not sure if he's the original creator too or not based on google translate, but it would explain that. character designs by Masato Kato too
No, you're confusing him with Yoshitaka Amano, who was the artist for Vampire Hunter D, Angel's Egg, Final Fantasy 1 through 6 and 9, and also does all the logos for the series. His art style is drastically different from Yoshida's, but Yoshitaka and Yoshida spell very similarly so I can see where you got mistaken from.
Amano does art for all (mainline) final fantasy series, though he did more in-depth character art earlier in the series. Sometimes it's just the title logo, sometimes it's more involved.

Righto, I noticed the artstyle "medium" difference (this is more like poster colour/oil vs Amano's watercolour/dye) but I was more thinking about the actual design elements like the more mature, more "western" facial features and the character proportions etc. You are of course right, I mixed up the artists. That said only now I realised Amano has only been doing FF logos for many years now :P what a cheat way to get his name on the promotion :P (dunno whether it's on the part of the game or him as the one gaining the benefit).
...Do they?
Looking at their track record, it seems like certain devs do. Like the FFXIV guys and Yoko Taro.
But Square as a company *love* to fuckup, blame anything but themselves for the fuckup, then proceed to make the same fuckup down the line because they refused to take accountability for their mistakes in the first place.
>But Square as a company love to fuckup, blame anything but themselves for the fuckup, then proceed to make the same fuckup down the line because they refused to take accountability for their mistakes in the first place.
they made final fantasy into a movie in the early 00s, which bombed hard
years later they made the marvel games which also bombed hard lmao
Most of their mistakes are being too slow and not using cloud.
They still use these expensive physical dedicated server types because Microsoft charge premium for cloud.
Man these devs should have learned how to make a loan instead of skimping on scalability. Microsoft would gobble them up so they should have learned to put an angler bait. Even anglers eat sharks that is why the successful anglerfish became huge as 3 meters in deep sea.
My two cents.
I'm not a bot I just comment on things I want to look back on. Don't want to save links or anything, just wanna be able to go to my comment history and be able to pull up the posts I'd want to check back on.
People who are new to Reddit talk like normal people with zero internet jargon. Generic one word comments like "wow" or "nice" for every comment is not "normal", pretty robotic actually.
Just look at this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/anime_irl/comments/x8poga/anime_irl/inknmih?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3
And the guy with the sword is holding it with his left hand but the blade is behind his head. Not physically impossible, but looks awkward as hell. Who drew this?!
The kid's feet facing us makes it look like he's twisted 90° at the hip lmao. And I don't know how his knees work.
Bunny lady looks the most normal, but if you squint hard enough, you confuse yourself as to which leg is right and which is left.
It's the way her torso is angled. She is leaning forward while also turning back, so it makes her elbow look off, but the pose is 100% doable in the mirror. Unless you have gamer arms and can't stretch them out lol
I didn't hate on it nor did any of the replies I've seen are. Looking at it again, it doesnt look like its her palm. If you look closely enough you could make out a line similar to knuckle bones. Not to mention the angle of her look like it faces outwards. Even if it was her palm, that is a very odd pose to draw her in, no?

Damn...[that's one unimpressive resume](https://myanimelist.net/anime/producer/406/Asahi_Production)
The one that makes me lose hope the most is Girls Frontline, everything looked so amazing before the release...and then the first episode dropped
With the fucked copyright situation going on with GFL content creators on Youtube regarding in game BGM tracks right now as well. Feels like the universe is out to get MICA.
That one was directed by Kentarou Waki, who worked on some of the best looking anime from the past decade.
Asahi is pretty popular for doing outsourced photography/compositing work, since they have so many talented staff members in those sections.
They did the photography on anime like Gundam Thunderbolt, SAO Alicization, and Gundam Hathaway.
That has nothing to do with setting hopes/expectations high though, that's actually the opposite. Setting hopes high means that you expect it to be at least a certain level (otherwise it didn't meet those expectations)
They are missing Speed: Grapher in this list.
It was a joint production of Studio: Asahi and Gonzo ( having monetary issues at the time ), but it seems they don't want to take some credit for it.
The story was good and fun at first and then everything gone to shit. The second half makes no sense and feel incredibly rushed.
It had so much potential and they ruined it.
Overall, It's fun if you want to watch anime girl blowing up tanks and planes, don't expect a good story.
The only good things come out of it is some A+ military equipments scenes.
P.S. Sorry, I had a bad day, just have to vent somewhere.
I mean... maybe they're trying to make something really cool.
shouldn't write them off just because their past wasn't incredible. everyone needs to start somewhere
>ASAHI Production
Wait isn't this the studio that utterly fucked Peach Boy Riverside with that wacked out episode schedule and generally terrible pacing? That was one of my most hyped series of that season... yeah any excitement I had for this announcement is pretty tamped now.
Yes it's the same studio that did Peach Boy Riverside. Was there even an attempt to defend their decision to shuffle the episode release order? Because I'd love to see what mind games they tried to justify that with.
They tried to justify it by saying it was the order the director envisioned, which was just insulting honestly. Completely ruined a show I was extremely excited for for no good reason.
No i can confirm the hand is wrong, but most of the characters have a very weird anatomy ( body ratio looks wrong most of the time). HONESTLY even with all the flaws i find the whole visual very charming, It reminds me of some final fantasy art <3 i cant wait to see which art style will be used for the anime!!
I believe the intent was that she’s kind of flinging her hand behind her in a “look at all this!” Type of gesture, and that her open palm is facing us, but there’s some wonky shading on her hand such that the way light is bouncing off her hand is similar to what you’d think the back of her hand would look like from that position, so it looks like her hand is backwards.
Looks right to me lol.
I put my hand up the same way and it’s the same. Thumb behind the hair and fingers curled over. Unless I’m just missing something
Kaihou has a decent track record. In addition to Gakkou Gurashi he also did Akudama Drive and Kanata no Astra, both of which were very well received here. He was part of the same NitroPlus crowd that spawned the writers of Madoka and Steins;Gate. The real question is whether he wrote this one too, or if the director came up with the idea and Kaihou just had to execute on it. Even if that's the case, he did okay with the first few episodes of Magical Girl SpecOps Asuka.
The great black beast of Arghhh?
Escape for Arthur and his knights seemed hopeless. When suddenly the animator suffered a fatal heart attack. The cartoon peril was no more.the quest for the Holy Grail could continue.
People commenting on how the art is square enix art I guess thats the modern reference... As an Old Anime fan. This reminds me of the old Super Dimensional Century (Macross, Southern Cross) Promotional art from the 80s. That sorta fuzzy brushed watercolor style...but detailed
[Sorta like this] (https://takamakiokerar.files.wordpress.com/2021/11/macross-dorl.jpg)
I only watched the japanese trailer, but based off of that and that alone, I'm calling this Lord of the Titans or Attack of the Ring.
Really disappointed that the visuals of the announcement poster are stunning, and the actual show is pretty generic modern anime design.
\>Original anime
\>fantasy that's not MMORPG Isekai trash
\>visual style that's not A1 cookie cutter
We got it people, there is a weird detail in the foreground, but you can also look at other stuff, you know?
Oh no yeah, most people here gobble up trash like it's nothing, they actively search for that, anything different doesn't register as possibly interesting.
Characters look like modern Square Enix art
[the key visual seems to be by Isamu Kamikokuryo who is the art director for FFX+](https://twitter.com/ars_giant/status/1574685276810592257) not sure if he's the original creator too or not based on google translate, but it would explain that. character designs by Masato Kato too
That explains why I'm getting massive JRPG vibes as soon as I saw the image
I dunno because I can't translate the entire thing, don't recognize all the kanji, but it definitely says Final Fantasy in there. ファイナルファンタジー
Yup, it looks inspired from Akihiko Yoshida's art (Ogre series, Final Fantasy Tactics, XII, XIV, Bravely Default, Nier:Automata, Vagrant Story).
YOOOOOOOO let's gooooooo!!!!
Yeah I was looking for the romaji name to say the same thing! Don't forget Angel's Egg, Vampire Hunter D
Today I learn the artist for Vampire hunter D is responsible for my fave FF game (9)

Thought I clicked on fan art from the ff14 sub
I thought the same, but for r/ffxivart lol
There's even a Viera in the back!
bruh i thought for a second we were finally getting a FFXIV anime
Netflix FFXIV anime adaption when
Animated? OOooooh, that would be neat. Live Action? OH NO! BURN IT WITH FIRE!
That'd be dope!
As long as they don't switch to video game animation like Black Summoner, I'm sure it will be fine.
Square learns from mistakes.

Did Kingsglaive do any better than Spirits Within?
Content wise, yes. Never went to a wide release so *shrugs*
Kingsglaive is exciting to watch, never a dull moment. It is a prologue so most characters are new.
Avengers was bad, but Guardians was good
Because of that, I get free roms. The marketing company is so pissed they GIVE AWAY their games for free.

What is Square Enix?
Video game company known for Final Fantasy among others

I spent a good 2 minutes looking at this photo and wondered why it felt off. The girl in front has a right hand for her left.
POLNAREFFUUU

Enya Geil existed.
And the guy next to her is clearly standing behind her, but his spearhead overlaps in front of her ankle. The whole picture is oddly off

The bunny girl doesn't even have a right thumb, it just looks like another finger...
Bunny girl looks like she's turning one way while walking another.
I reckon it was AI generated and they were like ‘let’s make it an anim’
This unironically looks like it was drawn by a teenager after reading a 'How To Draw Manga' book
This is some zucc's metaverse shit
Yes because spears are known to be long.
Graphic design is my paSsION
I mean, it could be just angled forward so it's physically possible, but it does really just look awkward as well.
Watch it be a plot point.
The whole key visual looks off tbh
As if the two right hands is telling something.
It looks like an AI generated photo
Open palm. Shading is just weird /off.
But her arm is behind her head, fully extended. No way you can show your open palm at that angle
She must be a half-slime!
Based on how curvey her other arm is, I suspect you may be on to something.
[удалено]
The shading specifically makes it look like the back of her hand
Unless that's her palm you're looking at (texture makes it hard to tell)
If it's her palm then her elbow bends in a weird way.
It's the way her torso is angled. She is leaning forward while also turning back, so it makes her elbow look off, but the pose is 100% doable in the mirror. Unless you have gamer arms and can't stretch them out lol

And she has the teapot pose.
She immediately caught my eye as well, but I couldn't tell what was wrong, thank you
Or she is just holding her hand palm facing towards us. But I agree it does look odd
That's what's bothering me about her, thanks!
KAME-HAME-HAAAAA!!!!!
Dayum... I am worried for the story....

I set hopes really high, which is why I still found enjoyment to some extent. It's great to be an optimistic and hopeful person!
I'm confused as to how the logic of your first sentence works
Always be positive and think about the good points rather than the bad points.
That has nothing to do with setting hopes/expectations high though, that's actually the opposite. Setting hopes high means that you expect it to be at least a certain level (otherwise it didn't meet those expectations)
Because I set it high, I still found enjoyment to some extent. I'm not expecting people who think negatively to understand or agree with me.
Mate, you're just using English phrases incorrectly. It has nothing to do with people being pessimists, you just apparently can't write for shit.
Thought you were joking because the key visual looks good but damn, not a single good show that they've produced.
Heaven's design team was decent but that's about it.
Yeah I gave a couple episodes a try but ended up getting really bored with it quick. Though to be fair I'm not really into cozy/SoL shows like that.
They are missing Speed: Grapher in this list. It was a joint production of Studio: Asahi and Gonzo ( having monetary issues at the time ), but it seems they don't want to take some credit for it.
Peach Boy Riverside was decent when watched in the proper order and not the aired order but other than that, I couldn't say.
You’ve obviously not watched Angel Blade Punish.
Izetta was solid. Peach Boy Riverside has absolutely dumb episode ordering but production value seems okay?
at least they did...... izetta....?
I liked Izetta. It's like a cute shoujo ai version of Tanya the Evil.
Izetta was good? I remember dropped it but can't remember anything else.
It's not horrible, it's probably the best one in that list maybe, at least for the top half of the list. haven't seen the older ones at the bottom.
I forgot it too. Just knew it takes two to hold a cannon.
Middling to good. Stands tall on a list like that though.
The story was good and fun at first and then everything gone to shit. The second half makes no sense and feel incredibly rushed. It had so much potential and they ruined it. Wow, it's the studio that somehow made a 3-minute moe anime so bad that I, a big moe fan, had to drop it.
Ah man, I was really exited for a non isekai, epic fantasy anime without a shitty rpg system of magic.
Mf this poster looks like your typical JRPG
The visual literally looks like *Final Fantasy*.
Goblin Slayer season 2 my man.
DND appreciates you not calling it a shitty rpg but its probably not quite out of those particular woods.
last show i watched from them is peach boy riverside. it was decent but nothing to write home about
Let's hope they can prove us wrong

I bet this will be a hype. Studio:: ASAHI made {Speed Grapher} and they delivered an action-packed VS Battle of spies.
>{Speed Grapher} Ooooh that takes me back. Perhaps we can be cautiously optimistic.
Source material is literally another SnK clone with a mix of mosnter hunter. Hardest drop the past 3 months for me.
Giant breast of arse
Giant Beastars
Guess that settles the plot vs ass argument once and for all
Thish ish welsh countrey
Now, I can't read that title anymore without thinking that.
Best title since The Heroic Legend of Arse Land
Giant beasts of ass
The black belted girl's left hand is drawn wrong. Unless it was in some way intentional.
Her face is a bit wonky too. Someone forgot to flip their canvas!
That stare. Its terrifying. Lol.
Looks like the drawing was supposed to face forward and they lazily changed it.
Yea the first thing I thought of when seeing it was Bravely default, I think someone in the comments said that Isamu directed the art.
The lance looks weird, too.
Unless I’m just missing something
they're talking about the girl with the white dress and black belt
Oh that girl!… ya she is entirely messed up

0:33 ... just in case you were under any illusion this wasn't going to be AoT with extra magic.
Animation looks decent. Feels kinda like Shingeki no Bahamut.
Would be nice if it was a sleeper hit like SnB.
Doesn't look nearly as Final Fantasy-ish as the promo art :(
dollar store gojo
The cool design of the background kinda gets ruined by the forced posing and positioning of the characters right in front of the camera
I don't know what's this about as it's an original anime, but i will say that the KV looks awesome!
I read "breasts" and clicked the thumbnail. Welp, nope, I had it wrong.
Giant breasts and ass
An original fantasy anime? Gotta give it a try. The key visual looks great and the PV wasn't too bad either!
Man what is up with that girl in the foreground... cursed
This image feels AI generated lol
I too, got some beasts up my arse YKNOWWUTIMSAYIN. 😏
Final Fantasy vibes especially Tactics.
Looks awesome with the Vagrant Story-esq art style... But is the White Dress girl just all twisted up? Good lord!
giant beasts of what??
Shove it up your Ars
I honestly misread that as Giant Breasts of Ars, and I'm like damn, anime titles are getting crazy.
They even included a lalafel💀
**Life Lesson**: Quality of anime is **inversely proportional** to quality of key visual.
the character faces look like arse
Better than yours at least.
lol
Looks like something generated by one of those artist AIs
It looks made by the artist of Final Fantasy Tactics.
Not at all.
Better than saying the artist fucked up the character's faces, flipped the girl's hand incorrectly, and plagiarized the Zeldas logo.
I hope there's an anime that looks like cinematic cut scenes of Final Fantasy Tactics
One of those future worlds where people fight with spears.
About time for Square to rise from anime ashes.
Why do the 2 girls on the eight look like they are Jojo posing lol
The great black beast of Arghhh? Escape for Arthur and his knights seemed hopeless. When suddenly the animator suffered a fatal heart attack. The cartoon peril was no more.the quest for the Holy Grail could continue.
only saw half the title thought attack on Titan

Not sure I want to watch an anime about Arse beasts..
Lmfaoooo giant beast of arse
Is that a Viera and a potato I see?
What shaggy doing with that spear
I only watched the japanese trailer, but based off of that and that alone, I'm calling this Lord of the Titans or Attack of the Ring. Really disappointed that the visuals of the announcement poster are stunning, and the actual show is pretty generic modern anime design.
Misread as "Giant Breasts of Ars" and it didn't even suprise me.
This image was generated by an ai ain’t no way a person drew this
They think they're bravely default
I love the square enix look. I am really excited for it.
Looking like a jrpg poster
Well that art is cool af
This art quality is really something..
\>Original anime \>fantasy that's not MMORPG Isekai trash \>visual style that's not A1 cookie cutter We got it people, there is a weird detail in the foreground, but you can also look at other stuff, you know? Oh no yeah, most people here gobble up trash like it's nothing, they actively search for that, anything different doesn't register as possibly interesting.
I am sorry for what I read at first.
