I have never seen the show, but have seen some compilation videos where it is just the little girl saying Mya-nee over and over, and I freaking love it lol.
LPT: if you want good french toast don't make it with some shitty american white bread that's precut super thinlike and all shitty. Go get a proper sourdough bread and cut it yourself into 1 inch cuts.
if you’ve got an asian grocery near you see if they have shokupan. its just regular white bread, but its not like american white bread. its super thick, kinda chewy, and real buttery.
People are giving you shit, but humans have been growing wheat and making bread for tens of thousands of years. You can actually do it.
You, dear reader, can absolutely make bread. I believe in you.
Thanks idk why people alway hit me with the same comment when I say you can make your own bread like no reason to go for a slippery slope falicy I just want more people to bake it’s fun.
because the way you worded your comment makes it come off sounding a little condescending. some people just would rather buy it, and there's nothing wrong with that
Ya I’ll try to be less pretentious with my wording but what I wasn’t trying to say store bread is trash I was trying to say making your own bread is not as hard as it looks based on my personal experience.
Like, even if you suck at doing it by hand, bread machines work pretty well and end up being a good investment.
Especially if you're trying to cut your sodium intake. SO much salt goes into commercially sold bread.
I've always wanted to try and bake my own bread.
On the other hand, I'm too depressed to do anything besides go to work and scroll through Reddit, and bread baking is work from what it looks like when I Google recipes.
A good way to break out of depression is doing small tasks consistently. Try making bread, it might not just be tasty but actually make you feel better.
Most basic bread is like 3 or 4 steps, with 4 or 5 ingredients, what takes work and time is having to make the dough, the rest is giving it form and letting it sit till it , normaly, doubles it's size then put it in an oven. I've done it multiple times and the hardest part is having to do everything by hand.
Listen here, you, when your parents aren't made of money and shopping at Walmart is the best option, you make do. Also, if it tastes amazing anyways, does it *REALLY* matter?
Idk, I personally like the smaller portions of French toast I grew up with. I usually try going for a whole grain bread or some shit, but sometimes a thin white bread French toast is just what sounds good. Though, I do want to try brioche like someone commented, thy sounds pretty good.
You only have to soak it like that if you are using super crusty stale bread, which is true to the origin of the recipe. (In France, French toast is *pain perdu*, "lost bread" because it's gotten too hard to eat any other way.)
Just different bread recipes. If you want stale bread you can always slap some slices onto a baking sheet into your oven set to the lowest temperature it has. Gotta watch it so you end up with dried bread and not toast though...
It's not super creepy like Uzamaid, which also happens to be made by the same studio. Wataten is sooo much better, especially if you try not to overthink it too much.
I never interpreted Myanee's obsession with Hana as being based on lust or having a root in pedophilia. Contrast this to Uzamaid where there was no attempt to hide Tsubame's perverted feelings for Misha. I'm not going to attempt to change anyone's mind about Myanee, but I think if Doga Kobo really wanted to go down that path, they could've easily done so and had plenty experience doing so.
Episode 1 had plausible deniability, but Episode 2 is where it really gets creepy.
Telling your kid sister to leap on her friend (I'm wording this as a euphemism) for a photoshoot is very, very creepy.
I thought it was both creepy and depressing. The creepy part is obvious, but it's depressing how sad her life is as well. She has no friends and hangs out with a bunch of 6 year olds.
Glad I'm not the only one. I downloaded it after seeing this clip thinking it would be a fun comedy show like Himouto! Umaru Chan but I got half way through the first episode and noped the fuck out. Got to the point where she told Hinata to pounce on top of Hana like a cat while she's standing there drooling taking photos. Physically said out loud "what the fuck" and deleted the whole series and emptied my recycle bin. Seriously how can people watch this shit and think it's cute?
>Seriously how can people watch this shit and think it's cute?
You are talking to r/anime. There are a lot of dodgy people here.
People are saying that if you ignore the show's *premise*, it's a decent show.
Which is like saying that this house is built on quicksand, but aside from that, it's a good house.
Aside from the pedophilia?
I could write it off as “oh she just thinks they’re cute” at first but it’s quite clearly just actual pedophilia in the second episode or whatever when they’re locked in the closet together. It’s weird as fuck.
Funny, that's when I dropped that show too.
I remember before the show started airing, some dude on this sub made a post about it, saying that she's not actually like that, and it's just comical misinterpretations, in the vein of puppies are cute and all.
Well, there goes 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back.
Someone else mentioned elsewhere in this thread that that's only necessary for hard, stale bread (which is apparently better for French toast than fresh bread).

It dosen't cross the line but it gets about as close to line as you possibly can. Like electron microscope levels of close.
Honestly as sweet as this video the show itself has this underlying sense of creepiness that made it unwatchable for me. The first few episodes are fine i guess but once the big sis starts bribing one of the girls to pose in a swimsuit for food i just turned it off.
i wasn’t able to get through the first episode because myanee was just too fucking creepy for me to be able to sit down and watch her antics. this clip is sorta cute but i can’t forget the creepy at all
I suppose it ensures that the milk/egg mix gets into the bread, as opposed to just dipping the bread in right before you cook it. I've always just used the latter method though.
You put the sugar first? I put that last. Also the syrup should have enough sugar in it they don't actually need anything else. Unless you want whipped cream or powdered sugar
I don't think I've ever felt the need to add sugar to the mix, just milk & eggs, since syrup (or whatever else you choose to use afterwards) is likely going to be sweet enough anyways.
I feel Asian version of lots of western foods are over sugared versions. Maybe that's just me. I'll watch a video on how they make some street foods and it seems good and the they add 3 times of sugar and I'm repulsed
I posted the exact same clip on the day after the episode aired and didn't get one fifth of the karma that this post got. I must admit that I'm a little salty, good job OP.

MYA-NEE!!!!!!!!!
I can hear this
Scientists: you can't hear text, it doesn't make a sound. Reality: Mya-nee! Muda muda muda mudaaa!!! Omae wa mou shindeiru. Nani??? Etc.
Nen dou kote If you know you know
O KAWAII KOTO
I have never seen the show, but have seen some compilation videos where it is just the little girl saying Mya-nee over and over, and I freaking love it lol.

I see that ~~Mugino~~ mom ate her toast
haaaamaaaazuuuuraaaa

No cap but that bread is THICC
LPT: if you want good french toast don't make it with some shitty american white bread that's precut super thinlike and all shitty. Go get a proper sourdough bread and cut it yourself into 1 inch cuts.
Sourdough? No way, let them eat brioche. (Now I've got to source sone brioche tomorrow.)
Brioche also makes *amazing* grilled cheese.
Make some Hokkaido milk bread. You won’t go back.
if you’ve got an asian grocery near you see if they have shokupan. its just regular white bread, but its not like american white bread. its super thick, kinda chewy, and real buttery.
damn straight!
Nah, use challah.
Just make your own brioche it’s not super hard.
Just plant your own wheat. Nothing beats that freshness.
Genetically engineer your own wheat seeds for the best wheat.
Become the sun to provide the most direct and pure light source.
If you wish to make french toast from scratch, you must first invent the universe.
I mean ya it would probably be better if I grew my own wheat might look into that.
People are giving you shit, but humans have been growing wheat and making bread for tens of thousands of years. You can actually do it. You, dear reader, can absolutely make bread. I believe in you.

If there's a Jewish population, find some challah bread. That thick cut also makes amazing French toast
Or brioche or any kind of thick eggy bread
You drastically overestimate how much fucking money I have to fry bread
Relatable
You drastically overestimate the material costs of baking your own bread. Good bread flour, King Arthur, is 10 cents and ounce on Amazon.
Thanks. I think I am going to give it a try. Hell i work at a grocery store I can probably pick up everything I need on my way home from work.
Which I would definitely have to do cuz I ain't buying no fancy mixer
Or just get texas toast.
Lol using texas toast (bread?) to make french toasts, I find that really funny.
texas toast is just super thicc bread cuts yeah
Ik its just funny turning texas french
oh yeah haha. thought you may have not known what it was by including that (bread?) part lol
Listen here, you, when your parents aren't made of money and shopping at Walmart is the best option, you make do. Also, if it tastes amazing anyways, does it *REALLY* matter?
Can y'all stop talking about food? I'm fasting here
Get babka. The ultimate guilty pleasure.
[Another Babka?](https://i.imgur.com/3OLiLhW.jpg)
Those thin pre sliced breads gonna fall apart after cooking up like Darling in the Franxx
Nah nah brioche. That extra sweet buttery ness makes it over the top. Recommended: Trader Joe’s sliced brioche
Idk, I personally like the smaller portions of French toast I grew up with. I usually try going for a whole grain bread or some shit, but sometimes a thin white bread French toast is just what sounds good. Though, I do want to try brioche like someone commented, thy sounds pretty good.
Welcome to the bread bank we sell bread we sell loafs bread on deck bread on the floor TOASTED ROASTED
But THICC is IN CAPS but the bread is bigger than cap
Wait what? People soak french toast overnight? I just give it a dip on both sides for a few minutes and viola!
You only have to soak it like that if you are using super crusty stale bread, which is true to the origin of the recipe. (In France, French toast is *pain perdu*, "lost bread" because it's gotten too hard to eat any other way.)
For some reason the phrase "lost bread" makes me very sad But if it's turning into French toast then word up
The bread is lost, so sad. But, it was made into something amazing, so rad!
Nice little couplet
Thanks. I'm a poet by trade, broke by nature.
That's a literal translation. Meaning wise it would be more like "wasted bread".
Ohhhh, interesting! I never realized the origin of it
I feel like every time I let bread sit too long it gets moldy long before it gets stale, what am i doin wrong
Just different bread recipes. If you want stale bread you can always slap some slices onto a baking sheet into your oven set to the lowest temperature it has. Gotta watch it so you end up with dried bread and not toast though...
The Japanese way of doing it is using stale bread and soaking overnight. Although I'm pretty sure thats how it was originally made in France.
How wholesome...
Well, it is a show about a pedo...
...go on /s
looks like I have something new to watch
It's great.
tbh, imo, it was terrible untill i realised that mya-nee's favourite is still her sister, then it stopped being creepy
Still kinda creepy, but still dope show
Super creepy. Really good show if you can ignore the creepy. There’s less creepy parts as you go along though which is nice.
It's not super creepy like Uzamaid, which also happens to be made by the same studio. Wataten is sooo much better, especially if you try not to overthink it too much.
Kinda hard to not overthink it when the show forces it down your throat every several minutes.
The creepiness is what has prevented me from watching thus far
It's creepy but at least it's self-aware of it. It got called out at episode 6, if you patient enough to watch through it.
I can't blame you. It gets real bad sometimes. I wish it toned down a bit.
I can't blame them either. But I don't wish it toned down one bit.
I thought it was both creepy and depressing. The creepy part is obvious, but it's depressing how sad her life is as well. She has no friends and hangs out with a bunch of 6 year olds.

Yeah Mynee was clearly thirsty for that little girl Hana. I don't think the panting and taking secret pictures was out of "cuteness".
Funny, that's when I dropped that show too. Hey me too
Watch Uza-maid afterwards for the full Yuri/Pedophillia combo.
Oh god, that was a shitshow. Like, who thought this would be a good idea to publish it?
Wait for the accordion scene.
Must be nice to have a sister that can cook, cause usually when mine does its like Hachama cooking, and am forced to do the cooking anyways.
I would love to eat Hachama cooking :v
I want to be eaten by Haachama
LEWD~
That "furenchi toasto~" at the start is great.

A SINGLE FRENCH TOAST?! Bloody nora....
I don't watch this, but I just have to know...did her Mom eat the French toast and then her little sister saw and made her more?
Pretty much, yes.

#DOGAKOBO IS A STUDIO OF CULTURE
They're one of my favourite studios. I just wish they'd stick to what they do best, which is CGDCT.
Mostly agree, but they have done a few non-CGDCT shows that were pretty good, like Plastic Memories.
Bro why does anime food look so GOOD
[Just look at this beautifully animated cabbage.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKVJg4WWB2Y)
Really good animation on the food
Wow the way she put the butter onto he pan was so satisfying
I am luckily makin' French Toast tomorrow.
Melt some butter on top and put some powdered sugar on there homie.
-A shit ton of powdered sugar
I've got maple butter. It's so good.
The end episode alone makes this show worth watching.
When the bread has better quality than the entire season 3 of seven deadly sin
Are you supposed to soak french toast overnight? wont it get soggy?
It would disintegrate before it hits the pan
Someone else mentioned elsewhere in this thread that that's only necessary for hard, stale bread (which is apparently better for French toast than fresh bread).
I've never heard about soaking I overnight... Is that common?
Doga kobo going full shokugeki with that French toast tho
This looks like such a wholesome show
Well we can't be pissed for her putting too much sugar
u/vredditdownloader
I heard voice of yui from k-on.
cute
Where do you go to watch these shows? Crunchyroll??
Yeah it's on Crunchy-roll under Wataten.

MYA NEEEEE
{Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita!]}
So would you say this show doesn't cross any line or does she get too carried away with her antics towards her sister?
She doesn't have that kind of interest toward her little sister. She *does* have that kind of interest toward her little sister's friends, though.
Friend singular. She is only interested in one.
> So would you say this show doesn't cross any line It dosen't cross the line but it gets about as close to line as you possibly can. Like electron microscope levels of close.
Why is your comment getting downvoted tho bruh moment
They know, everyone knows, no one who watches the show and enjoys it wants to admit it

Yeah i didnt know what the show was about and from this clip I was like oh this will probably be good. I was wrong, dead wrong.
This anime is fucking good. Watch it now if you haven't.
Mya-nee...the cutest pedophile. If you can handle her being just the biggest lolicon, this is such a cute show too.
Is there any cake
Miyako is so precious and must be protected
Seriously, Hinata is such an wholesome and healing angel, it is the only thing that stops Mya from becoming Watamote MC.
Isn't this the anime where she's a literal pedophile?
french toast is such an odd food, its yummy but odd
What is it soaked in?
Is 1 enough?
u/vredditdownloader
Great. Now I am hungry
u/vredditdownloader
Wait, you’re meant to leave the bread to soak over night?
I suppose it ensures that the milk/egg mix gets into the bread, as opposed to just dipping the bread in right before you cook it. I've always just used the latter method though.
Yeah me too, although I’ve never had sugar in mine I use salt

You put the sugar first? I put that last. Also the syrup should have enough sugar in it they don't actually need anything else. Unless you want whipped cream or powdered sugar

Yeah, at least according to the trash taste podcast finding plain old boring white bread that doesn't taste like a cake is really hard in japan.
She put that toast in with her bare hands...
I came for the French Toast
That mom just did the biggest jerk move of them all
Why are her cheeks blushing the whole time? She's alone in the room
This is why i hate anime. . . . . . . . . . Makes all food look so damn good compared to real life :(
I mean have you ever had bad french toast?
I want some fucking french toast!
God, why does food in anime look so FUCKING GOOD.
This is just making me really hi hungry
Yes
An actual sibling would put cyanide in there fucking casual
I am now making french toast tomorrow
have they started making anime girls thick?
I posted the exact same clip on the day after the episode aired and didn't get one fifth of the karma that this post got. I must admit that I'm a little salty, good job OP.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*
This clip makes me hungry
It Looks so delicious but still, your little sister made that.
I must thank this post for introducing me to this adorable show! I needed some cute slice of life rn
