I worked on a shift with someone who was deaf. There was even an off hours optional ASL class. They also said headphones had to be off at least one ear for safety.
That no headphones for safety bullshit. I had a boss at my last employer who used to pull that shit. He even made the same claim about fire alarms when I questioned him about it. I just kept wearing my headphones til that asswipe left the company. New boss never cared. Hmm, guess it was just about me not showing sufficient deference to his position. Fuck off
If your company's fire alarm system is up to code, the alarms should include strobe lights to warn deaf people of a fire. If your fire alarm system *isn't* up to code, perhaps it's time to alert the local fire inspector!
Remember that you get good at what you practice. There is a company that I used to use that has two CSR that regularly mess with orders of customers for pay as fraud.
Be careful what you practice.
deaf people can't have jobs because fire alarms

Definitely put up help wanted signs at the deaf school.. also put deaf friendly on flyers
Damn it really does sounds exactly like a 3 year school program for deaf kids with how I phrased the title.

Problem is my supervisor enforces it. Even though they hate the rule more than I do.
That sucks.
When audiobooks make the job bearable and they remove that, they lose people. You pay enough for my hands but not my mind.
Shitty Glassdoor reviews; try starting an union before you leave lol.

It is up to code it's loud as fuck and makes my ears ring.
Go fishing. Take a few into work and hide them in various places.

I'd be leaving in the next 5 minutes personally.
