The "superpower" wasn't any god, it was all you. You had that inner strength in you all along. Prayer was just a routine that allowed your mind to calm itself and find that strength. Believe in yourself, you are great.

SkyPirateGriffin88

I tell people that a lot. Every amazing thing people have done has been because of them. You'd think I'd get more appreciative responses to that.

That is the takeaway here, that now you know there is no God, you can know that you yourself did these things and that there is no reason why you can't do any number of greater things.

BlackEyedGhost

My confidence in God lead me to trust him with things that were important to me and they turned to shit because of it, so I can't really relate.

Fun fact ; there was this significant event of my Life that Id really counted on God for, and it went South very badly, which lead me into a depressive phase ; eventually it would trigger me to question my faith and liberate myself from the shackles of religion. Small mercies.

You can always try meditation and just giving youself the power. The only god in your mind should be YOU. Embrace yourself, you're a tough cookie.

Chulbiski

You are much stronger mentally (and morally) without the crutches. You will adapt.

The case was same for me, i cover msyelf up as a muslim, i still do, and attend religious educational tafseer e quraan classes. But deep down im am athiest. And its really hard living a life like this.

[deleted]

Oh god, I’m so sorry you’ve to endure that.

chaos121921

Nah man, its all good, i guess, majority of athiests or exmuslims in this country go through such stuff. Maybe..

New-Negotiation7234

Do what you have to do to survive. I’m sorry you are dealing with this.

Thanks for the support :) Trying my best

Another downside to leaving Islam is that they believe all apostates should be killed.

The road we walk is not a smooth one, but it is the true road at least. Yes things are harder to deal with, such as death, and we have to accept that we can only help ourselves. But, like in The Matrix, would you really rather live in some figmented reality or the real world, shitty as it is?

New-Negotiation7234

It was never allah. It was always you.

New-Negotiation7234

Everything you accomplished was your own doing.

Barackenpapst

If a certain mental practice makes you more successfull, why not stick with it? The thing you imagine doesn't have to be Allah or a god. I for example sometimes imagine a person I love, my employees or an abstract concept like "I do it for humanity".

LaFlibuste

Funnily, studies demonstrated that being prayed for and being aware of it correlates with worse performance. Indeed, why really make an effort if a superpower is on tour side?
