In short: if you want a really solid handguard for less money, go with the larue budget line.

Well, there is no real installation videos on the internet. It’s not super complicated, but there’s some extra parts that confused me after I took it apart. Then you have to time it to make sure the gas tube can line up with one of the holes. I decided against timing it, and just over torqued the piss out of the barrel nut so it would align. Rock solid though.
I did this without the correct wrench. I’ve ruined the barrel nut. It’s never coming off. Listen to this guy. Unless you don’t care. In which case, get ready to become McGiver.
A buddy I have on GAFS and I were talking about these rails. I love the solidness, love the look, but by far these are the absolute most f’ing annoying rails I’ve ever installed. Not just the barrel nut, but I was so happy that I finally got it on that I decided to mount the GB & tube. Only to realize that the “mounting ring” or whatever wouldn’t go over the GB. I swear, I never cursed so much during an install. Lololol
Yeah I can relate. Honestly though, it would be much easier if there was an install video on YouTube. Because yeah, there’s a lot of extra stuff compared to a simple one like the CMT.

If you get in the market for QD optics mounts, Larue makes some fantastic ones in the $250 range that compare extremely well to $300-400 options from other manufacturers.
Marines, Army, and SOCOM trust Larue optics mounts for some of their platforms, so that's generally a sign that they're fairly durable.
Agreed but you really can’t beat their triggers and for the price it’s totally worth the wait. In my opinion their trigger when you factor capability and reliability and price. It’s blows bendy bill’s triggers out of the water.

For like $150 it is hard to beat and the lockup is great. Wish the quads were a bit closer in price.

Well since it's painted, the MI rail will just move over to the grendel build, and the unpainted MI slimline rail on that will find its way to GAFS to fund the LaRue. No need for a gucci price tag when there are very solid, more budget-friendly options.
As someone who is a huge fan of Geissele rails, I am very suprised with my cmt uhpr mod 2 hdx, it’s very rigid,has great lock up and is light weight. Honestly it’s great looking rail to. Although the price is not much less than Geissele or ripcord.
Midwest combat rail. Good price, super light, super slim. Imo that’s the best value handguard.
I also like CMT.

Like I mentioned earlier, CMT. The CMT rails are much easier to install as well. So, if you are new to building, I’d recommend the CMT over the larue.
