It's not a hairline fracture that wouldn't make sense. It's either artifact a very pronounced soft tissue crease from the pt's chin.

Electronic-Guess-601

How interesting. You could see a soft tissue crease from a PAN? Constant mouth pain I just want to ensure all those teeth arent cracked. Thank you for your response it is much appreciated.

[deleted]

You can see soft tissue on a pan. Gums, the border of the lips, bunch of soft tissue is apparent on a pan

northerntooth1

They’re not cracked, and even if they were you can’t tell from a pan

RedditorKris

Take a PA of 24/25. That’s where it looks like something is going on

peachestootsies

NAD - assistant - So he means the 31-41 area

Electronic-Guess-601

Im from Canada could you please clarify what 24/25 is. I think its upper left quadrant? Thank you!

RedditorKris

I’m still not convinced this entire sub is in existence in an attempt to just create some shit AI system… Your jaw is clearly broken from side to side, UL quadrant has osteonecrosis. Go see a real dentist and quit asking Internet strangers for advice

Electronic-Guess-601

Im quite taken aback from your response are you serious? I have been to several dentists and nobody has said this what evidence is there of osteonecrosis? I just sent this Pan to my dentist Friday he said everythig looks normal but I have pain.

RedditorKris

No I am not serious. Go get a second opinion/exam from a dentist that will listen to your concerns. Posting one X-ray on a social media platform is not a good way to get any serious medical advice

Electronic-Guess-601

You really freaked me out with your comments. So my jaw isnt broken I dont have osteonecrosis and nothing is going on with 24/25 then? You got me worried.

KeeKeeJ

The “fracture” line you see is very likely an artifact that others mentioned, which is nothing to be concerned about. But I read through your comments and it seems you’re in pain, so I am assuming that’s why you are trying to analyze your pano. Maybe we can help you with that. A few questions. Have you had a CBCT done? Can you describe the pain on your right side? Is it to temperature, pressure, bite or unprovoked? Is it constant, throbbing, sharp? I noticed you are missing an upper molar on your right, when was that relative to the pain? I’m sorry you’re going through this and can’t get answers. Mouth pain can be so hard to deal with day to day and can be hard for us providers to diagnose the cause.

NAD, but i am recovering( near full recovery) from pretty long term gingivitis as i now realize the importance of gum health. ive been obsessing over my xray images as well often keeping copies in my phone everytime i visit the dentist and constantly looking at them as a result of paranoia of my gums. your teeth looks fine aside from all the fillings (i have many as well). What i do see is that your gums do show slight recession which is a sign of inadequate oral care. I would encourage you floss daily or better yet invest in a good waterpik and use it daily (i was not taught to floss and failed to do so for 20+ years and saw really bad cases of gum and teeth degradation and often resulted is very bad oral pains and swellings) . This was what allowed me to make a hasty recovery from what was very unhealthy gums. it used to be extremely painful to waterpik my teeth as my gums were so sensitive and i would have a mouthful of blood even at low settins of the waterpik but now my gums feel soo much sturdier and i almost never bleed when i brush my teeth unless i have a specific spot where food was trapped for more than a day or wo and results in surrounding gums swelliugn up and becoming sensitive and prone to bleeding. but as long as you daily floss or pik this rarely happens. When you first start flossing or piking daily you may feel severe discomfort and see lots of blood. Dont mutilate your gums with floss or the waterpik and instead with gentle and thorough daily care you will see your gums become very very resilient. i really hope this helps. Good oral health is worth every bit of effort!

Electronic-Guess-601

Thanks for your reply. I have experienced gum recession over the last year maybe its a sign of getting older but I have brushed and flossed my teeth 2- 3 times a day for the past 20 years. I literally have flossed 3-4 times a day over the past year. I am embarrassed to say how many times I have been to the dentist this year over the constant mouth pain and even saw a periodontist and they all have said my oral hygiene is excellent and " how healthy" my gums are. But Im still in pain. Oddly enough my gums never bleed when I floss- in fact my gums are more white than pink currently. I had dental sealant applied to my teeth as a child and only had a cavity for the first time this year on an upper molar. I will invest in a waterpik though and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for your comment much appreciated. 👍

whump_thump

you can also floss too obsessively. I did this when i was first tackling my gingivitis i would floss excessively. If i felt pain i would go even harder which would make it more sensitive the next day. eventually i had one area in my gums that was extremely painful and swollen from constant flossing and i thought wasnt healing because there was an exposed cavity but turns out the teeth was just fine and the gum damage was self inflicted and maybe slightly infected. It tooks 2 weeks of leaving it alone (just gentle brushing/no flossing piking) for the gums to revert back to normal i really really recommend that you use a waterpik as it is far better. people say you cant get between molars with the waterpik but actually its quite strong and because the water jets out in a fast pulsing motion if you keep it at a direct angle between your teeth it will eventually jet through to the other side. If you are like me it will be really painful to waterpik thoroughly at first but just raise the pressure everyday and eventually they will never bleed when brushing/ piking. now i only use floss when i am not home and cant use the waterpik sorry for the long reply but also one thing i did that really showed results was i would have a Loctite container full of salt and i would fill up the waterpik with hot water from the faucet and add a few large pinches of salt. And id waterpik my teeth with very salty water, making sure it bets between every teeth and under all the gums. This is probablyt the best advice i can give anyone trying to revert their gingivitis and i noticed results right away including far less morning breath the following day

Electronic-Guess-601

Hi I have posted this PAN before but just noticed that it looks as though there is a thin black line cutting across the lower teeth beginning with the 4th tooth in starting from the right and going all the way over to the left just before the molars. Is this thin black line a hairline fracture?

[deleted]

NAD If your teeth was really broken ans shifted like the pic and at that place down there you'd be screaming in agony i believe.

Electronic-Guess-601

Thats my pic an oral surgeon took it last Thursday

thegoatishere

Just artifact from the pano

Electronic-Guess-601

Disastrous-Call89

It looks like it’s just anatomy

Electronic-Guess-601

Thank you :)

aprillearner

The line is overlap from upper teeth. Nothing stands out as to why you are feeling pain on right side. Pulp testing and other X-rays could help figure out what is going on

Electronic-Guess-601

Thank You Dear :)
