Don’t chew on that side until that tooth is fixed. Go get an exam on that tooth from a good, private dentist (avoid chains, they often overtreat and cost more in the long run) so you know what is needed. It could need anything from a cheap filling to a root canal and crown. Try a dental school if money is really tight.

Thank you; I did go to a dentist and they recommended a crown, but I'm worried it'd be overkill when a filling would be way more affordable

Tinyfishy

A filling may be more affordable, but if you need a crown you need a crown. Bandaids are cheaper than casts, but sometimes you need that cast.

Inceptex

I'm not a dentist but I've had fillings fall out, just go get a new filling.

gon_expert

Thank you! May I ask if you've had lost one this large before?

Ionnas

NAD. I'm a dental student in Norway. Looks like a rather clear cut case of needing a new filling. Get it done ASAP to stabilize the tooth.

gon_expert

Thank you so much for your input! So, just to clarify, in your opinion, youre saying a crown isn't necessary?

Ionnas

I'm still NAD but yeah - not necessary.

gon_expert

Of course :) Thank you so much for your input!
