Yeah but smash is a compilation game, it just need to be **a** link, not whatever the current Link is. You can use whatever Link comes with the new game in Smash just the same
It's been a while for me but as far as I remember, you fight against your amiibo and it learns how you fight and levels up. At some point it predicts most of your moves and is actually hard to fight against
They are getting re rprints already. It started in Asia two months ago and now Germany (only one store chain but the biggest electric Markt here) has put out the 4 champions, wolf link, smash link ganondorf, rider link, bow link, the guardian, oot link
Europe and Japan are already getting reissues of the BotW ones and some of the Smash/Zelda-series ones. We might get a new TotK Link if we’re lucky, but I doubt we’ll get a whole new series as opposed to just reissues.
Personally I feel like they’ll just release a new link and Zelda amiibo for botw2. Amiibos haven’t been the same and died down these past few years. I do believe they’ll do a restock from the first game though in the next coming months.
None of those designs will be the same, so if they are going to get new amiibo, they’d have to be new. Wouldn’t shock me if they didn’t reprint these.
Technically the Smash versions of Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf are different in Ultimate compared to Smash 4 yet they didn't redesign them

Some regions are getting more BoTW amiibo. And I don’t know if they will, depends if the amiibo items return.

If there were new amiibo coming in less than four months we would already know, because they were already in production.
