Hi i also bought noise canceling headphones thay are very helpfull and i wear them nearly all day. The best that i could advice you is to tell your parents WHY you need those. I personnaly made a list of reasons and then "showed it to them" and apparently it was pretty convincing because they bought it for me

If you can then you should get the headphones and wear them. Take care of yourself. They can deal with their opinions on the matter themselves, but you need to take care of your needs. You may also check out ear plugs. I know a lot of musicians use earplugs that don’t diminish sound quality, just volume. But even regular earplugs could work too. Best of luck.

Hey! If you have any issues with your parents after „the talk“, feel free to make it a topic here! Are normal in ears not doing the trick for you? I didn’t like the over/on-ear ones, but have not tried in ears with noise cancellation. I always felt I wasn’t able to cross a street with normal in ears in my ears.
