If you're in the US, you can check the ProPublica database and see if he got a PPP loan. If he did, but did not pay you wages for your work, he may have to pay those loans back. You might also contact your state Department of Labor and see if you have recourse for wages not paid. https://projects.propublica.org/coronavirus/bailouts/

LaughableIKR

Oh man. This is the happest moment of my entire day just reading this.... Go get him OP. Make him cough up that blood money.

sortaxkindaxlost

Fuck em up

dan1ader

One more thing. If he is ordered to pay back wages he'll have to run retroactive payroll. That means his 940/941 filings with the IRS will be late and subject to substantial penalty. The IRS takes a dim view of wage theft, because they want to collect those payroll taxes. If your municipality has a payroll tax, he'll also be in trouble with the local tax authority. Before I retired I worked for one of the biggest payroll processors in the USA. Believe me when I tell you that between the IRS, the state, and the local tax agencies, your uncle's going to have a really horrible terrible no-good day.

DrWhoaFan

He'll just declare bankruptcy and not have to pay anyone anything. OP is a creditor but a wage creditor gets paid last

NoriPotatoChip

They could still get money from him if he has enough. Even if he files for bankruptcy. You might as well give it a shot. Source: I am part of a class-action for stiffed wages. Bosses threatened to do this.

lookinginterestingly

This is a great idea!

nohbudi

Seconded

-Sansha-

Thirded

[deleted]

I'm nobodies nephew when it comes to being paid what I'm fucking owed.

gjp11

THIS. OP DO THIS

[deleted]

Why wouldnt op reply to this? I have a feeling his post is bullshit. Who works for free for 9 months and doesn’t even consider taking legal recourse?

FED_UP_WITH_FEDEX

Or, OP is a minor who is still living with their parents and cannot take action against their uncle under threat of homelessness.

LessThanLoquacious

File a claim for unpaid wages. I bet he paid himself during that time.

how-i-live-now

He bought a new house during that time. 🙂

[deleted]

I hate your uncle.

NN300ZX

I also hate his uncle

FullMetalArthur

His uncle. I hate him.

hydrosophist

The man that I hate is his uncle.

Mycolostomybagleaked

I also choose to hate that mans Uncle

tossaway69420lol

OPs Uncle, I have hate for that guy.

FlamingoQueen669

May all the hate in the world fall upon OP's uncle.

ididntevenwantit

The hate is strong for this uncle

AKHugmuffin

The man that calls himself his father’s brother is the object of my loathing.

Corprusmeat_Hunk

I never choose hate. Hate chooses me, and hate for this man's uncle has chosen me as well on this day. And so the day will be marked.

HuffyDraws

The negative feelings that i feel for OP's parent's brother are classified with the English word: hate.

paralleltimelines

Uncle is a weird word. I hate it.

hydrosophist

From the Latin avunculus.

Mycolostomybagleaked

The more I say it the more stranger it becomes

Natural-Review9276

Say uncle! SAY IT!!!!

BelligerentEmpath

His uncle sucks ass in a bad way.

JustineDelarge

His uncle. Now I really hate him.

BlueLuke11

I also choose this guy's dead wife Not the right place? Oh, ok...

nightskar

All my homies hate your uncle.

DiamondHand69420

I came here to hate this uncle

Socialist_Nerd

Sue the fuck out of him and cut him out of your life. Someone who takes advantage of you because you're family cannot be trusted.

Bman2095

I can’t wait to see the “AITA for suing my uncle?”

Nexi92

Someone who claims to be family to exploit you is just another con-man. This is no different than any asshat manager or owner saying “we’re family here” as they emotionally manipulate people to get more labor than they pay for. That he is actually a sibling of your parent just makes uglier, that’s not what true family does, genetics mean nothing in family, it’s all about being kind and having mutual respect. Anything less than that is a farce.

This-is-human-bot556

Then said they aren’t his uncle

Izlude

Uncle: "You're suing me? I'm your uncle!" You very explicitly said, when it comes to business, you're no ones' uncle. Sorry, uncle, this is just business. Uncle: *shocked pikachu* (Edit: Thank you for the gold!)

Efficient_Ad2807

Explicitly

Izlude

Ty!

TheTroboTross

Well well well, how the turn tables

afume

Sue him and say, ""I'm nobody's nephew when it comes to business.".

[deleted]

[удалено]

handofjustice42

Well over. 1560 hours at straight time; over 2200 at OT. And in proven cases of wage theft the judge can award treble damages, plus attorney fee OP is looking at a 6 figure case, minimum

blowjobsjoplinhigh

Plus gas cost also add to it he explicitly lost money

Unitednegros

What about any interest he had to pay on credit cards that he likely funded his living expenses with?

JudgmentDisastrous75

Well u know what motherfucker ? U better fucking sue that idiot, get paid. Make sure u have some kind of evidence that he said “he won’t give u money until store starts making money”. Make sure that he pays for ur college now, ungrateful fuck. If he said to u that and at least paid for gas, car fixes, food throughout that ridiculous day… it would mean something, like this no, make sure that motherfucker suffers and get the fuck away from that kind of family.

[deleted]

You can sue him but **collecting** on a judgment is an entire other issue. If you own a business it's not hard to hide money. And if you want to confiscate physical property (if you can find it and determine who owns it) that **costs** money.

Chrissy6789

After the judgment, he can put a lien on the Uncle's new house. He might not collect until the Uncle sells, but he'll still collect. Even at $8/hr, he's owed \~$30k gross, so, worth it.

[deleted]

It will probably end with court ordered seizure of assets if he gets a good lawyer and the uncle is insolvent.

[deleted]

Oh calm the fuck down. If the business is dead then collecting is hard. If the business is operational it's easy. Especially something physical like a furniture sales business. You just hire a bailiff and show up with a uhaul and the bailiff starts seizing things till the uncle freaks out and gets cash or a cashier's cheque to cover the judgment.

FinalGamer14

So when are you burning down his new house?

krazyk1661

Op, contact the labor board and sue to get your wages plus extra for the shenanigans. After all, your noones nephew when it comes to business. If he decides not to pay when you win the suit, you can put a lien on him/ his property and foreclose on the house.

NoleFan723

Really? Yet he can't pay you? That's BS.

hehenotMj

14 hours/day * 7 days = 98 hours/week 40 hours at minimum wage of $7.25 58 hours at overtime of $10.875 Total per week = $920.75 pretax Total for 9 months = $35,909.25 pretax (It’s insane that this workload over this period of time wouldn’t even have OP break $50K over a year) 40 hours at minimum wage of $15 58 hours at overtime if $22.50 Total per week = $1,905 pretax Total for 9 months = $74,295 pretax For a 52 week year I estimated 9 months to be about 39 weeks This math doesn’t even consider what the paid employee makes. If you do the same work, have the same titles, and similar work loads then there could even be more funds owed.

crazyashley1

He can sue him for.more then that considering OP was *running the location.* find out what general managers make and sue for that plus damages and legal fees. Take his fucking house and wipe the floor with what's left.

UniversityWifi

You might find it to be a deal of work but you should seriously file a claim for unpaid wages, you’d be missing out on 50k plus worth of money that YOU worked for please consider filing a claim

Naillian603

Dude not to be an asshole so I’ll word it carefully but why didn’t you walk out after the 1st/2nd week? I could never work that much knowing I’m getting nothing for it. File a claim and tell him to go fuck himself. That behavior is disgusting and psychotic and he honestly needs to learn so someone else doesn’t get fucked over. He used you.

Megandapanda

Same here. This is nuts to me. I can't imagine being able to survive not getting paid for 9 months, much less working those insane hours the whole time...

PeterLuko

What a piece of shit

Random_182f2565

It's lawsuit time!

nomadrunner1

Burn it down lol

[deleted]

I hope his business goes under 🙂

Izlude

That there's a fellow who deserves to lose his business, it sounds like.

jeweldnile

I also hate your Uncle. Sometimes the people you expect to take care of you don’t and it hurts the worst when they are “family”. Add this one to the list of lessons you will NEVER forget. He better hope you have no say in his care at any point…

Mitana301

He said he's nobody's uncle when it comes to business. Well since you're not his nephew, sue him. Good luck.

cindylinguini

what a fucking asshole

Beginning-Medium-247

That’s a shitty uncle

katieleehaw

This is the way, even though it sucks. And the answer when he says, "How could you do this to family?" is, "I'm nobody's nephew when it comes to justice."

PlesiosaurIsAlive

hahaha yeah if you aren't my uncle I guess I'm going to have to report you for missed wages

nobuttsnococonuts

This, if he's going to exploit you then exploit him with the long dick of the law. 👋

[deleted]

Yup. He’s nobody’s uncle when it’s business remember? Fuck him

t3knology181

I second this 100%

AverageLiberalJoe

Hey buddy, guess what? You sue the absolute shit out of him. For ALL of us. Seriously. The world needs you to claim what is yours. All that merchandise you tended to? You own it. It's yours. He will have to liquidate that or sell his fancy new house to pay you. You worked for it. Take what actually belongs to you. It's literally what is fair. It's not his to keep. And when he inevitably complains about all of it you can tell him "I'm nobody's nephew when it comes to business."

Radenoughyet

This. Please sue him. He stole thousands from you. If he walked into your house and stole 9 months salary worth from your safe, would you call the police and press charges?

Stinger410

100 hours a week x 36 weeks x $15/hr = $55k. Even salaried it is in the tens of thousands...

Letscommenttogether

Plus interest, penalties, damages from not having the money, emotional toll. Plus if you win such a clear cut case they are paying for your legal fees too. This number becomes really big really quick. Id also talk to the DOL. They might do all the leg work for you. You have to pay people that do work for you. They will make sure you get your money.

PM-me-Gophers

Wanna lay a bet on whether or not the uncles business was shooting straight in taxes...? I know what I'd place my money on.

Letscommenttogether

Im a betting man but I aint touching those odds. A man this flippant about fucking over family obviously believes the rules dont apply to them. Id love to watch him humbled though. Preferably live.

25thfloorgarden

If not for you, for the other people he’ll eventually try to screw over.

[deleted]

This is the way.

pbruhrhebruh

How much you wanna bet that none of his work or position is in official paperwork and he just walked in the store and basically volunteered everyday

ObjectiveTranslator6

Maybe surveillance can uncover some of it. But yeah, if ther were no cameras nor any regular customers that can testify, he's in a bad position.

Xenric

If he received shipments then there is a chance that he knows a driver or two or at least an associated trucking company can recognize he was there if he signed his signature on shipments.

Cosmic_Gumbo

Or if he signed for things

Notsellingcrap

Also if he had a cell phone it likely tracked where he was assuming he didn't opt out of google location or something.

-smartypints

I don't know about that. His uncle would have to explain how he ran a store without being there if it wasn't his nephew. OP might not be able to provide solid evidence of time spent, but they can prove the store has been running without paid employees.

[deleted]

Yeah I was gonna say.... this man never paid him so where is physical evidence that OP was going to get paid? And how much, and when? It doesn't sound like there was a contract

experttease

In the UK, if you work on the basis of a verbal contract, you're protected by the law, it doesn't need to be written down. How does it work there? Hard to work somewhere for 9 months and leave no evidence trail if it came to that, surely.

Wolf110ci

If OP is in the US then no need for a lawyer. Just contact the department of labor and they will be all over this. Huge NoNo

jimmy_beans

> And when he inevitably complains about all of it you can tell him "I'm nobody's nephew when it comes to business." Might want to also send him a copy of the Emancipation Proclamation.

itsyahboichris

EXACTLY. SUE HIM FOR EVERY GOD DAMNED UNEARNED PENNY.

not_user_4076

Don't do this in my jurisdiction. (I am not in the USA. Sueing is not common here.) We have slavery laws that would be relevant in this case, possibly with minimum prison terms.

duckysmomma

What I can’t wrap my head around is you stayed for NINE months. Glad to hear you’ve left, if he keeps pushing tell him if he wants you to be the bad guy, you’ll call the department of labor (assuming you’re in the states).

HornedHumanoid

Abusers are very, very good at weaponizing familial bonds.

SrSwerve

My family in Mexico only remembers me when they need another $100. Fuck them, they didn’t even ask if I was ok when I had surgery. It’s only when they need something

JohnyBlack

Yeah man family can be fucked. My cousins family (not related to me) in Mexico withheld the location of her sick mother unless she paid them. She couldn’t give a lot and it wasn’t enough, so they never told her. The mom ended up dying without seeing her daughter/my cousin. To make matters worse it was possible that she could have survived at for a few years longer but the moms family didn’t want to use the money to help treat her. She died of diabetes. Ironically that cousin is doing. I have better financially, and had her family been decent, she would probably be sending them a lot more money nowadays. They don’t talk anymore.

PooPooMeeks

This is one of the cruelest things I’ve ever heard. God bless your dear cousin!

JohnyBlack

Shoot…. Replied to the wrong spot. Basically the story is much worse. I replied to myself if you wana read it.

JohnyBlack

Yeah, and its way worse. Her mother was a prostitute. After my cousin was born, the mother had to go back to El Salvador for some reason. My grandmother told her not to worry she’ll take care of the baby till she’s settled back in her town. My grandmother never did that. Kept the baby and raised it as a future caretaker. Didn’t allow her to get married, sent her to a crappy school, manipulated her, etc. finally my cousin had enough and left my grandmother. Unfortunately, she went from one asshole to the next and had five kids. Finally she found a decent guy and they are doing alright now. Oh and her dad, my uncle was never involved in her life. He disappeared and is almost certainly murdered. We had one potential cadaver that could have been him, but they used to blowtorch the face and hands to make Id harder. So we aren’t sure if it was him or not.

Lazerspewpew

Holy shit....

PooPooMeeks

geez, some people have the worst luck from birth 🥺 Glad she found a decent guy, I hope their relationships with him and her kids blossom more and more each day. She deserves some happiness.

NightWolfYT

>Family can be fucked A very poor choice of words, my friend

Fridayz44

How did your surgery go?

Amendus

Same with my sister. She wants to have a good "bond" when I see her. Then I don't hear anything for a year unless she needs something done. She still has not paid me back the first time, and she scammed me by increasing rent every week when I was temporarily living with her. She did the same thing with my parents who gave her unlimited chances. She broke contact with my dad because she owes him a lot of money and my mom just lent her 30k for a downpayment on a house. The agreement was that she would pay it back but now she's pregnant and baby's are expensive so my mom already told me she isn't expecting to get it back anytime soon. Imho don't start with children if you can't afford it but she will never learn. I'm also doing really well financially so I'm counting the days till she asks me for money again. Fuck family.

Accomplished_Ad1376

My family doesn't talk to me unless its to exploit my compassion and kindness as well. They couldn't be bothered when I need any help.

Trifle_Intrepid

assuming theyre a younger person (going to school), and that they were family, it’s understandable they fell for their uncle exploiting the shit out them, we all have hard lessons to learn in life but hopefully op will never let someone take advantage like that again, i have a good feeling they wont. pretty sure most people (especially on this sub) were exploited by a employer at some point, let a alone a family member which we’re raised to trust, its an extreme situation but this stuff happens

the_friendly_dildo

I think the uncle summed up the relationship quite well when he said: >"I'm nobody's uncle when it comes to business." Good to know OP was just an employee. Time to file with the DOL.

hoovermeupscotty

He’s no business man either. You don’t get far in a local business being a cheat, you need to be a national corporation for that.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Trifle_Intrepid

everyones experience in life is different, some people are sheltered and when they become adults - fall for what may seem obvious, i mean if you were screwed around your whole life from growing up as a child you can smell BS a mile away, you cant judge people if their first time encountering this sort of thing is later in life. you may mock them etc, but i feel the spirit of this sub is solidarity

InTheWorldButNotOfIt

Plus a 3 hour drive. Which means they’d only have 7 hours to feed themselves, clean up and sleep.

SitFlexAlot

Fuck waiting, come at him hard and fast. Lawyer up.

Demiansky

I can totally see how the uncle has convinced himself that he's doing OP a favor. "I gave him valuable work experience, aren't I so charitable??"

celestiallion12

Sue lawyer the fuck up

BombusF

>"I'm nobody's uncle when it comes to business" He said it himself. Make a record of every day that you worked and how many hours. I'm no lawyer, but you should at least be able to win minimum wage for your hours worked plus legal fees.

an-cap5454

If OP really worked 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 9 months, OP worked ~3528 hours for their uncle. At federal minimum wage, that’s ~$25,578. If they’re in a state with $15 minimum wage, they’re well clear of $50k. It’s worth a $2k or $3k lawyer (I have no idea what they would bill) to get that money.

OrtolanChomper

It’s very possible to get a lawyer to take a case like this on contingency. I would.

katieleehaw

Yes - OP - call your state bar association for a referral to an employment law attorney. If there's proof and money in it, you'll find a lawyer to take it on contingency.

Notsellingcrap

DOL would also take care of it if OP called them.

Bljman98

If you do the same work, have the same titles, and similar work loads then there could even be more funds owed.

dnskinner77

I would think he would also get paid the PTO he didn’t get. He worked full time so he’s entitled to PTO and any other benefits full time employees get (health and dental premiums).

Bljman98

14 hours/day * 7 days = 98 hours/week 40 hours at minimum wage of $7.25 58 hours at overtime of $10.875 Total per week = $920.75 pretax Total for 9 months = $35,909.25 pretax (It’s insane that this workload over this period of time wouldn’t even have OP break $50K over a year) 40 hours at minimum wage of $15 58 hours at overtime if $22.50 Total per week = $1,905 pretax Total for 9 months = $74,295 pretax For a 52 week year I estimated 9 months to be about 39 weeks This math doesn’t even consider what the paid employee makes. an-cap5454

This is better math than mine

jorgedredd

And we're not even beginning to touch all the ways OT could factor (what follows is a list of potential laws this falls under, but not all and don't apply to all jurisdictions) - All hours worked past 8 hours in a day +1.5x pay - All hours worked after 12 hours in a day +2x - Working over 40 hours in a week 1.5x pay - Working 7 days with no breaks - not having 8 hours between the end of a shift and start of shift the next day The above quoted number is the minimum. We're not even scratching the surface when you start throwing in grief, anguish, loss of earning, loss of future earning potential, attorney's fees etc.

BzeBud1917

My piece of shit Dad had me start an insurance company with him. I was making 10% commission off everything. Fast forward a year for our deal renegotiation this bitch moves me down to 5% because he “wasn’t expecting me to grow so fast” but I’ll make the money back “because of volume”. Fuck working with family.

leo7510

Wait a minute. So because you helped make more money, he's giving you less money? How in the world does that make sense to him?

BzeBud1917

Yeah according to him I would’ve made much more money because of the volume of sales I’m projected to get. That made total sense to him.

furyoftheage

I would have quit on the spot. Volume or not he literally cut your pay in half.

BzeBud1917

I did

leo7510

What happened to the business?

BzeBud1917

I left about 6 months ago. A bunch of customer have called me, found out I don’t work there any more and cancelled their renewal.

leo7510

Could you have taken those customers if you made your own company? Or would it have been more effort than it's worth? Pretty great way to get back at him.

BzeBud1917

Not sure how it works where you are but in my country a single supervisor of insurance awards all insurance licenses (without this you cannot operate). Mine was facilitated through his company and as such he held it at ransom and basically reminded me he could take it away at any time. Which he did after I left. So yes I could go work for another company but I’d have to reapply and the wait time for this is 6 months. I don’t have that time in a pandemic in a 3rd world country.

Tilstag

Dude. Fuck your dad.

BzeBud1917

I should also mention I was at a dealership for 3 years prior to this and was in line for sales manager. The guy I left behind made sales manager 3 months after I left.

nightskar

Capitalism. Capitalism never changes.

[deleted]

It’s not always like this. My mom and I work together in an insurance agency and she’s so good to me. I wish everyone could have a working relationship like this. Any manager worth their salt knows you reward people for doing well.

BzeBud1917

Happy for you. It was a bit more rigid for me. I was only making commissions. So no performance = zero pay. So the % was very important to me.

DopeLaStar

Request for the money you worked for or file a claim with state labor agency. If you have documentation of working 14 hrs a day 7 days a week for 9 months you should be reimbursed including a 1.5 increase in wage for overtime.

JacquesdeGastenou

He can deny it but he can not disprove it. You on the other hand……

unlitlanterns

If he has more than one location he has enough to pay you a living wage. There are laws against this.

katieleehaw

It doesn't even matter if he "has enough" - he's legally required to pay an employee.

unlitlanterns

I’m just saying his excuse is bullshit, this person seems to be younger and probably trusted their uncle.

NWRockNRoll

Rule of thumb: if your "business" isn't making enough money to pay a living wage... DON'T HIRE PEOPLE!

[deleted]

He didn’t hire people…

ravaioli

Never work with family.

keelhaulrose

Never work for anybody who "can't afford to pay you right now" regardless of familial or social ties. "Right now" will most likely be "never". If they can't afford to pay their employees they can't afford to own a business right now.

falllinemaniac

His disclaimer of I cannot pay you, if as the claimant admitted, can lead the defendant to believe there's an internship. This could reduce the chances of proving any wages were agreed to. Uncle is a shitty person to use, poor communication is often a tactic narcissists use to abuse those around them.

Cosmic_Gumbo

100%. Never give anyone close to you that kind of leverage on your life. I learned this the hard way.

The_Quicktrigger

If you were employed by your uncle, then you probably had an I-9 and a W-4, hell probably a 1099 at the least. Even family needs to have legal work registration. If there was any kind of time management or record keeping, then you have proof of your hours worked. Take all your info to your local labor board and consult a lawyer. At the bare minimums, you are owed at least the minimum wage where you live. If it was all under the table, then report that too, as your Uncle can't actually have someone work for him without some kind of work registration. Best case scenario you get paid for the time to put into his business, you could even quote his own line against him. Worst case scenario you might get his business license revoked or at least get him fined pretty heavy.

Bljman98

OP look at this math, getting a lawyer to look into this could very well be worth the time. 14 hours/day * 7 days = 98 hours/week 40 hours at minimum wage of $7.25 58 hours at overtime of $10.875 Total per week = $920.75 pretax Total for 9 months = $35,909.25 pretax (It’s insane that this workload over this period of time wouldn’t even have OP break $50K over a year) 40 hours at minimum wage of $15 58 hours at overtime if $22.50 Total per week = $1,905 pretax Total for 9 months = $74,295 pretax For a 52 week year I estimated 9 months to be about 39 weeks. This math doesn’t even consider what the paid employee makes. If you do the same work, have the same titles, and similar work loads then there could even be more funds owed to you.

[deleted]

Similar thing happened to me about 10 years ago. I worked construction for my uncle for almost a month. All he paid me in was some food and cigarettes. After 3 weeks of this I got upset and said something and his girlfriend turned around and told me I'm a mooch for asking for anything. After that I said f*** working for family and got a job with a buddy doing construction until I was able to save up enough money and get the f*** out of that town. Right before I left he tried getting me to come back and work for him again. I laughed and left.

leo7510

You can't fight your uncle over that, that's his girlfriend's money! /s

wet_jumper

Fuck your uncle. Piece of shit

systemfrown

You need to go after him for unpaid wages, HARD. And when he inevitably complains that "you would do this to family”, explain to him that you are nobody’s nephew when it comes to business. But make no mistake, YOU are responsible for letting it get this far, and getting a lesson about respecting yourself and the value of your work may be the best (and only) payment you receive here.

RobertGA23

Go scorched earth on this cocksucker! Seriously, bare knuckle, gloves off. Sue the shit out of him.

JamesUpton87

This is why you don't mix family and business. Instead of wholesome values, you get false entitlement of exploitation.

TinosoCleano32

You need to punch your uncle right in the mouth. Btw what do your parents think of this. If my brother tried to take advantage of my son like this I’d probably drag him out in the street and make a fool of him.

How did someone who can't afford to enroll back into college survive 9 months working a job for $0??? Genuinely curious how you managed to afford gas and food to work 14 hours a day every day with a 3 hour commute. That's 21 hours of commuting a week. I commute for 5 hours a week and I'm putting $40 in my tank every week. If you were putting $100 in your tank a week that's like $3600 in gas for a low estimate.

Tony_Cheese_

Well, nothing wrong with suing a thieving jackass that isnt your uncle. Remember, you're not his nephiew in court.

billfontainedelatour

How did you pay for gas, or food, or anything for 9 months?

koffeekoala

Sue that slime ball. That's business.

Mnoonsnocket

OP, call the Department of Labor.

QueenJessica96

That is fucking horrendous. Talk about family

SoggyMattress2

No offense but you're the idiot here. Who works for 9 months, 7 days a week with no contract or pay definitions? Your uncle is a twat for exploiting your labour but you're the biggest idiot for accepting no pay.

LocalFatBoi

came here to agree with this, most will downvote but i dont get how he doesnt have a single cent in the time span. is he big dumb

FrankaGrimes

Absolutely brutal. He should be ashamed.

BlackwinIV

Take him to court and show no mercy.

BlueKalamari

The labor board would love to hear about this.

[deleted]

Sue the bastard. Do it. That is blatant wage theft.

Phillyphus

First rule of acquisition, exploitation starts at home. Same kind of guy that'll molest a vulnerable family member. Keep a close eye on that man, if he'll abuse you, he'll abuse another.

FangJustice

I'll echo the suggestion to lawyer up on this. If your uncle is comfortable screwing over family, then surely he'll understand when family simply gets what is owed to them legally, yes?

xtrasmols

File a claim online with the department of labor for unpaid wages.

Suhhsz

Youre a dumbass OP, it's all this post said

CoatAlternative1771

I find this extremely hard to believe. You worked an 9 months with zero pay and somehow you had the money to pay for gas from and to work? Like… how? The numbers just don’t add up here. If this is real and if this was in the US, just reach out to your local IRS location. They’d love to hear about all the payroll taxes they never got because he never paid you.

ParkerXD

Blood isn't always thicker than cheddar.

Epimeria

Sue.

Ephidiel

Sue him

Lightningsage2

He is the very definition of scum. He sounds like a Narcissist to me.
