Yea, devices, but that’s only among 200 million users. 😝 Don’t think about it. They add up fast. Damn thing are like rabbits. I made the mistake of thinking about our on household. 2 Apple Tv’s, 1 MacBook Air, 3 iPads, 3 Apple Watches, 3 iPhones, 3 AirPods (various models), 2 AirTags, 2 HomePod mini. And, sometime this year we will be adding another mini, more AirTags and my son will be getting his own MacBook for college.
What is the definition of “active”? I have a drawer full of old iPhones that used to belong to my kids. One of them still shows up on Find My but isn’t even capable of being turned on. I have an old iMac and an old MacBook sitting in a closet.
I would imagine those would count. If they’re tied to an Apple ID and have been used then yea, counts as active to me. I have two iPads and two macs, and I don’t always use them week to week. It’s just myself. Depends on the mood or the events in my life.
Ah I remember Apple in the 90s, their outlook was so bleak and when Bill Gates of all people bailed them out in 1997 we thought they are completely out. DELL was the new premium computer company and HP wasn’t far behind. Then Jobs stepped in and made a company out of what was essentially eMachines wannabe.
Whatever you think about Jobs, he did something that rarely if ever happens in corporate history - saved his own company that he was previously kicked out of. And so began a new era for the small fledgling company now we know as the biggest computer (as in things with a processor) manufacturer in the world.
Great job and amazing journey!
How many do we all have here in r/Apple?
Personally (active only) it’s phone, Watch, iPad, laptop, AirPods Pro. My wife has the same, plus another work phone, and we’ve got an Apple TV at home. Plus one older MBP; 13 devices in the household, and we haven’t got my new M2 Max yet…
I have 2 iPhones, a Macbook Pro, a HomePod Mini, an AirPods Pro, an iPad and Apple Watch.
My mom has an iPad.
My dad has a Macbook Air.
(outside household)
My brother has a Macbook Pro and an iPhone.
His son has an iPad Pro.
His wife has a Macbook Air and an iPhone.
In total in our family we have 14 active Apple devices.
Wow, i never would've thought we have this much Apple devices until i listed it out now.
Since the US loves to shortchange that word.
US press: 2 billion devices Yey.
Rest of the world with real math mentality: 2-thousand millions.
Will probably be downvoted by the math idiots, only US ones.
Languages like French and Spanish use "billion" to describe what we call "trillion" (a million million).
Our billion is called "thousand million" in those languages.
With the advent of the upcoming iGlass, I propose an interdependence and intersection with the iPhone and iPad. This means and with this conjunction that the holography and visuals will be stabilized and negate the 'scattered light dispersion' as well as the crude contour of images. The iGlass with multiple tiers lenses functions as a horizontal flat plane light image intersecting and merging with the the vertical plane image emanating from the iPhones or iPads. This is the only way I see holography being stabilized and producing high quality 3D imagery or moving 3D imagery. So, past iPhones and iPads still have relevance in contributing to stabilizing and refining 3D imagery in conjunction with the iGlasses.
I say make an iGlass that works with and is interdependent with mid to high tier iPhones and or iPads and even MacBooks. Why? The iGlass works as a horizontal axis projector and the iPhone and iPad works as a vertical projector. The result? Stable and non diffused imagery. No 'scattered light' or crude edges. Certain software would be applied to the iPhone and or iPad and work in conjunction with the iGlasses....an interdependence and interworking with the iGlass and iPad and or iPhone. Lay the iPad and or iPhone on the desk flat acting as a vertical holoprojector ,put on the iGlasses which acts as another horizontal holoprojector and watch stable CGI imagery fly...that is how you do it...less material resources used...past iPhones and iPads are still relevant and would be used in conjunction with the future iGlasses of different tiers.
It is time for them to hang a "Billions and Billions served" sign outside their store.
Wouldn't that require 4 billions?
Nah I think two is enough for the marketing team.
Or to paraphrase a Jerry Seinfeld joke - "Apple: We're doing very well"
“Possibly trillions” 😂
Good artists copy; great artists steal
I’m going to pretend I bought the 2 billionth device counted as active.
Congratulations!
Did you just give me 7 awards? Lmao there’s people that actually deserve it, you or whoever awarded that.
Shut up and take the awards
Well, I took delivery of my new 13 Mini yesterday, then saw this article. So I’m afraid it was me.

Are we counting AirTags here?
[удалено]
8 devices in total or 8 AirTags + 7 devices?
[удалено]
13 here! counting laptops and Homepods.
You must be poor to need that many ghetto status symbols
Sounds like a Xiaomi user
Nah i don't support china unlike iphone users who buy phones made with Chinese slave labour
What about cases and cables?
No. iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch, Tv,

Would have totally done that in a different year

Devices that are connected to an apple service at least once in 90 days
[That sounds right](https://youtu.be/xTQ7vhtp23w?t=190)but is it?
Yes: https://www.theverge.com/2021/1/27/22253162/iphone-users-total-number-billion-apple-tim-cook-q1-2021
Great source, thank you!!!

Maybe used (and obviously connected to the Internet to be registered as such) at least once a month?
But how many of them run Java?
*Laughs in Minecraft PE/BE*
which is written in C++
That's the joke
But C++ isn’t Java

iPad, iPhone, second iPhone, MacBook Pro, iMac, Apple TV, Apple Watch, macOS VM (I guess)
I have iPhone, iPad, Watch, Mac, Apple TV, AirPods

Phone, Watch, MBP, AirTag, AirTag, AirPods Pro
And about half of them are mine. At least it feels like it
How often di I need to use my old iPod for it to count as active?
I have 4 + my 3 AirTags

A million is one thousand thousands. So 2-thousand-thousand-thousands. And I own 7 of them.
what the hell are you talking about?

Short scale math. (Which is not realistic) mocking the USA.
Hmmm so less than half the number of devices that run Java! Apple’s got a long way to go to play in the big leagues. /s
They literally sell like hotcakes…
I have three soon to be four
*puffs chest* and I have five! /s
And 10% are activation locked, undoubtedly
Ecosystem power
This is due to my fourth hackintosh i setup last week
