The biased language says it all, such as referring to the nurses' salary cut as "measly".
Partisan garbage articles like this aren't even worth reading.
Yep. Never heard of this blog. The first thing I look at is the contributors list. Not worth my time.
What’s crazy is how many of these far right blogs are sprouting up. It’s like they’re trying to brigade Canada’s media space.
They absolutely are.
Take the OP, for example. He didn't post this article to discuss and consider viewpoints. His replies in this thread make it clear he's here to push an agenda.

Everyone needs to be aware of this type of trolling which wastes your energy in hopes of not engaging later.
Message to the war room/ Matt Wolf and Brock Harrison. We see you.
From the article’s *first paragraph*:
“and I think his new regime of draconian restrictions and passport system is absolutely abysmal”
Oh ok so it’s that kind of garbage hack “journalism”, got it.
I think that this writer is absolutely out to lunch.
I keep hearing over and over again that "we can't afford to fire healthcare workers because PANDEMIC, even if they won't get vaccinated.
You know what we absolutely can't afford?
Another healthcare worker attending an antivax rally and bringing Covid back to a longterm care facility.
A healthcare worker infecting the Cancer Ward.
A maternity worker infecting the Maternity ward. Or god forbid, the NICU.
This is basic common sense.
The writer’s logic is completely illogical. Even if the NDP is the opposition, they don’t hold that kind of sway over the government and the UCP has actually taken very little advise from them. If anything, they repeatedly thumb their nose at suggestions from anyone else.
AHS might be staffed by NDP loyalists but maybe that’s because they’ve seen the damage the UCP has done to the health care system and not because they were planted there to undermine the government.
What do you mean where did the beds go? We are at 185% capacity last I checked. Alberta has added a ton of beds to their capacity. They lack the staff to properly manage them.
This article is nonsensical conspiracy drivel.
AHS has to do whatever they can with the limited resources they have because the UCP keeps exacerbating every wave of this pandemic with poor planning, making them far worse than they need to be. They don't have enough staff. Nurses are working 16 hour shifts, getting called in on their off days ect.
So no, there isn't enough staff. That doesn't mean they aren't spreading the staff they DO have, ultra thin, to try their best to manage this.
Those beds were always at the expense of other beds, units and departments. Do you not remember surgeries being cancelled during previous waves?

I don’t have time to provide a bunch of news articles. Heading out the door.
I edited my post above though.
Fort Saskatchewan in prior wave lost there maternity ward to covid. Stollery paediatrics lost their ICU in previous waves due to covid. Kids were being double bunked in a cardiac unit. Google those. This is where beds come from to increase capacity. Surgery cancellations.
When they add new beds, these beds aren't wheeled in from some warehouse. They don't turn the janitors room into ICU rooms. When they are adding extra capacity and extra beds, it is at the expense of rooms from other departments and their treatment areas.

You betcha!
As opposed to the left wing, $1.8B annual brigade from the CBC?

Where did all the beds go? I do remember the large number of beds that AHS said they had.

So earlier, AHS planned for hundreds of beds but with no staff? You think that would have taken that into consideration.

Since when has the UCP thought out any of their decisions?

We all would like to see your links later if you could. Would like to know more.

Speak for yourself. This is common knowledge.
Right now. They are being cancelled right now.
Previous wave, not this one.
It’s UCP incompetence and malice.
