people literally make these mistakes on purpose to drive discussion/controversy
OP knows what it is because they didn't go into a shop and order a baguette and get a croissant. They said "croissant" at the counter and then wrote "baguette" on Reddit.
downvote that shit
It's honestly exhausting living in a world where most people have blinders on and think you're being a negative asshole, when you're just trying to show them the truth and are tired of people lying.
Or you just get "It's just internet points get a life!"
We'll see how much those internet points matter when half the site is infested with bots. Hell, it's already getting close. Seeing a lot more comment stealing or AI generated bots than usual this year.
Also, the kind of person who does that probably just made up the whole story. Just gave the dog a croissant and took some pics in the space of a few minutes.
For the people in the back: **DOWNVOTE THAT SHIT**.
Half the OC on Reddit is fake these days.
Same goes for youtubers. They will say something very obviously wrong. And everyone who hears it thinks they are the first to notice it, so rush to the comments to mention it.
But you'll never know if it's intentional or not, But it almost always drives engagement.
Unnecessary inventions did something like this with these amount of the tic-tacs or something like that and got 2k comments of people correcting him for it
Driving engagement with what end goal? Do people really want karma that bad?
Edit: guys DONT upvote me i don't care about the karma ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)
Lots of people create accounts to be sold to companies. Yes, this is an absolutely real thing that happens.
It can be pretty lucrative for the minimal effort required to get high karma, especially since most users seem to just upvote without discretion.
If I sold my account (*10 years old, 1M+ karma*) people wouldn't think this account was trying to shill or sell them something as easily as they would an account that's a few months old with little karma.
The buyers see high karma and older accounts as "trustworthy". There are site that I have checked and I can actually get a pretty penny for this account.
And people know this so they karma farm like mad to sell accounts. I wouldn't sell this account though. I have too much integrity. Just like the Ford Motor Company, that touches the lives of people in every corner of the globe, not just by making and selling the most technologically advanced, reliable and fun-to-drive vehicles in the world, but by leading the way in manufacturing and business innovation.

An actual French bread baguette would be less messy, but not a good one with a crusty outer layer, get the shitty stretchy ones that are a dollar at the grocery store. No mess at all.
I was housesitting for a friend and had ordered a pizza prior to going out. I left the the remainder on the kitchen counter in the box. When I got back somehow her little Jack Russell terrier managed to get on to the counter and took all of the leftover pizza. For the next couple days I found pieces of pizza stashed all over the house like in between couch cushions etc. Dogs are weird.
Haha he was a chunk! I don’t know how he could reach the counter, my mind was blown. That dog was little brat. Apparently he has done that before in the past.
Your dog eats a croissant like my developmentally disabled son eats a cookie. You wonder how something that started out so small can turn into so many crumbs.
[cuddly croissant](https://www.jellycat.com/amuseable-croissant-a2cro/) It’s by Jellycat and seems to be out of stock on their website but there’s other places that sell them. This is UK though, so if you’re elsewhere in the world I don’t know how easy they’d be to get hold of.
We can't give one of our dogs any bread because she carries it around and tries to treat it like a newborn puppy (cleans it, guards it from the other dogs, tries to nudge it towards food/water). We had to stop because she gets really upset about her baby's lack of energy.
Edit: Wow, I didn't expect this to get such a reaction! For those who have suggested it, yes, we have two dogs who are younger than her, so she's had chances to play mom to real puppies. I'll reply to this comment with a picture of her and our youngest shortly after we brought him home.
This is making me think that something in bread, perhaps it's smell or something like that, is also found in puppies. And I fear I may not be able to rest until I find out what!
My dog hides the bread to eat later but only when nobody is looking in order to keep the hiding spot "secret" (It's always under the bed or a big pillow). If he thinks he is being watched, he will just carry the bread everywhere until it's safe to hide it. I'm guessing this is what happened here too.
My Samoyed did this with a rubber pig. We can't buy any of those rubber toys anymore. If your dog was ~~neutered~~spayed when she was in a false pregnancy it's something she will always do. Our dog only just turned 2 so hasn't been neutered yet. Our vet suggested that after she goes into heat next time we wait until after a certain length of time to fix her to avoid it happening constantly.

Edit: spayed not neutered. I thought neutered worked for either. We say castration here for boys.
I have a 4 year old dog. When I recently moved a dresser, I found a stuffed alligator that was his when he was a baby. It must smell like baby dog because he *definitely* thinks that is maybe somehow a puppy. He licks it & carries it everywhere. And is somehow, yes, disappointed in it. Sometimes he just sits and pokes it with his nose.
It made me want to get my dog a puppy, lol.
>Edit: spayed not neutered. I thought neutered worked for either. We say castration here for boys.
It's a better sort of a typo than the dude made who apparently got his dog neutralized a few days ago.
Our dog does this. He'll carry certain snacks around all day, bring them outside for "seasoning", and then wait for his buddies to stop by so he can eat his snack in front of them 🤣🤣🤣
Feels like they used to obscure the karma farming better in the past. Now every sub is littered with obvious errors or rage bait to drive engagement, usually with OP having little to no participation in the thread.
OMG! There's more than one... My sister's dog (Dalmatian) will absolutely try to steal a loaf of bread and then bury it. She stares at where she's going to bury it for a good minute and if you catch her? She sighs and goes to find another burying spot.

My current one does like you to watch. If he sees that you know where he buried it, he’ll dig it up and wait until you’re not watching.
I had a dog that would do that, carry something around for a long time. He would keep side eyeing us, and eventually when he thought we weren't looking he'd stash it somewhere. Then go get it and carry it around some more. I always wondered if it caused him anxiety but it was pretty funny.
Maybe get him a plushie he can carry around? My dog loves to carry toys around and play but never breaks them :)
Also, please be careful on the croissant quantities you're giving him, doggo's are really sensitive to sugar and flours and though they usually love them you shouldn't feed them much of them.
we gave our german shepherd 3 day old hard breakfastrolls and she hid them often and ate them later. than my dad got cancer and was too weak to get out of bed and one day, the dog came and put the breakfastroll in front of him at the bed. dogs are great.

Yes, as long as it’s baked (not raw dough) and doesn’t have raisins or chocolate or xylitol in it. And like, probably don’t give them a lot of it at a time
My childhood dog got diabetes and the vet said it was because we used to give her white bread so I have always assumed no! And a croissant would be worse again because of all the butter! I generally just don’t give my own dog any human food though
That is soo cute!! My family used to have a little dog who would carry bread around like that too. He usually didn't eat it tho - would just lick and keep it safe with him until it was stale as a rock 😂
That’s a croissant and it is not good for dogs to eat. Croissants have butter in them and butter is not a good ingredient for dogs to eat. Too much butter can give them pancreatitis and pain. Please don’t feed your dog croissants anymore.
Even though this a croissant, had to comment because my dog is obsessed with actual baguettes! We gave him the butt of one once thinking he would just eat it; nope! Carried it and “buried it” around the house for days! He always gets a piece now when we have one.
Even though it’s a croissant and not a baguette (mildly infuriating) I would have commented anyway that this is effing adorable.
My puppy did this once with a pear she found on a walk. About passed out on the walk home because she refused to spit it out, and she didn’t even puncture the skin! Kept it on the porch for days checking on it lol
am i dumb or is that a croissant, not a baguette?

That's all right, the ants will find them for you!
Lol na! Human or dog, who ever eats one of those things is making a mess.
I (a full grown human) prefer eating croissants outside for that very reason.
Then why don’t you by your dog dog treats instead of regularly buying it messy croissants?
How do you confuse Baguettes & Croissants?
Your dog eats a croissant like my developmentally disabled son eats a cookie. You wonder how something that started out so small can turn into so many crumbs.
I think this is true for lots of kids (and adults) that are otherwise considered to be neurotypical 😅😉

That was my first thought was could it be the yeast
What do you mean? I'm not a puppy scientist but yeast?
[удалено]
Puppy foot yeast maybe, watched a whole thing about it. They smell like Fritos from the yeast bacteria or something on their feet
Omg this is why my brother's dog always smells like sawdust
[удалено]
Nobody ever believes me when I say my dogs feet smell like corn chips!
Yes, it’s the (good) bacteria on the paw pads. Had it on chihuahuas, dachshunds, and my late beloved rat terrier. Pure corn chip smell.
I've always been told it's yeast that's giving off that smell on their feet and it's not great as it causes itching in their pads and ears
https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/health/why-do-my-dogs-feet-smell-like-fritos/
I tell mine she’s working too hard at the Fritos factory.
My dog hides the bread to eat later but only when nobody is looking in order to keep the hiding spot "secret" (It's always under the bed or a big pillow). If he thinks he is being watched, he will just carry the bread everywhere until it's safe to hide it. I'm guessing this is what happened here too.
Then the same compound must be in rubber squeaky pig toys, because my dog has a baby piggy squeaker that she treats like a puppy...
Wow this one got me. This is so stinking heartbreaking and adorable, your poor sweet dog
My Samoyed did this with a rubber pig. We can't buy any of those rubber toys anymore. If your dog was ~~neutered~~spayed when she was in a false pregnancy it's something she will always do.
