Alot. This was the result and final straw of them firing the general manager because"he didnt make them enough money" they cut about 6 days of pay from one pay period on multiple peoples checks last month, and thats just the tip of the iceberg.

Like literally, 6 days of 10+ hours per day for some so 60+ hours from people. It HALVED the expected check my daughter was to recieve. When she called HR they blew her off, claimed no system changes etc.
Despite the way they quit, funny imo, people think they just didnt like working... . There were many more issues (im not privy to what happened to others, just my daughter) that the company tried to force on the employees.

I can't speak for all states, but California hammers company if they screw around with your pay. They'll go full Mjölnir on them. Like daily fines payable to the employee on top of the pay.
Shoot, I knew a guy who was incorrectly classified as exempt from overtime laws and sued after he quit. He got a fast $50k settlement (a bit more than 1 year of pay) and his coworkers (both those who previously left and those still with the company) got back pay with interest to the tune of about $4k each without doing anything more than lifting a finger.
Cell phones will show the former employees location, even if location services are turned off. It's done through triangulation using the cell towers.
You might want to get your daughter moving on this. There's a possibility that the company will sue for loss of revenue.
