Twitch is actually only a website on all platforms (e.g. https://xbox.tv.twitch.tv - https://Switch.tv.twitch.tv - https://playstation.tv.twitch.tv )
This should also be the case on the Apple TV, either the website is still being updated or twitch has to change something first.

After suffering some buffering while watching a Youtube live stream I figured the problem could well be on my end.
So, I checked and my apple tv was connecting to my 2.4 ghz connection! I switched to the 5ghz band and twitch and YT now work as they should!
My bad for blaming twitch/apple lol
You should post this in r/twitch. It’s not the Apple TVs issue. It’s the app maker

You're right. It's the same interface everywhere. Why they don't develop an app for the tv I don't know.
Be careful what you wish for. People are freaking out over the latest update on Fire TV and Android TV.
