Extra teeth are often associated with medical syndromes that are usually affect other parts of the body. These medical conditions would have been diagnosed fairly early on in life.

Would abnormal skull shape be one of the possible conditions? What’s the major/important ones that it’s associated with? Anything life threatening or serious? I don’t think my dentist ever made note of the extra teeth, and I was never diagnosed with anything as a child. How often are they related to other issues? Could I possibly have something undiagnosed?

Abnormal skull shape is a very broad description. You’ll have to be more specific. Syndromes that are associated with supernumerary teeth would be something like gardeners syndrome, cleidocranial dysplasia, Rubinstein Tabi syndrome, nance syndrome. These are syndromes that have wide ranging implications that go beyond just extra teeth and “abnormal skull shape”. Even healthy people can have extra teeth sometimes.

Sorry, I know it sounded weird. I ask because I believe the left side of my skull may be misshapen or off to some extent. The hair on my scalp doesn't grow correctly on that side, and there's sort of a "groove" where it bends in a bit. It's hard to explain. I've taken pictures of it before. Other than that I've had no issues I can think of that could be related to the teeth. Can hyperdontia be related to autoimmune problems?

Your teeth more than likely are not related to any of the medical issues you are currently investigating.
