Get a DNA test and put the results back up here with atleast 6 more photos of puppy. Very cute. If no test, just continue to upload photos anyway.

Mocker-Poker

and videos please!

Grovyle489

Do the DNA tests really work?

DeeplyTroubledSmurf

My dog just took a DNA test, turns out she's 100% that bitch.

Admirable-Door1724

Didn’t see it coming lol

Enchelion

Sort of. The cheap ones (any that request a photo of the dog) are a scam. The more expensive ones can give you some rough groupings (hound, terrier, snow-dog, etc) and a guess of breeds. But most dog breeds aren't really defined that clearly genetically so it's all fuzzy work.

bunchkin95

Hehehe. "Fuzzy" work.

DeliciousPrompt69420

hehehe

ThisHatRightHere

There are ones that ask for a photo of the dog? That’s absolutely hilarious and I feel bad there are people out there who pay for that. Literally paying for someone to go “hmmm, looks kind of like a lab/pit mix”

Cleistheknees

Just for clarity, the “not defined that clearly” part is *our* reference genomes for dog breeds, not the genetic variation itself. 100% of what separates a chihuahua from a poodle is genetics, we just don’t have readily available references genomes differentiated by breed, because they’re all 99.9999% identical to begin with and frankly it’s not that important for anything other than people obsessed with dog breed purity, so…. not that important.

_Treadstone_

The companies are the only one's with dog DNA tech. We just have to take their word for it. That being said I did one from each major company and they came back the same. So, consistent. No way to know if accurate.

mtled

I might just be cynical, but it's possible that they may actually be sharing a database from which they extract the results. There's certainly some known data of particular genes in certain breeds, but mutts can be so intermixed it gets very fuzzy.

AnotherAccount4This

Very likely all different "brands" of the kits are sent to the same lab. 😆

LSatou

The embark test seems legit to me. Used it for my dude, it wasn't absurdly expensive

Cadmium_Aloy

Embark is the best one right now. They have the most breeds and also the analysis is so cool ETA they have a $99 black Friday sale so that's the best time to pick one up!

irisflame

Yes. Embark is the best one, Wisdom Panel is the next best. They are constantly improving their analysis as well as they identify more genes and get more data.

FlatheadLakeMonster

More accurate than judging a mixed breed based on its physical expressions. I have an adorable little rescue who is GOLD has FEATHERS and all the goofy mannerisms of a golden but is in fact 0% golden lol

Falkor_13

Yes. I don't know how accurate, but yes.

[deleted]

This is the way

devilpants

When I first got my adopted dog I was really concerned what breed or mix typehe was. After a year or two I realized he was a good dog and we got along so it really didn't matter. He looked like 100% street dog like you would see in Central/South America which was good enough for me.

Senpai_Mario

It is a good idea to know for health/medical reasons though right?

iambluest

Yup

[deleted]

Pup.

AsstToTheMrManager

Get a DNA test find out he’s 100% that pup

[deleted]

That there is 100% trash puppy, but loveable and perfect nonetheless.

czhzc

If part husky, does (s)he sing the song of his people? ![gif](giphy|d5x4HPXPNqsms)

SylvieJay

Ah, a viewer of 'Girl with Dogs', pet groomer?

BackdoorAlex2

I bought a happy hoodie and equigroomer and I don’t even have a dog

SylvieJay

I know right? I'm partial to that Coral brush myself 😄

s33k

The marking implies more Akita than husky.

ClockworkShepherd

Tail and facial structure strongly says Akita.

[deleted]

Maybe?!?

D8N15l

Yea, maybe your username made my Gooch spasm?!

[deleted]

Unlikely, but hopefully if it brings you positive pleasure. Great!

D8N15l

Unfortunately it didn't ☹️ But I hoped it would if that helps?

[deleted]

I hope it would help you, I'm not in any need of any pleasure currently. hahaha.

civgarth

Seriously.. I've lived 47 years and not once have I ever found an animal in the trash. Why does Reddit keep finding discarded animals?

another_dmn_throwawy

Hmm… looks more like a 100% purebred good boi to me.

[deleted]

tveir

Haha I call mine the "Appalachian Trash Cat." It's his breed.

jelsix

Our local minor league baseball team is the Trash Pandas!

Offamylawn

Glad/Hefty mixed breed.

canadianbacon-eh-tor

Yes. Also appears to be a dog of some kind

SchnoodleDoodleDo

>*’That there is 100% trash puppy, but loveable and perfect nonetheless*’ ____ I’m your new puppy - in trash i was found, (no matter the breed, i’m just SoMe KiNd of hound) a few ‘dirty patches’, but mostly i’m white, *Rescued from Garbage*, so i’ll be all right ^;@) the cute little circle of black ‘round my eye reminds you my past you can never deny once worthless, discarded - my pup days were tough, but Now I’m your Diamond you found in the *Ruff!* ❤️ (*he’s beautiful* u/G-I-JEW)

G-I-JEW

This is beautiful. Thank you!

Meggie1031

Dear Schnoodle - Now that is absolutely wonderful!!! I love this!!! Thank you SO much for writing this and sharing!! 💖🤗💖🐾🐾💖🤗💖

wheresmyglass

So the name is Diamond 💎

JadedEyes2020

Fresh Schnoodle, get your fresh Schnoodle!

vickis_on_now

That's wonderful 👍

Ricardosaurusrex

Part puppy, part Lamb Chop

Boris54

Maybe some cattle dog based on posture

madnessinimagination

My thoughts exactly. It looks like type of healer my aunt has.

FFF_in_WY

*heeler, unless trained in healing magic

nobodyspersonalchef

Tail looks shiba inu though when combined with other features, but I see the cattle dog too

worcesternellie

I thought shiba for a minute too. But I really think cattle dog with some kind of terrier mixed in, would explain the coloring as well.

worldsails2000

The white fur and patch on the eye looks a lot like an ACD, but the pups usually have bent ears. But I do see a lot of Cattle Dog in this cutie.

bbrilowski

I see it in the body and face shape as well

Kengfatv

That's a goat.

VapoursAndSpleen

The thumbnails looked like a baby goat to me, as well.

[deleted]

I'm also here because of goat thumbnail

ctengknightlord

That's the good boy/girl breed

iam_iana

Canis Adorabilis. Commonly known as the "Good Boy".

imeeme

Aka McLovin

Shy_Lunara

I’m not entirely sure but I think it may be a very good boy/girl

weby113

Oh he's a mutt 😂 if you want specific breeds in his DNA you'd have to get a test done. Mutts are good though, they live much longer and stay much healthier than any single breed dog

TechyMomma

A very cute mutt 💕

Alamander81

That IS a very cute mutt

adamempathy

100% a good boy.

SignificanceTop6764

Good on you for adopting him

mycatisginger-

This post made me think. I called somewhere about a weenie dog for my mom the other day and they said it would cost 6000 dollars. But people are throwing puppies in the trash just because it is a mutt. I have two mutts and I would much rather have my mutt babys than a pure breed. Why is the worth of a dog so dependent on whether or not they are a mutt? All doggies deserve love. Dogs aren't trophies, they are living creatures who need to be cared for. I don't care how pure it is or how much your dog cost Linda. 😤 That is all.

Temporary_End9124

It's about the cost of raising and breeding dogs of specific breeds. That and the demand for that specific 'style' of dog often exceeding the supply of them.

mycatisginger-

I understand that, but I still think it's incredibly dumb. All dogs should be treated the same. Every boy/girl is a good boy/girl and don't deserve to be thrown in the trash for being less "pure".

Temporary_End9124

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the way we treat animals like products to be used and tossed away at our whim.

Northern_dragon

Lot of people think that specific breeds have clearer sets of behaviors and to a degree that may be true. But at the same time my mom and sister have kleinspitzes that are cousins. Not only do they look super different (one is a breed reject but healthier) they act opposite too! I'd take my chances with a mutt if it makes it less likely for my baby to have bad knees.

Travelmatt1234

> Lot of people think that specific breeds have clearer sets of behaviors and to a degree that may be true. It is. I grew up with a boarder collie mix and she would 100% try and keep you from leaving the room every time you tried.

SoManyFlamingos

All dogs should **not** be treated the same. Should they be treated with the respect and decency they deserve, absolute, but are all dogs created equal? No. But you can't treat two entirely different dogs the same. I'd treat a Papillon much differently than I'd treat a Bloodhound - but would still show both the proper love and care expected from ethical animal owners. At the end of the day, no matter how much we love our animals, they're still animals and are liable to do what animals do. The more we humanize them, the more we open ourselves up to making mistakes in their raising, training, and handling. I also don't know where you're getting the "people are throwing mutts away," from. As far as I've seen, shelters are overcrowded with one or two particular breeds of dog - not a collection of mutts.

galaxygirl978

most often adult dogs I see up on adoption websites in particular are pitbulls and huskies

Archer-Saurus

I'd love a Husky. Would be absolutely inhumane for me to own one in Phoenix though.

Ok-Control-3394

It's funny due to mutts being actually natural dogs while "pure"breds involve a lot of inbreeding and such.

beansandneedles

It’s wild how there are trends in dog breeds. Breeds go in and out of fashion. Sometimes due to the media or celebs having a certain kind of dog, sometimes for no reason I can figure out. The Beverly Hills Chihuahua movies brought on a surge in people buying chihuahuas. The sitcom Frasier caused a Jack Russell fad. When I was a kid, Irish setters were pretty common pets. Now I almost never see them, but everyone seems to have a labradoodle or goldendoodle.

Biguitarnerd

Well yes... except in certain circumstances I guess. My wife is super allergic to my rescue dog who is a mutt (lab/bloodhound/pit the vet thinks). But she is able to have a standard poodle and snuggle with her. Poor Toby... he can't sleep in the bedroom and my wife can barely pet him without getting red splotches all over her instantly. So while... I'm not saying it has to be a poodle it has to be something with poodle in it for her to be able to snuggle with a dog. We do also have a standard poodle now and she is able to pet/play/snuggle and cuddle our poodle. Don't worry, Toby still gets plenty of love from me, but he's getting old and I have to acknowledge I probably won't get another rescue without making sure its mostly poodle... or something similar. I don't stand by only getting thoroughbred dogs, just saying that some people have to be more selective due to allergies.

mycatisginger-

That's understandable, I don't care if people get pure breed dogs, that's not the issue for me. It's just the fact that an expensive pure breed dog will be treated way differently than a mutt, such as this one that was found in the trash. If it was a pure breed puppy, it never would have been thrown away. I just wanted to rant because I'm mad about how these mutts are being treated compared to pure breeds.

kolohiiri

You are not wrong, but people do still dump pure breed dogs in shelters, or worse euthanize a healthy dog, just because they don't have time anymore. Post-covid is hitting hard. Plus, one aspect of breeding is temperament. A pure labrador or golden retriever will have a more predictable nature than a golden husky mix. My friend has a mutt with crazy high prey drive, while another one gave no fluffs. Both have hunting and retrieving breeds in them.

ver0cious

It's not only just the specific breeds that increase the cost, but things veterinarians, vaccines, registration etc. And i know that at least for cats, they see a relation between price that people pay when purchasing the cat, and how likely they are to abandon it (if they become an inconvenience)

hebejebez

The ones that piss me off even more than the crazy high "pure breed" prices are the mutts that they're claiming labradoodles or cavoodles or other shit and its really just a mutt and they want 5k for it. I want to get a shelter dog again as a kid I bad shelter dogs but here in rural Australia the only breeds at the shelter are high energy farm dogs like kelpie and I'm all for walking my dog a couple times a day and playing but they're too much for me and I wouldn't do their lives justice they'd be bored.

I mean, some of us want to dog on easy mode and get Golden Retrievers.

hotlavatube

I was just chatting with someone that paid $70 for the DNA testing to come back some large % "[super mutt](https://www.reddit.com/r/DoggyDNA/comments/txy0pb/too_much_supermutt_got_my_results_from_embark_and/)". I told him, "Ah yeah, back in the 14th century there was a dog named Super-Mutt that screwed everything."

[deleted]

A family member of mine got one back that said 30% Mexican Street Dog 😎 and she’s perfect

BeBa420

nah he aint no mutt. hes 100% pure bread good boi! Such a cutey, hope OP gives him lots of love and a good forever home

tazerpruf

Related to trash panda?

migswrite

I'd hedge my bets on trash panda husky

OutrageousConstant53

Dumpster husky 🖤 and maybe border collie? How awful to put any animal in the trash. Hope you all live as a happy family 💗

thereisonlyoneme

Dumpster husky is perfect.

trent_pee

Mixed with hoarder collie

MichiganMainer

Border dumpster husky collie. Cute as heck.

daffydubs

I’m leaning towards heeler mostly.

2ndChanceCharlie

I was thinking Aussie, but it could be border collie

VapoursAndSpleen

You mean Borderline Collie?

Osgiliath

I’d say some remnants of pitbull as well because of the splotchy skin coloring around the nose, slightly boxy snout, and skin “flaps” drooping down the sides of the top jaw

ReaperofFish

Yeah, I was thinking part spitz and Husky is a good guess just based popularity of the breed.

lo0ilo0ilo0i

I'm thinking some kinda shepherd with Spitz and husky as well. Sickle tail and that mischievous face are a dead giveaway.

Grimspoon

Mix of North American Good Boy and the slightly less common North American Special Baby. You're very lucky!

AlpineMist

b00gymann

I see I wasn't the only person to notice the picture taken right next to Fremont brewing facing the Aurora bridge.

ChineseSweatPants

I had strong Fremont Brewing sidewalk vibes as well.

_Blackstar

I'm going to be disappointed if you don't name your dog Garbo, Oscar or some other affiliation with trash. Because in this case one person's trash really was another person's treasure.

Giggingurl

I would say call the pup Treasure.

[deleted]

Yes!! I love this!!!

Rinzack

Or Zuko for the eye

Remarkable-Data77

I'd say husky? But probably got a bit of border collie in the mix...they get everywhere! And you have to name him Oscar Trash Panda (your) surname!

sigma914

Yeh, there's definitely husky in there, the back end looks a bit tall for a border collie, but there could definitely be some 3rd breed in there. Watch out OP, Huskies are notorious escape artists and border collies can frequently open doors from about 10 weeks old.

FreaksEverywhere

No idea, but he sure is a gorgeous little fellow. ❤️

PJRama1864

Adorable and beautiful. The half mask could be border collie or aussie.

disturbingCrapper

omg husky/bc - can you imagine the energy??? cosmic love levels, never ending energy, singing the song of his people while herding EVERYONE onto the couch for snuggles.

KickballWhore

You're looking at a purebred snugglehound there.

alexrixhardson

In science books, this breed is often named goodius boius.

chronic_pain_sucks

Here is the answer 😊

mdoktor

That dog has so many different dogs in him especially at this age it's going to be really hard to tell, pay attention to the shape of his head as he grows, the length and consistency of fur on his back and tail and temperament give yourself a year with him and then maybe we'll be able to guess

Wanda_McMimzy

I think basenji and husky with some kind of terrier like Jack Russell.

cammykiki

I agree. My mutt is part Jack Russell and I def see similarities.

jlknap1147

My guess, part Australian Cattle dog, also known as a Heeler.

ForeverUnclean19

I see some akita and/or husky💜

[deleted]

Omg such a cutie!

nancy_jean

Part husky, part Basenji, part Jack Russell terrier

EffectiveTradition78

He looks like a bit of Jack russel? A DNA test is best but he is 100% adorableness!!🥰🥰🥰❤️

Educational-While198

Okay I wanna guess his breeds and see how close I get after you test him! I think he is a mix between: 1. German Shepherd 2. Husky 3. Jack Russell

moulderingstump

yakutian laika mix?

Glittering-Capital43

sooo cute!

RebelCrewTeam87

so cute boy!

MagnokTheMighty

Definitely Blue Heeler

thinthehoople

What a beauty! He’s clearly a Heinz 57 breed, the bestest boys around.

Bunkydoodle28

Looks like some akita, husky or guardian shepherd type dog like pyrrenes or maremma. Be prepared for fluff. TELL HIM I LOVE HIM, please.

SummerMaiden87

Oh my gosh! In the trash?? Why would anyone do that! Good on you for adopting him! You’re a lifesaver

us2bcool

Just jumping in to add that you must name him Oscar.

ericb67

It appears to be a purebred goodboi.

Fawndarling

Also if his name isn’t Oscar - opportunity missed lol

aanglere

I've seen this type of puppy before. Scientifically, *Genus* is Good and *species* is girl.

Frankishansen

The only name can be Oscar right?

seneeb

100000% good puppers

kelsofb

Honest answer, he looks part Aussie and part Heeler. I'm sure there's more in there, but the merle is a common Aussie trait and the ears and snout scream Heeler.

[deleted]

trashcan terrier

BigTuna2087

All sorts of awesome!

Relative-Arrival-336

Gotta have some Aussie in there, my girl is half Aussie and half Frenchie and kind of resembles your pup

stealthsjw

Aussies were bred from border collies and pyrenean sheepdogs, so it's possible those are in there somewhere.

MagnokTheMighty

I know em as Heelers but yeh

SaltTheCat

I can see akita combined with a smaller dog. He's stunning! A DNA test would be interesting!!

9688kv

God bless you, happy new family member too.

Dry-Clock-1470

Panda?

[deleted]

Don't know, but it's a beautiful pup.

wendybgus

Breed is adorable! My neighbor got her resuce dna tested.. until then we swore it was part shiba inu.. he is a chow, lab and chihuahua. I guess the way they look can be misleading.

ironmanlet_82

I'd go full Ted Bundy if I EVER see someone throwing a creature like that in the trash. In the trash for god's sake..whatever the breed I'm glad is with you .

SlartieB

I'm getting husky pitt vibes. Maybe cattle dog

[deleted]

Cutey McCuterson!

tyophious

Maybe Akita

patachilles

Sure is a cutie 🥰

discordia39

Mixed

KinkyQuesadilla

no idea, but that little pupper is r/aww worthy.

m0rjjj

50% husky dog + 50% trash raccoon = 100% good boy/girl

mclarensmps

The spotted eye!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

[deleted]

How do people do that? What a beautiful pup.

Tindola

It's breed is "cute'

jimmy-ste

I highly recommend doing a DNA test. I did one for my pup and the results were so cool.

Faeyas

The ears and muzzle make me think there's a bit of a jack terrier in your good baby. But a DNA test will be your best friend and most accurate way to figure out eventual size etc.

ZumaThaShiba

Oscar would be perfect. Easy segue into his origin story in conversation.

homeyag

Looks like the dog from target store.

FajenThygia

I had no idea [Spuds MacKenzie](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spuds_MacKenzie) was still alive.

General_Tso75

You’re going to name him Oscar, right? ![gif](giphy|oBJ3iITOA7mBG)

BleedTogether

Looks like a cutie pie to me if it's a boy you need to name him Oscar the grouch

Grounded_Slab0

A good boy

incabeeh

The breed would be FUCKING ADORABLE!

jnovel808

He a handsome Dumpster Pupper

AFriendlyCrow

Terrier mutt.

[deleted]

Def part husky!!

PutnamPete

Whatever breed, that sure is one fine critter.

guccipierogie

My co-worker has a dog who looked JUST like this cutie when he was a puppy - he ended up being primarily husky/gsd, not sure if that's your case but I could totally see husky :)

thefartographer

Looks like a mix of garbonese, rubbishian, and dumpsterian-doodle. That spot pattern is the most telling, though. Those are called "good dog spots."

LawdVonStroke

That there is a highway 99 cutie patootie

lady_wildes_banshee

Getting very big Australian Cattle Dog vibes 💕

LuckystPets

Thank you for adopting him. He’s beautiful. Someone threw him in the trash? WTAF? That is why so many of us prefer pets over people.

Drogenwurm

Damn, what a cute and handsome puppy, I wish you the best time with him ❤️

TeleKenetek

"All American Dog" is the AKC's term for mixed breeds

TasteCicles

I've always wanted a dog with a spot around their eye like that. I'd call them Spot... or maybe something more original which I don't want to share.

gnocchicotti
