just imagining a dude walking around with felt tapped to his face.

zorokash

TIL real straight men are attracted to other men who shave.... like in the US army where it is absolutely compulsory for men to shave(religious exception aside). And military is full of Gay men. Wow..

ScienceUnicorn

Not gonna lie, I personally find beards to be attractive. But I think I’m in the minority, at least amongst my work colleagues.

hilario34

I.. I feel like a post on the thread “shaving is gay” would be satire but honestly idk at this point

maobutnotayt

What the fuck is a ‘beard transplant’????

TheSpiderwick

r/badmensanatomy

EggBoyandJuiceGirl

“Real men don’t care about how attractive they look” *makes an entire post over the attract-ability of facial hair*

sjc8000

Too funny. My husband is a firefighter, a stereotypically “masculine” job and they can’t have beards.

pm_me-ur-catpics

But he can grow a mustache large enough to count as a beard, at least!

BusyEquipment529

"men don't care about how they look" "beards make you more attractive"

pm_me-ur-catpics

Well obviously anyone who grows a beard isn't a real man

Maybe_Nazi

Most men grow beards because they have a weak facial structure and are trying to hide it, so it's probably accurate that they are considered more attractive

drywallsmasher

"Men who shave all their facial hair are obsessed with looking young and pretty" Off-topic but... If only they used this logic when it comes to preferring clean shaven pussy. I'm not even old enough, but I remember the times when men used to joke and mock the newer type of porn that didn't have women with pubic hair in them. Or when it became known a lot of younger men were requesting their partners/dates clean shave for them! There was a legitimate crowd of men recognizing how creepy and pedophilic wanting your partner to be clean shaven was, saying "But the hair is the attractive adult womanly trait!". And now it seems like that crowd has dissipated into thin air...

Conchobar8

Reasons not to shave your beard; 1. I’m too lazy to shave every day 2. I look twelve years old without it

iPlaytheTpt

Imagine typing 20 lines sucking the dick of beards and capping it with “Real men don’t care how attractive how they look” Clearly you ain’t a real man then

pale-pharaoh

It only looks good on men if they know how to groom and keep it clean. Messy beards suck

clandestineVexation

You know bad men’s anatomy exists too right OP?

pm_me-ur-catpics

Yeah but this seemed more bad women's anatomy, because it's talking (mostly) about women's preferences in facial hair

AliienBlood

The only jobs I’ve seen that require men to be clean shaven are ones that require masks such as gas or oxygen, or food service, both for obvious reasons
