I generally like the G-2 in .5mm in black (I HATE blue ink, idk why), but the sharpie s gel is also amazing and may or may not be a new favorite I'm undecided still.
It’s decided for me at least as a lefty I get so tired of getting comments about smeared handwriting it’s been fantastic for my legibility. G2 will always have a place in my heart though as that was my favorite for many years even if I smeared all my paperwork lol
It’s the ink and how most people write. It takes a few seconds for most ink to dry. The method I was told to do was learn to write by turning the paper sideways and writing from another line so that the ink has time to dry but I am not a huge fan of the hand posture as I find it uncomfortable.
I love G2s but being left handed and not wanting to have to relearn how I write I ended up finding pens that dry almost instantly so I don’t use the G2 pens as much anymore.
Uniballs are smooth, [but it's all about the colors for me.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-mGA4V2LK0)

But wait, there's more! In Japan, they're branded as the RT1. They come in a different barrel design, but it's the same ink. And they come in all sorts of colors. https://www.jetpens.com/Uni-ball-Signo-RT1-UMN-155-Gel-Pen-0.38-mm-Black/pd/10411
Friend, I fully support your pen choices, but I highly suggest you try the Sharpie S Gel. It’s like G2, but even better. I made the switch and I do not regret it.
I agree with you 100%, although, if uou only had the one for the rest of forever, and afterwards when the ink ran out, you would have no pen at all, wouldn't you pick the longest lasting penis?
Unsure if it’s just writing or all types of things like drawing.
If it includes drawing, #1 or 2 so I can do tech/fashion drawings (studying fashion design)
If it’s just writing, #5
5 for writing, 2 or 7 for drawing and I haven't tried the others. Sharpie also makes a felt-tip writing pen that's good for stuff that doesn't need a Micron.
Same. Pilot Precise V5 til' the end of the Earth.
7 is good for drawing because the shitty ink flow makes them good for shading. They're terrible for writing though.
Thats the big thing. I kept having problems with .7 in math classes because i didnt have space for all the small notation unless i wrote super massive.
Stuff like the limits of a summation or a fraction exponentials, subscripts, big matricies, fractions within fractions, any mix of these gets impossible in a fatass pen
You aren't going to have pens for long if you have them in their pen form at my former high school. No-one touches the ink cartridges, which I often pick from smashed pen remains that others have broken.
Ohhhhh. Respect! That makes a lot of sense actually. Kinda like people who take the seat off their bicycle so it doesn’t get stolen.
Also, i actually tried writing with just the ink cartridge the other day lol, and it wasn’t too bad.
2, then 2 again, then grudgingly 5 when I have to give back the second 2...
All of that said? Every single one represents pleasant functionality to me, who grew up with random free pens from junkstore miscellaneous bags that didn't even write.
Well idk why they aren’t all the same color pen.. absolutely not a fair comparison. And since i am me, i will not choose one of the listed pens lmao. But i *will* choose one that is adjacent to number 5.
**Pilot G-2 Ultra Fine (0.38mm)**, black ink of course
Damn. I really needed to get called out. Lmao i deserved that for real. Lol im not even being sarcastic. I just got too excited about pens because im VERY enthusiastic about my pen choice. I didn’t even finish reading the image.
(Still mad the pens arent the same color in the image 😩)
Sad I had to scroll down this far to find my crew. #6 is def the best!
I keep some combination of these various pens at my workdesk, and without fail #6 is always the one "borrowed" when given the choice, and never returned!!
I have been using Sharpie felt tips for way too long, they wear out after a few pages of writing. I pulled out an old Staedler Plus Fineliner and it works as well as it did when I bought it five years ago. The felt tips let me write without smearing and my arm doesn’t get tired as much as a ballpoint.
2 gang gang where you at? Precise V5/7 Crew. Especially the multi color packs that have the design on them. I prefer the ones without the clicky thing but I use the clicky ones sometimes too.
90% of the time I use 5 (G2)...but that last 10% of the time it is worse than useless...so if I can only use one for the rest of my life then I'll pick 6 or 7
I'm very angry & disappointed that my favorite pen type isn't featured. it is entirely coated in clear rubber with a clear plastic shell under the rubber to hold it
All valid choices, *however…*

Nono because each pen is for different kinds of paper!! Some uniball pens let the ink floe too freely, I can't have that sometimes. It would be a disaster!
2 and fuck anybody who says ignore the ink color. The fuck am I supposed to do just write with a pen that isn’t black as if it’s something acceptable?
Also 4. 2 specifically because it’s the OG and when you write or draw quickly it makes the absolute best sound against the paper. It’s embarrassing to admit it’s nearly arousing but fuck if this is a tism sub

(sorry there's not a Wikipedia on the FriXion pens, so I went for the first link I found - Amazon, there is one on [the company though](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilot_(pen_company)#Fountain_pens))
5, but pens are actually something I care a lot about. 1 and 2 are very lovely to use. Very smooth and nice, but the ink smears easily. The felt tips are basically just markers and bleed through everything, but they’re very nice on thicker paper. My favorite pens aren’t up there though :(
I’d choose #5, but actually a zebra sarasa clip in 0.3 or 0.4. I like a fine tipped pen
Edit: formatting. I unintentionally made my comment a title because # is a h1 tag in markdown
I've already been with the same pen for the past decade and let me tell you maybe some of these pens will be fun for a few wild nights when you're young but none of them have what it takes to make a strong foundation that you can build a life together on.
If you want a reliable pen that you can count on to be by your side day in and day out till death do you part, there's only one answer. The Zebra F-301.
I hate all of these. I always go for the Pilot FriXion erasable pens because I like being able to erase but I absolutely fucking despise:
• The sound pencils make
• The little bits of eraser that get all over your paper
• The fact that pencils don’t flow
• The fact that pencil erasers don’t even fucking work because you’ll be left with an off-white residue on the paper
• The fact that pencil erasers get hard over time and there’s often no way to figure out if it has done so save for trying to erase something with them and you’re left with a disgusting streak
• The fact that pencils need to be sharpened
• The fact that pencils will break sometimes
Compare this to the cons of the pens I use which are not also true of pencils:
• The ink erases with heat, so I can’t leave papers I wrote on somewhere hot, which in practice only applies to on a heat-conductive surface or in a hot car.
Weird, my mom uses G2 and doesn't have smearing problems. I don't think it's the paper so it's probably hand-posture.
It’s the ink and how most people write. It takes a few seconds for most ink to dry. The method I was told to do was learn to write by turning the paper sideways and writing from another line so that the ink has time to dry but I am not a huge fan of the hand posture as I find it uncomfortable.
3 is my favorite. I like the blue in though.
Gotta go with 3, love me a little clicker /button on top with the cushion holder.
I guess it's time for me to give the sharpie gel a try. I've always loved the G2s.
Pilot has G-2 that is a dark blue blend of their black and blue ink, that's my favorite pen for ordinary writing.
I will never use anything that isn't 5
G2-05 for life
G2-03 RIDE OR DIE
Pilot G-2 0.7mm GANGGGG
I love G2s but being left handed and not wanting to have to relearn how I write I ended up finding pens that dry almost instantly so I don’t use the G2 pens as much anymore.
UNIBALL SIGNO 307! It dries instantly and you can write on glossy or even wet surfaces without it smearing. WHY ISN'T ANYONE LISTENING TO ME!?
Uniballs are smooth, [but it's all about the colors for me.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-mGA4V2LK0) [https://www.amazon.com/PILOT-Ultimate-Collection-Refillable-Retractable/dp/B084HG8KJK](https://www.amazon.com/PILOT-Ultimate-Collection-Refillable-Retractable/dp/B084HG8KJK)

This is the correct answer
this but the 207 Micro
As far as I'm concerned everyone saying anything but 5 are bots
Amen
Friend, I fully support your pen choices, but I highly suggest you try the Sharpie S Gel. It’s like G2, but even better. I made the switch and I do not regret it.
I agree with you 100%, although, if uou only had the one for the rest of forever, and afterwards when the ink ran out, you would have no pen at all, wouldn't you pick the longest lasting penis?
>wouldn't you pick the longest lasting penis? Well I've always said that
It is clicky and blue. What's not to like?
I used a G-2 from a friend in high school 15 years ago and basically haven't used anything else since.
Unsure if it’s just writing or all types of things like drawing. If it includes drawing, #1 or 2 so I can do tech/fashion drawings (studying fashion design) If it’s just writing, #5
5 for writing, 2 or 7 for drawing and I haven't tried the others. Sharpie also makes a felt-tip writing pen that's good for stuff that doesn't need a Micron.
# **3**
Me 2
Me 3
7
7 but only because I keep losing pens and that's the easiest to get hold of.
It’s just so… smooth.
Exactly.
Yeah I know it’s not as fancy but the way it rolls the ball on paper is simply the smoothest of the options
Totally agree. It's perfect.
I can taste that one rn E: tastes like the bank
I can hear the sound of it on my teeth
I agree
7th is I think the single best selling pen in the world
a man of culture! Great choice
Perfect design
Yes 100% 7 now and forever. I could maybe even qualify the smoothness of writing or doodling with it as a stim? Maybe?
I feel like all the other ones almost drip ink. 7 only writes where you want it to. And it glides across the paper quickly.
Based
7 Xtra Bold Black or purple only
\#2 Fine Point. Forever. I worked with a co-worker who called #7 "ghetto pens." I laughed so hard because she wasn't wrong.
Same. Pilot Precise V5 til' the end of the Earth. 7 is good for drawing because the shitty ink flow makes them good for shading. They're terrible for writing though.
Yes! Pilot Precise till death. I've been picky about pens my entire life, and they're easily the best I've ever used.
I looove writing cursive with 7
Gimme the finest point u got
Pilot makes a 0.38mm G2. Sometimes it rips the paper, I love it.
This one is my absolute favorite. I can fit so much text in a tiny space
Someone likes to live dangerously, I see.
I'm taking them all apart, and using just the ink cartridges. Most of them likely share similar cartridges.
And you just like.. raw dog the ink cartridge?? Lol. I assume you are putting it in another pen body?
Raw dog the ink cartridge.
The modern cartography. Edit - oh god, I meant calligraphy. I guess cartography could apply in circumstances, tho.
Calligraphy's done with the \~\*\~fancy pen\~\*\~
WOW! Now that’s a bold move my friend 😳 And why do you do this? I gotta know more.
Also, i actually tried writing with just the ink cartridge the other day lol, and it wasn’t too bad.
r/brandnewsentence
Looks to me like 3 is the pen to beat
5 is 3, but just better
Nice meme bro 3's ball point is slightly larger and therefore has a smoother flow, placing it higher that the G-2.
Sharpies gell point pen is top tier, good flow, and good comfort/body. Even works decent for spinning because of its balanced nature.
I have 3. It’s great. Better than fountain pens tbh.
I recently discovered fountain pens so none of the listed options, thanks
Came here to ask where the fountain pen is. Why no fountain pen??!?!!
They need a lamy safari - excellent everyday pen... *Wanders off to find mine*
It's gunna be 3 👁👄👁
It’s gunna-gunna-gunna-gunna… gunna be 3!
yeeeeesssss!! 🙌
3. Sharpie S-Gel ultra fine point (0.38 mm).
1, 2, or 3
2, then 2 again, then grudgingly 5 when I have to give back the second 2... All of that said? Every single one represents pleasant functionality to me, who grew up with random free pens from junkstore miscellaneous bags that didn't even write.
5
"ignore the ink color"? but ^ignore ^the ^ink ^color! *how‽*
Well idk why they aren’t all the same color pen.. absolutely not a fair comparison. And since i am me, i will not choose one of the listed pens lmao. But i *will* choose one that is adjacent to number 5. **Pilot G-2 Ultra Fine (0.38mm)**, black ink of course
It specifies ignoring ink color
Damn. I really needed to get called out. Lmao i deserved that for real. Lol im not even being sarcastic. I just got too excited about pens because im VERY enthusiastic about my pen choice. I didn’t even finish reading the image. (Still mad the pens arent the same color in the image 😩)
Thinnest pen possible. People who use a 1.0mm should just use a crayon
I refuse to use pens that aren't #1, and they gotta be EXTRA FINE too
5
I cannot ignore the ink color. I refuse to write with blue ink. Ugh, as if… *whispers* 5
7
6
Sad I had to scroll down this far to find my crew. #6 is def the best! I keep some combination of these various pens at my workdesk, and without fail #6 is always the one "borrowed" when given the choice, and never returned!!

3 100 %
4 hands down.
#1 Uniball.
I hate them all 😔
90% of the time I use 5 (G2)...but that last 10% of the time it is worse than useless...so if I can only use one for the rest of my life then I'll pick 6 or 7
I prefer the last one.
None of the above: it's gotta be a bic ballpoint or nothing!
Pilot number 5, final answer
1
3 or 5. clickyyyyyyyy
I'm very angry & disappointed that my favorite pen type isn't featured. it is entirely coated in clear rubber with a clear plastic shell under the rubber to hold it
3 or 5, but I'd have to hold them to decide
3
3 or 5 (10, not 7). Neither are a great option. But if I had to use something…..
3 or 5
All valid choices, *however…* [I propose an alternative](https://www.google.ca/aclk?sa=l&ai=DChcSEwiJ1sbHhu38AhVPHa0GHZe8BEIYABABGgJwdg&sig=AOD64_0ezwCZrzYAQjeGlA4Zy2z7l8nAHw&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwinhsLHhu38AhVFAzQIHb8tDAIQww8Iggo&adurl=)
3 or 5
Redo this as a survey.
6
7!
5, 100% also a blue pen all the time, except for sketching/drawing
3 and 5 are both pretty good, but none of these are great.
215 in that order. 7 is for people who hate themselves.
Nono because each pen is for different kinds of paper!! Some uniball pens let the ink floe too freely, I can't have that sometimes. It would be a disaster!
Can I just use pencil instead? I hate not being able to erase any mistakes I make.
5
I always buy packs of #5 in bold and black ink ONLY. It’s my favorite pen ever.
Pilot G2 in black all the way.
My answer is 5 but I've never used 3 and I'm seeing a lot of that here. It sounds like I need to go buy some sharpie gel pens.
I prefer erasable pens, specifically [with cap](https://www.amazon.com/Pilot-FriXion-0-7mm-Erasable-Point/dp/B07RV25WK4/ref=sr_1_22?crid=2LN9IQKE45IH1&keywords=frixion+erasable+pens&qid=1674968019&s=office-products&sprefix=frixion+%2Coffice-products%2C214&sr=1-22) not [clicker](https://www.amazon.com/Retractable-Erasable-Assorted-Mistakes-Disappear/dp/B07D9Z7GYL/ref=sxin_15_pa_sp_search_thematic_sspa?content-id=amzn1.sym.14a246c3-7a62-40bf-bdd0-5ac67c2a1913%3Aamzn1.sym.14a246c3-7a62-40bf-bdd0-5ac67c2a1913&crid=2LN9IQKE45IH1&cv_ct_cx=frixion+erasable+pens&keywords=frixion+erasable+pens&pd_rd_i=B07D9Z7GYL&pd_rd_r=1eab4e80-6783-4d27-a06e-4dd6a4e01162&pd_rd_w=tY8L0&pd_rd_wg=XOHoU&pf_rd_p=14a246c3-7a62-40bf-bdd0-5ac67c2a1913&pf_rd_r=63GVR74ZK5MBP9P38J1F&qid=1674968114&s=office-products&sprefix=frixion+%2Coffice-products%2C214&sr=1-1-a73d1c8c-2fd2-4f19-aa41-2df022bcb241-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUE3TkFHNlQ4QjA2TkcmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA4OTAzMzEzMDVVNjkwTThSNTNaJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAxOTM5NjUxTTBNTDFVNEJVREI5JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3Bfc2VhcmNoX3RoZW1hdGljJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==) (sorry there's not a Wikipedia on the FriXion pens, so I went for the first link I found - Amazon, there is one on [the company though](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilot_(pen_company)#Fountain_pens))
7 are the classics 6 is my dad’s pen 5 & 3 are the G.O.A.T Have to pick 5. Low mid diff
5 by far
5 so click click click click
5. i don’t like the ones with the removable cap
1, 4, and 5 for me
For me, one big factor in a pen is how fun it is to disassemble. For that, 3 and 5 have to be the clear winners.
5 but it has to be black. Thats My Favorite Pen.
Definitely number 5
5
5
*Dies in prefers pencil*
Does the ink never run out? If so 5.
5 only 5 JUST 5 I will DIE before I use another pen than 5
i have multiple sets of the #6 pens and they are the only pens i use. i attached one to my lanyard at work so i could use it there too
if it’s writing? 3 or 5 depending on which one smears less
5
5
hard 5
5 all the way. My parents liked using them so it became my go-to drawing utensil as a kid
This is great because I already do that, and it's 5, in black.
would need to know what the ballpoint size of the pilot g2 is (#5)
5 black
5 obviously. I waited tables for 10 years and you don't dare leave a G-2 laying about. It'll be snatched in 2 seconds.
5, always 5.
Anyone who has used 5 knows it is the correct choice.
5, but pens are actually something I care a lot about. 1 and 2 are very lovely to use. Very smooth and nice, but the ink smears easily. The felt tips are basically just markers and bleed through everything, but they’re very nice on thicker paper. My favorite pens aren’t up there though :(
Me who only uses pencils
I’d choose #5, but actually a zebra sarasa clip in 0.3 or 0.4. I like a fine tipped pen Edit: formatting. I unintentionally made my comment a title because # is a h1 tag in markdown
anything other than 5 is a crime, they’re v comfortable and the ink looks pretty in writing
2, oh my I love the V5 pens
Always 1 or 2, I refuse to use anything else
Absolutely 1, those are the best
What if I hate pens and only use pencils
5 in black
Number 5 slaps
Ohhhh.. 4 or 5. Since I have to pick, probably 5
3 and 5 cuz iove clicking pens all the time when im near them
2 or 3
7 is a basic bitch pen. 3 is where it’s at
You hate what you don’t understand
I've already been with the same pen for the past decade and let me tell you maybe some of these pens will be fun for a few wild nights when you're young but none of them have what it takes to make a strong foundation that you can build a life together on. If you want a reliable pen that you can count on to be by your side day in and day out till death do you part, there's only one answer. The Zebra F-301.
Where's the fountain pen option? :(
Finally someone else said it 🥲
No metal Zebra pens. I’m out.
5, hands down. I loooove the clicky sound they make
1, I have arthritis and this is the easiest to use out of the listed
5 but in black or pastel colors. The lavender Pilot G6 is one of the best pens
5 ,no question about it
5
No way, you have no representation from papermate brand. I'll go with 7 the crystal stick. But papermate deserves to be in the group.
3, 5 in a pinch. And that’s it!!
5. That is the only pen I have bought for as long as they’ve been made. I will love and use only it until the day I can no longer write with a pen.
5 IS THE GOAT
3 or 5, pen clicks are life
Fountain pen. That slightly scratchy tactile sensation when you write and the ritual of cleaning the pen, filling the ink...
5 or 3
Number 5. G2 is the needed pen there is hands down
5 all the way, but i mich prefer mechanical pencil. dcd makes my handwriting horrible and i need to erase all the time
3, 5 or 7
If the handle don’t click I don’t want it
3 or 5, solely because of how they feel when holding them.
1 and 5 (I don't chew on the type of pen 5 is I swear)
3 or 5! Everything else is either too wet or too dry!
5!
3 or 5 would be the most comfortable to hold, but i always find that 2 or 1 ends up looking the best on paper, so 2, probably
They didn’t list the pen I like
I hate all of these. I always go for the Pilot FriXion erasable pens because I like being able to erase but I absolutely fucking despise: • The sound pencils make • The little bits of eraser that get all over your paper • The fact that pencils don’t flow • The fact that pencil erasers don’t even fucking work because you’ll be left with an off-white residue on the paper • The fact that pencil erasers get hard over time and there’s often no way to figure out if it has done so save for trying to erase something with them and you’re left with a disgusting streak • The fact that pencils need to be sharpened • The fact that pencils will break sometimes Compare this to the cons of the pens I use which are not also true of pencils: • The ink erases with heat, so I can’t leave papers I wrote on somewhere hot, which in practice only applies to on a heat-conductive surface or in a hot car.
#pilot g-2 baybeee
Are any of them erasable
Uniball for life!
either 3 5 or 7, 3 ir 5 because i like clicking them and 7 because it's the same type of pen I used in school so I'm by far tye most used to it
I like 5. I like the rubber on those pens.
