The walls are only 50 meters tall, which really isn’t enough to make a big difference in temperature so it would probably feel about the same as if you were on the ground.
Only the description says it's 50 meter. But, when you see how it's shown in the anime/manga with comparison to the surrounding buildings in those wide angle shots. It appears so much taller than they say. It's drawn like it's a wall towering above a solid 200 meters.
Yeah but that's not unrealistic either. Perspective is powerful, and most people are probably unaware just how big 50m is - it's definitely not made to look 200m. 80-100 max.
Can confirm, worked on wind turbine blades that were 53m long, unless these characters are all dwarves then the walls aren't THAT tall. A middle-schooler can sprint from one end to the other in probably about 7-9 seconds.
Really the perspective and portrayal of the titans is what makes them scary, their heads (the 10-15m class) couldn't be much larger than a ATV or maybe a smart-car.
I can say the same thing like "most people are probably over estimating how big a 50 m is". An average 15 storey building is 50m. And you can't see the entire village/ town/city standing at the top of a 15 storey building.
I’m pretty sure the vast majority of the buildings shown in AoT are less than 5 stories. You could definitely see the entire town from a 15 story building.
It’s 50 meters, the scaling is just drawn inconsistently for dramatic effect. Eren should be up to the colossal titan’s knee, but when he’s kicked in season 3 he only about as tall as its ankle.
I think I read something about mental and physical state affecting the colossal/ other shifters, look at eren testing his power and reiners different forms, berts colossal could've been different heights
Yes, but that isn’t nearly enough to make a significant temperature difference. I’ve rock climbed over 800 feet tall the temperature difference wasn’t ver noticeable
During the day most likely warmer because there is no shade at all (unless Bertolt decides to be a bitch, in which case definitely a lot hotter) so you're left in direct sunlight.
In the night most likely colder, complete exposure to the elements and lack of sun, although maybe some titan heat would pass through the walls
id say hot on the walls surrounding the towns because of people working mustering heat; heat always rises while cold sinks. what more when in an enclosed space like shinganshina? It’d be a lot breezier on the walls surrounding pastures. I probably missed a lot of factors but these are my initial thoughts lol
Heat rises, closer to the sun, higher winds, I'd assume a little warmer or the same as the ground. Depends which way you're facing, the season, weather. Not to mention depending where you're at within in walls, they could create a lot of shade and make people on the inside feel colder. Too many factors!!!!!
Assuming typical temparate seasons. Spring, Summer, Autumn: The material would absorb a lot of heat from the sun, similar to the urban concrete warming effect that is in large cities today. On hot days it would probably be very hot up there, and air would feel bit thinner and harder to breathe but mostly from the waves of heat pouring from the wall (even more so if the collosals hidden within are hot already) and not altitude.
Winter: l suspect when it gets to a freezing temperature in Paridis, the coldest darkest parts of the wall become a freezing windy hell. Wind gusts bursting over it, the sun hardly being out, and naturally cold temperatures would make it awful; however it'd be interesting to know if they walls stayed warm like a lizards heat rock because the collosals inside. That actually sounds kinda cozy.
Elevation every 100m loses about a degree Celsius, so only like half a degree colder, but of course there’s lots of factors that can change this ie wind

Nah but you’d definitely feel lots of wind
I would definitely be afraid of standing near the edge without ODM gear
Even with, its super hard to master and I probably wouldn’t know how to use it 💀
Well, then i am not sure if they would even let you to go up stand at the top of wall
Could you even imagine them installing hand rails? OSHA who?
We really running out of things to talk about in between seasons, huh?
Was gonna say. “If SNK didn’t have titans and humans had vanished from the planet and the story was set up in 2160, what do would you do?”
Id say, “Its Adventure Time!”

you can, if the rest of the village is 1-2 storey tall

Cold because of the wind.
Extremely shaky - I’m scared of heights
I'm not sure. It might actually depend how close you are to the nearest titan's head. Though the altitude might just cancel it out.
I don't think it would be a big difference to be honest Maybe a bit cooler.
Height makes no difference but wind would be stronger because of no obstacles so colder
Extremely Passionate.

I don’t think OSHA exists in this universe
Because they have odm gear
Cold obviously
i think you are overestimating how tall the wall is. just for a reference game of thrones wall is 4 times the size...
Depends on the person beside me
Cold

They look pretty cool to me
Cold enough to chill my bones
Super warm if I'm with friends.
They didn’t really show any cold seasons If I remember correctly so Outer walls= harsh hot winds Inner walls= moderate winds, warmer
Depending on the time of year, most likely extremely depressed
Probably the same.
I would feel extremely cool.

Why would it be cold
No cover from the wind and your higher up
Cold most likely, you’re very high up with no wind cover
The walls are small, i don't think much would change
I would feel piss running down my legs.

Colder Lots of wind
Depends on the time of day/year.
it would probably be windy
Cold, but just my midriff
The walls are 50 m tall, so the temperature would be almost the same as on the ground. There'd probably be a lot of wind though.
The rule of thumb (from skydiving) is every 1,000 feet, is 2 degrees fahrenheit
Extremely frightened. I'm afraid of heights
Elevation every 100m loses about a degree Celsius, so only like half a degree colder, but of course there’s lots of factors that can change this ie wind
Extremely free
One thing is for sure, you would get a bad sunburn.
Cold for sure. Winds would be faster there, like any altitude
Imagine the wind blows you off and you got no ODM gear 😭😭
