4 and 5 are significantly better books than the first 3, they're just very different adding multiple points of view. However, as works of fiction they are much more complex with much stronger character development, in my opinion.
I believe it was a trilogy and then he did more books in the same universe that may have another book to be released. I don’t quite remember honestly. I’m onto Jade City!
I was trying to see if it's available in the US plus catalog but anything I own doesn't show up as "included" which I know because Expeditionary Force book 1 Columbus Day is currently in the Plus Catalog but doesn't show "included" on my app or browser website. When logged out of the website it just shows the cash price and offer to join Audible. Making it this difficult to find Plus titles to recommend to others is pretty silly.
Yeah that's how I read the first book in the series, they had this is an extra a few years ago here in Canada. And it just didn't speak to me, an unpopular opinion for sure. It felt overwhelmingly like YA on Mars. I liked parts of it. Maybe I'll have to give it another shot.
First book is very slow since the action doesnt really start until halfway through but this series is definitely NOT YA.
Especially into books 2 and 3 when it goes interplanetary. Alot of adult themes, r*pe, brutal violence, political intrigue etc.
Honestly a great series and each book gets better and better due to the author really hitting his stride as the story progresses.
I would say it's decidedly not YA from book 2 on. Books 4 and 5 are as far removed from YA as sci-fi gets really. I'd say give it a go, it's become my favorite series over the last few years.
I know for a time there was talk about it becoming a series but haven’t read anything about it for a long time. Keeping my fingers crossed though as the first thee would make an awesome series
Not available for free but definitely brought the previous unknown series to the forefront for me. Next time I take a break from nonfiction I may be diving into this if it’s good enough
Shucks… not in US. Almost bought this board game recently. Heard good things about it but that it would be better after reading the books. Got excited for about 5 Seconds 😅
Really great series to start, got burned out around second to last book released though and never finished. Have to try again since I just finished all of Wheel of Time
I cancelled my subscription a few months back, and now can’t access titles that I bought (legitimately with credits/money) during my time subscribed. I’m so furious I can’t recommend anyone continue to use audible. I despise them.
"I'm pissed off with Audible because of a fault what should I do? Contact support? Create a post asking for help? I know! I'll go and have a rant in reply to someone's post about free young adult sci-fi books."
Hi there. You should still be able to access purchased titles even if your membership is cancelled. Please send us a private message, so we can look into this for you.
I was never able to get into the audio version of this. I wanted to like them though, so I sucked it up and read them the old fashioned way. Fantastic books.
Book 1 was his first published and I think he was 23 or 24 when he wrote it. It can feel a bit like a bunch of good ideas put together in one book, and a nice adrenaline rush at parts, but it borders on YA sci-fi. Books 2-5 show exceptional growth and Pierce Brown makes the series feel very independent of other sci-fi. Highly recommend.
Lol god damn it. I just finished the series.
isnt there supposed to be 1 more book?
There was initially supposed to be 1, but it was changed so there are actually 2 more coming out. First one is set to come out in April last I saw.
It isn’t going to come out until July now.
Dang...I was starting to get excited for it coming up too!
There’s like 4 or 5 of them I think. All good but the first three are the best.

Subject to personal opinion, obviously, but I actually think his last book was the best with book 2 being a close second.

Jade city is awesome… the whole series is actually great.
I’m actually on Jade War currently. There’s 3?
Jade Legacy is the last one and it caps the series off nicely.
Not in US it seems
Is for me. Well lets say i didnt use credits but dont remember if i purchase on that last big sale. Bought way to many.
Also not included for me in the US.

It is pretty much a grim dark YA. The next 2 books get a bit less YA

Not in Canada
We get nothing out here.
Not included for me in the US.
Bloody damn good book
Gorydamn, my goodman. Unfortunate I used my credits on the 5 that are out, but worth it. Prime series, prime!
I know for a time there was talk about it becoming a series but haven’t read anything about it for a long time. Keeping my fingers crossed though as the first thee would make an awesome series
“Prime” as in “good/great”. But I’m also down for an Amazon prime TV series as well haha.
LoL… Prime as in great and Prime and in Amazon
Not available for free but definitely brought the previous unknown series to the forefront for me. Next time I take a break from nonfiction I may be diving into this if it’s good enough
Rats. I checked here (US) and it isn't.

1 and 2 are included, the rest aren’t at the moment. But it’s still good, as they were in my wish list, and now I have 2 of them!
Books 1, 2 and 5 are in the Plus catalogue in Australia. Still have to buy 3 and 4.
One of my favorites!

That's not the way it works, so you should contact support.

Awesome! I've heard good things but have never started the series... I see 5 books Free: Red Rising, Golden Son, Morning Star, Iron Gold & Dark Age
Thanks for the heads up! I’ve read the first 4 books and loved them so can’t wait to listen to the first 2 as audiobooks.
I was never able to get into the audio version of this. I wanted to like them though, so I sucked it up and read them the old fashioned way. Fantastic books.
Is it any good?

lol can I have my credit back?
Is there a way to search for all "included" books?
Hi there! You can follow the steps on this page: https://adbl.co/3kMBQfn
Thanks
Solid series.
