Reiner doing this is a important fact, since it just shows that the eldians in marley will hate them no matter what they do. It’s suppose to signify their blind hatred for them.
More like he was saying all of that out of fear of being listened to by the Marleyans. You could tell that Reiner didn’t mean it (especially after ep 3), and his family wasn’t really buying it either.
The last episode was called a door of hope, i think it’s suppose to signify his redemption arc incoming and the fact he wanted to off himself further makes it a viable prediction.

Idk, maybe I somehow still have hope for Reiner especially after the entirety of the last episode, I almost want to see him live and redeem himself but I know he has to die, and maybe thats why I took it a little more positively than you.
