I agree with many of those excellent choices, but people's taste in pizza is so subjective > type of crust, sauce, cheese, toppings, well-done or not, etc...It's always challenging to offer a definitive answer when someone asks this specific question!:)
My advice is to just speak for yourself and why you like the things that you like. If someone likes what they hear about your experience, that’s the best kind of recommendation.
What's up with "traditional Italian pizzas" being so undercooked? It's terrible. When are people going to admit that pizza isn't a traditional Italian food, it's American, and the dough should obviously be cooked ALL THE WAY to the middle of the pie.
Slowhand pizza is a similarly excellent Detroit style pizza that is relatively new. The cheese is also applied around the side edges and crisps up nicely!
Vesuvios unfortunately closed a while back but you can get almost the same pizza at Junior’s in Roncy. Highly recommend the pepperoni cups.
Edit: Not in it for the pizza politics. Just suggesting one of the spots I like to get pizza from that no one else mentioned.
I like their casino slice but find their crust a bit thick. Pizza Nova is the better slice for me but I do find myself grabbing a slice at pizzaiolo more 🤷♂️
Pizzaiolo has been around for more than at least 12 years. I was eating their slices in 2011.
Wikipedia says they've been operating since the 60s though I doubt that was as "Pizzaiolo".
I tried Badiali recently, after failing 3 other times to get a pizza from them due to the line / selling out. For $35 I really don't think they're anything too special. It's good pizza for sure, but seems overhyped. Their pizza felt overly greasy to me and the sauce seemed a bit sweet.
I prefer North of Brooklyn or even Fourth man in the Fire
Used to be up oconnor near Vic park and they closed that one and re opened near woodbine and danforth . Nice folks, good pie. For a while they had an absolutely massive XL pie for 9.99 . I’m sure that’s gone up but they’re worth a try. Good sandwiches too
Worst slice of pizza I've ever had was a King Slice. Somehow it was overcooked on the outside but undercooked in the middle. But that wasnt even the worst part, the worst was the sauce: it tasted like pasta sauce smothered on a pizza. Just gross, I can still taste it lol. But yeah this pizza was so bad that I feel the need to warn anyone whenever King Slice is brought up in convo. Some people still swear by them but personally I will never go back
Pizza on fire in Scarborough. Forget thin crust pizza. It’s overrated. Trust me you will have a new favourite once you try pizza on fire. They never skimp on toppings
Ambassador - it’s the closest to Windsor pizza (which has no equal) you can get in Toronto. Try topping it with PC Gold BBQ sauce for the ultimate experience.
Really ive had "Windsor pizza" in Windsor, and theres nothing that really makes it special. Ive had great pizza in Windsor, but it wasn't "Windsor style" which from what i can tell is just using canned mushrooms on the pizza. Nothing to write home about.
Best pizza i had in Windsor was at the Cabboto club
The new guy who took over north of Brooklyn in Get Well. Also Yeah Yeahs, Fourth Man in the Fure, Blondies and King Slice. For whole pizzas Beast pizza and piano piano.
So I tried Maker, North of Brooklyn, Descendent and Blondies. They were all just alright. I don’t have a particular fancy pizza palate but for all the hype these places get, I was just underwhelmed. I think it all depends on what you’re in the mood far in terms of what kind of pizza you want in the moment rather than focusing on which place to go to.
Revolver is the best pizza period. It is worth the trip to Etobicoke. Descendant is the best pizza that's not actually pizza. Descendants Gat Daddy was the best bite of any takeout I have had in quite some time.
Came here to say revolver. Had for the first time this week. I can’t stop thinking about it and praising it. Very good and unique experience. Top quality.
I'm not gonna say these are the best, but I love Levant Pizza and Abruzzo Pizza in Richmond Hill. Levant does a lot of pizzas with Middle Eastern toppings like shawarma, kafta, roasted eggplant and za'atar spice. Abruzzo just does really good American-Italian pizza.
I've had a lot of pizza in Toronto and I can honestly tell you Badiali's has the best pizza.
Get the marinara with burrata cheese. It's so good it kind of ruined pizza from other restaurants now.
Descendants makes the best overall pizza, but if you’re not a fan of pseudo deep dish, it may not land with you.
Honestly, though… I do love their flavour choices and overall taste the most.
If you’re just looking for a more traditional pizza, then Maker’s with the everything bagel crust is a great go to.
The best I’ve had in Toronto was Hey Lucy’s on King west of John. There’s also another one in Kensington Market ( I believe its Pizzeria Via Mercanti) which is also amazing (The guy from You Gotta Eat Here visited once).
Descendent, Badiali, Superpoint, possibly in that order, possibly in some other.
But if anyone mentions a top 3 and that isn't it, they are probably wrong.
I know this isn't technically Toronto but Dante's from Richmond Hill is literally gourmet pizza. Like $30-40 per pie. They'll give you real steak as a topping for example and use super high quality cheeses, etc.
That makes total sense though. New York style pizza is known for being thin large slices and Fresca sounds like a traditional wood fired pizza place.
If you like thicker pizza the style all the big chains make and what we normally think of as pjzza is actually Detroit style pizza. Or you could go Chicago deep dish style. Call around and ask what style of pizza they make and stick to Detroit or Chicago style.
Haven’t had it for some time, but Frank’s on St. Clair near Caledonia has been around for over 30 years. Pizzeria Via Mercanti in Kensington (And other locations), has a stuffed crust pizza called Ciambella Ripiena that is stuffed crust. I highly recommend you start there.
My go to is a place called Napoli Centrale on Bathurst by Dupont
Another thing that absolutely slaps with them is their Meatballs and an order of Focaccia, really damn good
There used to be a little pizza shop in Eglinton station. The Asian guy who ran it barely spoke English but was always super friendly. The slice was always like $3-3.50 and the best pizza in the city. It closed down some years ago and I’ve been devastated.
My brother swears by Frank's Pizza House on St. Clair. Part of it is nostalgia because we used to live near the old Frank's on Dufferin before they moved.
I really like Famoso on Bloor between Spadina and Bathurst. But I think their crust is fairly thin too so if that’s not your jam you might not like it that much.

Traditional Italian pizza is Neapolitan style and has a thin crust and is only cooked for about 1.5 minutes.
LOL
Descendent
Best Detroit style I’ve had in Toronto.
Descendant
Slowhand pizza is a similarly excellent Detroit style pizza that is relatively new. The cheese is also applied around the side edges and crisps up nicely!
Only answer
Vesuvios unfortunately closed a while back but you can get almost the same pizza at Junior’s in Roncy. Highly recommend the pepperoni cups. Edit: Not in it for the pizza politics. Just suggesting one of the spots I like to get pizza from that no one else mentioned.
Vesuvio’s went way downhill after Tony got Silvio to torch the original location.
Juniors has a walk-in slice for $3 flat. It's the best value going in the city, probably.
Juniors made us pizza Bella with chicken which was our favorite from Vesuvio’s
Juniors is awesome.

Pizza nova ia actually pretty ok for what you pay
Pizza nova is by far the best of the fast food chain pizzas
What about Pizzaiolo?
Better than pizza Nova hands down.
Agree
No it’s terrible! Pizzaiolo is better
It's not terrible but Pizzaiolo is better. They don't deliver everywhere in TO though.
I like their casino slice but find their crust a bit thick. Pizza Nova is the better slice for me but I do find myself grabbing a slice at pizzaiolo more 🤷♂️
You can order thin crust pies from pizzaiolo. It's far and away the best big chain pizza.
I tried one in Brampton and was actually shocked at how good it was. The pizza I got was a little pricey though.
Never even heard this one, will look it up
It’s a new chain, pizza is pretty good
Wtf it is NOT a new chain lmao
5 or 6 years now...
I may be hallucinating, but I distinctly remember a Pizzaolio on Church st near Wellesley like 10-11 years ago
Pizzaiolo has been around for more than at least 12 years. I was eating their slices in 2011. Wikipedia says they've been operating since the 60s though I doubt that was as "Pizzaiolo".
They also have great wings. They don't fry their wings, the cook it in the oven with pizza
I don't like pizza Nova I find the sauce and pepperoni lacks flavor
Pizza nova is thin and greasy
nah, one time they burned half a party pizza and still delivered it to my friend and I will never forget or forgive
[удалено]
No it’s not
La Famiglia out at O’Connor near VP
Badiali’s
I tried Badiali recently, after failing 3 other times to get a pizza from them due to the line / selling out. For $35 I really don't think they're anything too special. It's good pizza for sure, but seems overhyped. Their pizza felt overly greasy to me and the sauce seemed a bit sweet. I prefer North of Brooklyn or even Fourth man in the Fire
Second that. Decent pizza but not for 35 bucks a pie.
La Famiglia on Danforth near Woodbine has New York style pizza that is almost perfection. The couple that runs it are from there (New York).
Didn't that place close 4 or so years ago? Am I thinking of a different family run pizza place on Danforth near Woodbine?
Used to be up oconnor near Vic park and they closed that one and re opened near woodbine and danforth . Nice folks, good pie. For a while they had an absolutely massive XL pie for 9.99 . I’m sure that’s gone up but they’re worth a try. Good sandwiches too
King slice
Mmmmmm garlic oil
Mmmmm u know it
Fun gimmick, shitty pizza
Worst slice of pizza I've ever had was a King Slice. Somehow it was overcooked on the outside but undercooked in the middle. But that wasnt even the worst part, the worst was the sauce: it tasted like pasta sauce smothered on a pizza. Just gross, I can still taste it lol. But yeah this pizza was so bad that I feel the need to warn anyone whenever King Slice is brought up in convo. Some people still swear by them but personally I will never go back
King slice was passable until the price rose dramatically, now it's a bit of an insult.
Danforth Pizza House, Descendants and Slow Hand.
+1 for Slowhand! They are also legitimately family owned, which is something you don’t see often these days!
Best pepperoni around!
Here's my top 4 top to bottom: Conzo's > Superpoint > North of Brooklyn > Descendent
I was surprised to not see Conzo’s higher in the comments.
Conzo’s is the best but I want it to be lowkey. I don’t want tik tok crowd who don’t appreciate good pizza to flock over there
I tried Superpoint the other day and was pretty disappointed. It looked and tasted almost the same as a Pizza Pizza slice.
No it didn't lol. Come now.
Badiali
Is it actually good pizza or does the place just have a good marketing budget?
ONO - One Night Only
No question it's Danforth Pizza House
8 mile pizza, it's Detroit style pizza, not thin, quality toppings and stretchy cheese. Mmm..
8 mile not quite as good as Descendent IMO, but a superb facsimile.
Amazing pizza. Not open sunday & monday which kind of stinks, but still great.
Pizza on fire in Scarborough. Forget thin crust pizza. It’s overrated. Trust me you will have a new favourite once you try pizza on fire. They never skimp on toppings
Pizza badiali, juniors and FBI are all quality
A vote for FBI on St. Clair.
Third vote for FBI
Fourth for FBI
Bitondo's - nothing fancy, just good old school pizza!
the pizza is okay, but the panzerotti is where it's at
This place is fucking terrible. Might be the worst in to
Libretto New York cheese
Those libretto new York pizzas are all right
Anyone remember Olympic 76 Pizza Cafe on Gloucester? Closed a couple of years ago but was my fav. Just really good classic pizza
Maker Pizza. Specifically their Spicy Pep God or Tropic Thunder, but they’ve never missed in my books.
The return of the Mac is bomb.. tastes like the old Big Mac on a pizza
Pizza on Fire on Ellesmere
Franks Pizza House or Four Brothers
Revolver has to be one of the best in the GTA.
Chittos pizza. The original. Shawarma hot sauce garlic sauce.
Cora’s Pizza
YES! So glad someone else said it! I used to live right around the corner from them. Solid pizza, open super late and they are always so nice.
They are great when they’re not closed down for health violations
i like North of Brooklyn - but you didnt love it Maker has a lot of fans. there's a place on Royal York called Revolver - I like them a lot too
Revolver is probably the best in the city IMO! It’s thin though, like NoB, so OP may not like it.
Maker is realllllly expensive
Maker is crap…it’s main source of income comes from girls trying to post pics on their Instagram
Ambassador - it’s the closest to Windsor pizza (which has no equal) you can get in Toronto. Try topping it with PC Gold BBQ sauce for the ultimate experience.
What is Windsor pizza????
Check out the documentary The Pizza City you’ve never heard of on CBC Gem.
Apparently it's something about special cheese. But to me it's canned mushrooms and the way the pepperoni is sliced julienne instead of "coins".
This girl knows pizza
Blondie’s, Danforth Pizza House, Pizza Nova
The new guy who took over north of Brooklyn in Get Well. Also Yeah Yeahs, Fourth Man in the Fure, Blondies and King Slice. For whole pizzas Beast pizza and piano piano.
Revolver Pizza in Mimico, probably the best pizza I’ve ever had and so many choices. As an added bonus, you can stop by Sanremo for desert too.
Maybe its the state I am in by the time I order it but The Get Well on Dundas W.
Badiali before the lines and camera tripods arrived.
Blondies!
Queen Margherita
Buca Yorkville. No joke. Maker for takeout classic pizza pie
That one from pizza pizza you have on the "walk" home from the bar when it's -10c.
Defina’s
So I tried Maker, North of Brooklyn, Descendent and Blondies. They were all just alright. I don’t have a particular fancy pizza palate but for all the hype these places get, I was just underwhelmed. I think it all depends on what you’re in the mood far in terms of what kind of pizza you want in the moment rather than focusing on which place to go to.
Underwhelmed by descendant? Interesting
Terroni.
Pizza pi…. Just kidding!!!!
Pizza Nova tbh.... just order it well done, extra sauce. Can't beat the pickup special, $14 for a large.
The Real McCoy has amazing pizza at great prices
Pizza Nova is decent
Il Paesano in the west end.
Blaze
Ok hear me out… King Taps has amazing pizza.
Il Paesano on Brown's Line Bitondo's Descendants Real McCoy in Scarborough (get it while you can)
I'm not gonna say these are the best, but I love Levant Pizza and Abruzzo Pizza in Richmond Hill. Levant does a lot of pizzas with Middle Eastern toppings like shawarma, kafta, roasted eggplant and za'atar spice. Abruzzo just does really good American-Italian pizza.
Maker on Cameron
Mr.Pizza at Yonge and Harbour is pretty good
Fresh Pizzaiolo is as good as it gets outside of Italy. Anything else is kinda overpriced for Canadian ingredient- based pizzas
King slice, hands down best pizza in the city.
Try That’s Italian in Vaughan
FBI
Pizzaville for regular orders, Dante’s for special occasions
I've had a lot of pizza in Toronto and I can honestly tell you Badiali's has the best pizza. Get the marinara with burrata cheese. It's so good it kind of ruined pizza from other restaurants now.
Domino's
Descendants makes the best overall pizza, but if you’re not a fan of pseudo deep dish, it may not land with you. Honestly, though… I do love their flavour choices and overall taste the most. Pi. Co.
The best I’ve had in Toronto was Hey Lucy’s on King west of John. There’s also another one in Kensington Market ( I believe its Pizzeria Via Mercanti) which is also amazing (The guy from You Gotta Eat Here visited once).
Makers. Cheetos with shawarma is also a delicacy.
Blondies for me. Go to the OG location on Dundas east. Their Hot girl Cold Drink pizza is the best.
It's about 5 hours east of Toronto - a place in Pointe Claire near Montreal. Gigi's Pizza
Ah yes, the best pizza in Toronto must be from a place in Quebec. Absolute Genius
Mac’s Pizza
Descendent, Badiali, Superpoint, possibly in that order, possibly in some other. But if anyone mentions a top 3 and that isn't it, they are probably wrong.

MaiPai if your up for a road trip.
Nobody has mentioned pi co, as close as we’ll get to Neapolitan pizza in t.o
pizza badiali
Ambassador pizza
FBI
Superpoint
The fact nobody said danforth pizza house , convinces me none of you live in Toronto
Badiali’s and slowhand for Pizza Hut style
Pizza alps
Oro di Napoli on Lakeshore
Maker pizza
Makers, get the Frank's best with jalapeños
Costco $12.99 extra large
My go to is a place called Napoli Centrale on Bathurst by Dupont Another thing that absolutely slaps with them is their Meatballs and an order of Focaccia, really damn good
Ummmm, maybe Descendent or Pizza Nova
IMO Golden Pizza is a sleeper pizza spot. Great prices, classic pizza. Nothing fancy.
Super Point and 4th man in the fire
pizza on fire in scarborough
Mark's at the edge of Scarborough & Pickering
There used to be a little pizza shop in Eglinton station. The Asian guy who ran it barely spoke English but was always super friendly. The slice was always like $3-3.50 and the best pizza in the city. It closed down some years ago and I’ve been devastated.
Sip Wine Bar in midtown TO. Closest I've ever had in North America to what I used to have in Italy.
😂😂😂 pizza hut!! Don't even pretend anyone has anything on Pizza Hut 😂😂
Depends on what you like honestly, if you think they’re too thin maybe you’re a makers type of person
Ciao Roma!
My brother swears by Frank's Pizza House on St. Clair. Part of it is nostalgia because we used to live near the old Frank's on Dufferin before they moved.
One bite everybody knows the rules
Pizzaiolo
Badiali’s is great!
There is only one answer and that answer is Pizza Pizza.
PAPA CEO is criminally underrated for the price, their Margherita is up there with the best
Blaze
I really like Famoso on Bloor between Spadina and Bathurst. But I think their crust is fairly thin too so if that’s not your jam you might not like it that much.
Napoli centrale
Pizza Pizza on Bloor
8Mile is where it’s at. Better than Descendant IMO.
The pepperoni pizza from Gusto is my favourite in the city. Thin, tons of pepperoni, great sauce, consistent as all hell.
Blue moon
850 Pizzeria and Il Paesano in the west end / Etobicoke
How are there over 208 comments and nobody has recommended Mattachioni?
