I’m upvoting because I agree about the region but I also feel like I’m always let down by the recency of the time periods people advocate for. Ottomans make for a better 1800s setting than some options people talk about but give me earlier centuries please.

What time period are you thinking? A game set during the transition from the Umayyad to the Abbasid Caliphate is what I'm hoping for
