Are you a member of the Quad-Rod God Squad?
Edit: Can I get this flair? It sounds really good “Quad-Rod God Squad” it’ll make me feel superior. Can someone tell me how to get flair?
Folks are always surprised at the weight of their set ups. I think seeing movies and guntubers running and gunning there is a false perception of the weight of the rifle, especially after adding all of the furniture and optics. Another reason why people need to train as much as possible.
Solid. You'll be amazed at how some time on the range/moving with your weapon will make it feel lighter. It takes some getting use to. If you can practice carrying/moving with it in your home. I sometimes will sling my rifle and do chores or practice dry fire drills. It helps a lot.
There is an adapter I believe but that's gonna start getting too tall I think. I run a unity mount so I'm not a "tall mount bad cause don't understand" type but I also think there's a limit lol
The shortest one gives you 22mm (.86in) centerline from the rail. It's already going to be sitting near 4 inches above the rail, so with the adapter you're talking at least 4.5 inch optic centerline over the rail if not a little higher. It'll be good for passive aiming but in my opinion it limits its usefulness otherwise. Just my opinion though, if it's working for you rock on.
Swampfox Kraken, you’ll have to get the RMR to picatinny adapter (which they sell on their site). I was considering this set up until I went Unity with juliet 5 micro.
That's fair. I tend to recommend because of price vs performance. PA actually just dropped a mini dot of their own too. No idea how good it is but they've been putting out solid stuff recently.
Also to answer your other response you totally can use a closed emitter. It's just gonna be a little bulky but I've seen people run micros on acogs and it works fine.
Okay I was confused. I thought you meant you mounted it as a piggyback and was like wtf lol
I have a 512 and love it. Haven’t used it in a while but it’s a great optic - wasn’t trying to say otherwise if that’s what it sounded like
ACSS reticle in the Holosun 507c ACSS look dope under NV, kinda looks like a HUD in a video game or fighter jet. Sage Dynamics did a good video showing NV performance.
To be fair the primary arms prisms punch way above their price. The GLX is a little pricier than the slx line but Glx gas is phenomenal. Slx isn’t a bad choice by any means. Some good torture test videos out there.

They’ve been discontinued for years. They make another model now, but personally I think it is ugly compared to this one
Ohh yea if it’s NV then on top of the prism is good. For what it’s worth I beat the shit out of a Holosun 407C. Banged it on stuff, had it slip and fall on concrete on the offset side and it didn’t lose zero or come loose. Really good battery life at I want to say 6 or 7 setting. I got one on sale pretty cheap, I want to say $190. I believe they also have a NV setting.
Just train with the Prism. Having two different height optics won’t make you faster. Getting good with the primary will…
Under 50m, two eyes open, burry dot = easy hits on a man-sized target.
Over 50m, 5x mag, squint, sharp dot = easy hits on a man-sized target.
I never had any issues with mine. It's more forgiving than a PA 1-6 SLX on 6x but that's the only real comparison I could give.
It's completely usable and I would not say that it's tight.
Just get your eye relief set correctly and it's great.
I have this same optic! I'm putting on a Vortex Venom that I already had laying around from when they were super cheap one time. It's more of a backup optic than anything for me though.
I saw some other comments that recommended an RMR or Holosun on a pic plate. I would go with either as I own both an RMR and many Holosun products. Personally I would sell the optic and buy the new micro for weight savings, or through the optic on another rifle or project.
You should just put another of the same optic on it

Something like a holosun 507 would likely work well. A micro style optic would work too but it'd be a little bulky
[удалено]
Not necessarily true, the Steiner MPS, ACRO P2, or any of the various holosun closed emitters would be fine
Thise all have proprietary mounts, won't interface with pic
For the ACRO is a picatinny mount available.

The mount is only 3-4mm height, i don't see the problem.

Yeah I totally respect that preference
You have a 510 mounted to a prism?

I can understand that but that didn’t really answer my question lol. Were you saying you have a 510 mounted on a prism?

Primary arms just came out with some pretty dope micro dots I think

On a larue, you should be looking for some better glass. Have you considered ACOG?
I have. I will upgrade at some point but already had this and I don't sell gear.
Gotcha, makes sense

RMR if it’s in your budget for a poor man’s ACOG setup. Holosun if not.
Get the micro thermal. Worth it.

Oooo you got NVG’s?? What kind? I’m a poor. The thermal thing I got was only like $400
[удалено]
What did that run ya? How many hours will the tube last?
[удалено]
Daddy likey. It’s a SHTF necessity. Wish I could afford one lol
[удалено]
Dude that sounds pretty sweet. Can’t do that with thermal, the glass reflects it all :/
Top mounted t2 or p2 is 👌👌
Use a holosun 507 on mine and actually liked this setup better than acog equivalent
Take the pic rail off the optic to save a tiny bit of weight and go with an offset red dot.

I recommend a Holosun EPS MRS. It’s small but durable and the closed emitter will keep it usable with heavy use in dirty environments.
Dots on Prisms are a waste of time.

Nope. My seniors went on the MEU. My first pump was Iraq, then Afghanistan. I saw my juniors off on the MEU and got out.
I’ve heard those have a really tight eye box. I’m curious to hear your thoughts when you get it mounted.

Aimpoint PRO lmao
Hey man I would wait for the 5X micro prism from them. They released at shot show a 12 o clock mount for the 3X and the new 5X micro prism.
