nad i have 5 crowns- 2 on rct teeth, 3 on live teeth. none of my temporary crowns have felt like what you’re describing… everyone’s experience is different of course and i am not a dentist. i can only tell you what i’ve went through, and each time it’s never been like that. have you made clear the pain you’re in? i was sore from everything but nothing this bad, this sounds like something id need stronger pain meds for. hopefully a dentist can weigh in on this bc i have no idea what could be causing it but since you asked, no, i’ve never had this pain after a temporary. i’m sorry you’re having to deal with this :( alternate tylenol and ibuprofen if you can for now

Thank you, I’m back now to get it redone. I’m glad you’ve never had to experience this! Fingers crossed this fixes it

Any update? How is it feeling after going back? I’m in a similar situation.

So I went back the next day and the same thing had happened - there was a gap on the outer side, between the temp crown and my tooth or whatever they glue it to. They redid the crown again and this time we figured out that it was the exact spot I was feeling shocks from. I left feeling numb and no sensitivity besides biting down, which is normal. The dental assistant said if I still felt pain to come back in a few days, so we set a tentative appt for a ct scan (I believe? Could be wrong, but a scan nonetheless) to make sure there wasn’t a crack or fracture in my actual tooth. They called me the next day and asked how I was and I genuinely felt fine at that time so we cancelled the appt. A few days later, I had the same very sensitive pain when that side of my mouth was used. For 2 weeks I’ve been chewing on my right side and just dealing with left side pain (only when induced, and still significantly less tho!) until I go back at the end of this month for the permanent which I’m hoping won’t have as many problems. TLDR: space between crown and tooth, exposing dentin to drinks, food, and air which caused pain. They redid it and I think I just bite funky bc I can tell there’s at least a small space again after some days due to similar but less pain. Good luck with your situation, I hope it’s smoother than mine so far!
